I really enjoyed my time playing Groove Coaster. Although I'm not a fan of how inconsistent the UI is. The menus for the mission, profile, rankings and the store needs an overhaul. Otherwise, solid game and very time consuming for good reasons. I want to suggest the addition of different game modes to add a fresh twist in the game. 8/10

I enjoyed playing the songs but sometimes halfway through the song, the app would freeze. I preferred being accompanied by a person talking to me. It just creeps me out just being in silence and it being in black. There were a few songs that arent available on the switch that they have on this app. I prefer the switch version.

The game plays well, but the UI is incredibly buggy in a way I feel like I haven't seen in a game in more than a decade. It just really takes me out of the experience to play through a song and then immediately after see what looks like a broken webpage that hasn't loaded properly. It doesn't help much that the UI doesn't look great even when it is loaded in properly- too much black and fonts that feel like they're trying too hard to look "futuristic". The UI of the arcade game looks far better!

i just downloaded this game after playing the demo on my nintendo switch and whenever I open the game and try to play the tutorial it just closes the game. I'm honestly very confused and don't understand why. it's a very fun game but until I find a way to fix the issue I will have to leave it at 1 star.

It's a great rhythm game, but the problems is kinda overwhelming. First and foremost, you can't change password so I can't use my own email anymore that I had previously linked to. Second, the UI in some parts are very old and disappointing that needs a change. And lastly, the missions needs a major change since I can't do most of them. So until all of the problems I've mentioned are fixed, it's going to be a 5/10.

UI is incredibly laggy, and not optimal for upgraded androids. I also cannot purchase any songs I actually want or play a song without either lag or random black/white screen

This game is really fun, but can be insanely hard, like, make me contemplate my video game skill near impossible. But awesome game, looks great, fun, really entertaining, and lovable. It gives you something to do. It's a score game, not a completion game, and it's retro styled. It's got lots of awesome Japanese music like Vocaloid stuff and more for purchase. I'm not a fan of the game's remixes at all, but hey, I'm still playing it so they did something right. That's up to you though, you might like the music. I say give it a shot either way, you got nothing to lose, and after you've gotten used to the controls you can take a quick look through the shop to see if there's any songs from outside stuff you like. OH WAIT- one thing... After you've put your account on 6 devices, you have to do a whole back and forth emailing thing with the company. That's a total pain and I'm not looking forward to doing that again when I get a new phone. Be very careful about which devices you register on.

Really cool and unique gameplay compared to other rhythm games. However I really don't like the song selections. I find 95% I've played so far to be pretty trash. The paid music packs would probably feature a lot better music. Along with that, the notes can be a little difficult to time. Sometimes notes come at a speed you barely have time to react too, and with all the crazy effects going on in the background it can be hard to spot some incoming notes.

Love this game! Very simple to pick up but challenging to master, has a lot of good songs. Not epileptic friendly, and the coaster gimmick can cause mild motion sickness until you get used to it. The DLC cost everyone complains about in reviews comes out to about a dollar a song. Despite playing on some garbage phones, I've never had any performance issues. My only gripe is that I wished there was a random song selection like in the arcade versions. Great introduction to the series regardless!

The songs are decent, and most of the mechanics are good and easy to understand. The biggest problem this app has is its user interface, it's time consuming to scroll through songs, blindingly bright, and often times difficult to understand. There are also some acsessablity problems with the flashing lights, and it just makes your eyes hurt after a while. The ad-lib mechanic is difficult to understand and often makes you miss notes because you're trying to find them. Would reccomend.

I played the Steam version first. Mobile is older, so it can be rough, but I recommend giving it a try since it's free to play. Downsides: About half of the free songs are from when Shohei Tsuchiya was still learning what music is. Interface often has layout loading in a few seconds after the text/data. DLC is very expensive for a phone game, especially considering I already bought a lot of the same songs on PC. But that's just if you want all of it. Also, a lot of the charts are hard to see.

