Grim Defender is a fast paced castle defense / tower defense (td) game that requires strategy and skill. You defend against waves of attacking monsters, upgrade your defense and grow stronger and stronger. The dark army is preparing an attack - fight back and kill the monsters with powerful crossbows, magic spells, traps, legendaries and modules - send the monsters back to the dungeon where they came from. You will have to shoot a lot!

Love it! However I think an improvement could be done that is an auto-level option that chains up the levels one after another, and the turn it off button in the pause menu then at the end of the level they turned it off, all bonus rewards add up and you see all that you collected like endless but with levels.
I am big defender fan, I never thought I can see a better game than defender on playstore, ie untill grim defender, most amazing, thank you devs for creating a exceptional game, created with lot of thinking about mechanics, simple and smooth graphics and no nonsense gameplay, ads are optional, incredible! I recommend you try this game if you are fan of defender. Edit:I believe Masteries for active and auto turrent bows be combined , instead all are forced to abandon auto turrent bow late game.
This is a great game could do with a better darkgold drop rate but since the latest update (1.75) it crashes on the loading screen will give more stars when that's fixed.(edit game working normally after update 1.76 changed rating to 5 🌟.)

The ONLY reason I'm not rating 5 is because darkgold is so hard to come by! And expensive too! ($1.50 for 1!??) I love the challenges of each level, but wish the endless mode dropped more loot. I also love that you can usually choose to watch ads to get more currency after each level, and the income from each round is well balanced. Keep up the good work!
Great game! I like its quality, design and the feeling it gives very much. Another point is that there are no forced ads, so no ruining the game experience when you just want to relax. Thank you very much, dear Byteghoul team! The only issues, that may somehow affect the decision of making the ingame purchase, is no cloud saving, so in case of device loss/damage, you'll have to start from scratch. But hey, it's still enjoyable (had such experience)!
Lets be honest, you want to try it regardless what you read. Ive been playing for several months and Ive become fully addicted. I spend hours every day grinding. This is one of those games in which it becomes more enjoyable the higher you get. The game is perfectly balanced it never becomes easy. its a challenge at any level. If you want to play a game in which youre constantly challenged this is the perfect game for you. THERES A LADDERBOARD in which youll always feel eager to play to go higher.
This is not a TD game. You are actively aiming where you want to shoot. For me that is a good point. The devs designed it so you unlock features little by little. At level 50 you unlock all the features... After that, it's just grinding to earn resources and upgrade your defense systems. However, there is where strategy starts. You have a good amount of different crossbows, traps and spells, but limited amount of spaces to place them; so, you cannot grow infinitely strong. Choose carefully
Lets you opt out of ads. For free. Lets you decline analytics. And it will keep you busy for a long time if defence games where you do the defence is your thing. Not an idle game. Not pay to play. Just grind to get good or try hard to plow through. Im sure there is an option to buy something, but i haven't felt the urge in the slightest after 50 levels. Save up for multiple turrets and check the leaderboard to see if you want to emulate their setup.
After trying this game for the first-400 levels, I'm happy that I tried this game. The gameplay is smooth without any lag, there are many variety of combinations you could try (but be wise not to waste dark golds, just check the top-ranked builds). The adverisement system is great + optional. 5★ PS: Don't wory about dark gold, they always drop everytime you face a new type of boss for the first time.
Straightforward and simple yet interesting and different approach at a tower game. Best part about it is that so far the gameplay vs. Lvl up stat changes are pretty much perfectly balanced. Can start off a little slow but it stays challenging but not too hard. Wish it had a few different modes similar to endless mode to make gold, rubies, or even darkgold.
Great game. each in game currency is easy enough to come by, and with the reset function you can essentially save up dark gold to spend on something better later. What I don't get is at the start you have 3 bows shooting tons of arrows, but it doesn't seem possible to achieve that afterward. Even with that as a big attention grabber, or false hope, or whatever the devs meant it to be I think this game is easily worth 5 stars
Good game though there are several things that could be improved. The main issue is that things aren't refunded fully, making it hard to try different tactics and experiment in what would be the best purchase. This is especially evident with the dark coins as there rather challenging to get and refunding a purchase might not get you the coin back. Also a annoyance in that I don't know how much health the enemies have or what my damage is with all the "attachments". Meaning I kinda have to guess.
Interesting at start but becomes a grind. Upgrades start to cost way to much. Requires premium currency to do major upgrades that are way to rare. Farming endless gets really when it decides to send several range bosses that won't trigger traps and hide behind a wall of enemies and there's no way to stop them from taking out your base in a few seconds
I love this game! There are endless strategies and combinations to use. Spells, towers, traps, and you can even use two crossbows at once if you want. So many upgrades too. Everything in the game can be upgraded and you notice a big difference when you upgrade too. Fantastic and addictive game
A fun time-waster with decent and easy controls. The daily missions usually aren't too difficult, and you can always grind gems & gold in Endless mode. The only item that can inhibit leveling is when you need darkgold, but the storyline will provide most of those. Ads are generally short and painless. Overall, a pretty solid 4.
I'm on level 1,600 .the thing which I'm not to please is that when in progression mode and it's down to the last few enemys it takes forever to kill them. Sometimes it takes like 2 minutes to kill 1 enemy, until to the point that it's boring.overall it's a good game n u will just want to keep on going.im on 38 position now.
This is by far the best game for a tower defense game. Cool enemies,v great music and gameplay is so easy too. I recommend this game to anyone who likes a tower defense game. Plus when you spend money on it, it's so easier to upgrade. If you don't wanna spend your own money. Don't mistplay or mobile performance meter. Trust me you won't regret it. Thanks for the awesome game. But please update it every now and then. Us players would love new upgrades or updates. Please look into that
Great game!! Super fun and challenging. I have been playing non stop. I was about to pay for some black gold but before I spend money on any game I want to be certain of it's integrity. I understand the random black gold drops are meant to be few and far between but ever since I purchased the holy grail legendary I have only gotten 1 random black gold drop. I was getting more before having it. Three days of constant play and only one. Thats why 4 stars. And thats why I wont spend any money on it
In this game you shoot enemies that are rushing toward your castle. After you kill then you get gold which you use to upgrade your castle defenses. I gave 2 stars because the reward system is very bad, at least for those that play actively. You advance to higher level and you would expect you would get more gold, higher the risk, bigger the reward, right? Wrong. Not in this game. But the costs for upgrades rise exponatially.
Used to play this a lot but uninstalled a few months ago with the intention of coming back - which I did today - only to find that the cloud save method has changed and the long string that we were given previously can no longer be entered in full so old saves cannot be restored. It would be great if you could make these things backwards compatible - or periodically save to the cloud against the active Google Play account & restore automatically after reinstalling, like most other games!
I was originally gonna rate it 4 stars because the UI was awkward but turns out you can change it. Great game. It's simple but works well. You can earn ALL ressources just by playing at a reasonable rate, even the purchasable one. You can get more gold by watching ads but if you're willing to grind a little bit, you don't need it. Overall, no outrageous cashgrab methods, no paywall, simple but good and responsive gameplay. Very nice.