I love this game a lot. It's a visually beautiful rhythm game and is quite an accurate port of the arcade version. I also like the free songs - they don't feel like royalty free garbage, and actually feel like what you would play at an arcade. The game's only downfall mainly comes from the mission and shop screens - basically stuff not in the gameplay. Because it's quite cluttered and an old UI, it can be very hard to navigate menus. There are a few grammar errors too, mainly 'touch to next.'

This game has an excellent selection of songs and some amusing game play mechanics. However, since this game was released a few years ago, the UI is long overdue for an overhaul, preferably based on Groove Coaster for Steam, the original Groove Coaster 2 for arcades, or Groove Coaster 4. Call it a nitpick, but using Android 2.3 dialogs is a big no-no in this day and age.

I liked the arcade one better. The music they give you to start with gets really obnoxious, along with the fact that it took me 20 minutes of playing the tutorial to find out that the new songs are only gained through rewards. I mainly got this to play vocaloid songs, but it's 5 dollars to pay for a pack. Even if you spend 5 dollars, if you were to reinstall it somewhere else, it doesn't save your purchase. Long story short, play the arcade version. It is better.

Very good rythm game. My only problems is how the gameplay in some of the harder maps (usually difficulty 9+) can be pretty spammy with moving objects/targets or flick targets (and just spam in general) and it can get kind of annoying. Also some maps aren't rated properly in terms of difficulty (as in some overlap). Other than those things (pretty minor when it comes to the big picture lol) i find the general gameplay and visual style very nice, it's a fun game and pretty addicting as well.

Its a really fun game, since I love music and the special effects are cool and it's easy to play. The only things I would change about it are, adding more free songs and adding samples so that players can decide whether or not they like it before downloading it. I also think it would be cool if, I can add my own music from my phone to it and I also would add more of a variety of genres besides electronic dance music. I like that genre, but it can get too repetitive after a while.

I don't play music games on mobile, but Groove Coaster is the exception. This game is one beautiful game, despite the fact it can be real challenging in some situations, especially the AC versions of the songs. There are many other songs available as DLC, which expands the amount of songs you have available to play. If you want a good music game on mobile to play, then go for Groove Coaster. You won't regret it.

As a fan of both the steam version and arcade version I was hoping I could access some arcade songs through this. Instead I was met with frustratingly bad controls that are hard to hit, a terrible interface, and hardly any good music compared to the other two versions. This game is a husk, what else could I expect for free. Disappointing.

I've played a fair number of music rhythm games, but none come quite close to Groove Coaster 2. be warned, this game is HARD. Difficulty levels can get up to insane heights that are built for the quickest, meticulous people. But visuals are a treat for the eyes, music is good on its own, (Bought the soundtracks) and there's so much DLC you'll be busy forever if you pick them up. If you are looking for a great challenge with awesome tunes, this one's good.

Fun but the menu is overwhelming. The design is awkward due to it loading like a list but even after that, everything looks cluttered and unorganized. Going through the ? doesn't help either as it doesn't thoroughly explain how everything works, and changing the avatar proves difficult as it is visually difficult to see during gameplay.

Fyn. May 5, 2019

The UI is a letdown since I was expecting a similar design compared to the arcade versions. Other than that, it's a good game. Really like the gameplay. A lot of things to take note of but it's fine. Also no performance issues on my phone. I was wondering if AC-Extra difficulties will be implemented in the future?

Bla. _. May 21, 2022

It's a good game I'll give you that, but some of the music is unplayable, because the game kept crashing.

Pyr. May 12, 2022

I absolutely love this game! It's a perfect combination of visuals, music, and controls!

Lol. Apr 25, 2022

Give me my money back I bought a pack to play since I loved the game, but the next day the game started crashing repeatedly, now it won't let me play the pack I bought. Not only that, it won't even let me play the game in general, so give me my money back.

Be careful - when trying to bring your save data to device number 7, the support staff does nothing but spout delays and excuses when trying to unregister your old devices, something which should be resolvable in a matter of seconds if they were worth their salt. The save data only has a 6 device limit per account. So, if you ever have to upgrade your device (which is often) and you want to access the content you have already paid for, they will resist you. Not good for business!
