GROWLr: Gay Bears Near You

Ive been using this app for years and for the last 2 or 3 the quality of the app has dropped drastically. Spam accounts run rampant, a UI that feels split between how it used to be and how they want it to be, and of course the drastic removal of various features for people who don't pay. I understand the app needs to make money, but i thought that's why i was getting "shouts" for events, parties, and cruises.

Brilliant to meet like minded people(Men) and very good service. Although,if I try to send a photo to a guy it will not let me! Other than that,it great and reasonably priced. Not like other sites,that will keep on debiting your account,even though you have paid them for the registration. This site is not like that. Would recommend to other men.

This app has the worst interface and customer service. I set up an account and was suspended the exact same day and no one has explained to me why I suspended despite several emails asking for an explanation. I didn't violate any of their terms of service nor did I have any explicit content showing. The only email back I received was the first simply stating my account had been suspended. On top of that the app kept rejecting my photos for 'lewd' content despite being fully clothed in all.

I think the developer should look in Amazon Appstore for PC Subsystem Android. Currently, I am not able to use in Window 11 due to the app required Google Play Service to load the app which is not available in Amazon based subsystem Android. Thus, it would be best to include in Amazon subsystem or remove dependant on Google Play Service requirement.

Old. Clunky. GUI dull. The app is soooooo old fashion compared to other apps. User interface is very clunky. Seriously looking to move off this app. 2 years later - just as clunky and out of date

The spam/scammers on this app are out of control. Starting to look like 1 in 10 profiles are BS and will ask to take your chat to whatsapp/line a few lines in. Other than that, it's basically usable, but free profiles can't see your unlocked album except for 3 tiny thumbnails, and chats are not stored on the server. A lot of work left to get this app up to scratch, and it's been running for years.

Very few if any Bears on this app anywhere or even other bear sub categories (otters, cubs, wolves, polar bears etc..). This could be a larger problem in the bear community for all I know, but on this app in my area at least, it's nothing but chasers and guys who have co-opted bear labels or even the app itself for there own purposes. I think it's the grindr crowd or some apps demographic has migrated there en mass bringing there culture with and disregarding bear norms. Regardless it's a bust.

Honestly I rarely use this app anymore. I get dozens of message every week from bots and report them, but they still remain. Also the app isn't as enjoyable if you don't pay, but I refuse to pay for the app with so much bot activity Update 5/22 Even more bot activity than before. Honestly it's pretty terrible when you can't even block them after reporting unless you're a premium member. I opened the app today and was immediately messaged by four bots.

Couldn't even make a profile. Just said "Due to the information you provided you may not make a profile at this time". I tried a different email, different passwords, different usernames. Same error. Pretty bad 👎 at least tell me whats wrong in your message so I can try to fix it. Ambiguous error messages just made me waste 30min of my time. Do better.

Growlr is one of the easiest apps to use, and lets you see your previous conversations which some of the other apps don't, so you can remind yourself of what you've said if it's been a long time, instead of having to have the conversation all over again.

Love love love this app. Grindr is a done monster in comparison. This is great for more mature guys (both mentally and physically), very interactive with the live streaming and the video chat facility. The search engines are great, menu layout is easy to navigate and use. Not gone onto Pro upgrade yet but I'm more inclined to on this app than I ever would have on Grindr as Id feel like it was earning it's bucks. Go go Growlr ❤️❤️😍😍

Really annoyed with the app. Can't get into my account, won't let me reset my account because they won't send me a reset confirmation email and I know it's the right email. Super disappointed because I use to app daily.

The Meet Group has done nothing but destroy this once great app. They keep trying to cram the live feature down everyone's throat. We need a new app made by actual bears again. They do nothing about all the spam accounts, NOTHING! They don't care about all the spam. They force you to display your age too. I understand they need to verify your age, but you should not be forced to Publicly Display It! No way to save messages. They only care about making money and THAT'S IT!

The glitch that annoyed me as a pro member has finally been fixed. And the app works as it had when I first subscribed. I'm sure not subscribing is just as good. But this is the app I choose to support

please allow chat, app data, or at least local messages backup, every time one change phone everything is lost! It's litterally the only app I'm not able to carry on another device.

OK I've been using this app for awhile now it's not that great but it is decent and until yesterday I didn't have any issues but now I can't register or make an account because it says based on the info I've given it can't register me an account at this time and I've tried multiple times . I don't know what happened or if I did something wrong but yeah that's pretty stupid that it won't let me make an account when I'm putting in my legit info

It's sort of an in-joke with users how terrible the app is, but definitely a much less toxic space than other apps. Regularly deletes messages, full of spam and phishing, the notifications are bizarre, and jam packed with clunky features that I don't think anyone really uses.

If you're going to force an update you should probably test the update to see that it works and doesn't just infinitely tell the user to hit a retry button over and over when launching the app I can't believe this s*** is still like this several days later. As if it wasn't bad enough when it actually function but you got a literal built-in bot message every single time you open the app.

I pay monthly subscription but am totally unable to open the app ....I can get in only when l receive a message .There is no way to contact the organisation to rectify the problem .l want to erase the app as it has many contacts l value . Right now l am totally disenchanted with Growlr having enjoyed its service over many years .lm hoping some one can help me resolve this frustrating problem

This app is generally a good idea. I loved a lot of things about the UI. But then this one thing makes it so unbearable & terrible & bad: that when people report you (for whatever reason) growlr will automatically suspend your account, and you have to send them an email to review it. This makes absolutely no sense whatsoever and is enfuriating as my account has been blocked 5 times within 2 days, so you can imagine my frustration. I'm done. Don't download the app; you'll lose your last nerve.

Growlr need yo get some competent software developers. Every app update is full of bugs. And there is very little concern for preserving user settings. As a software developer myself this is one of the worst apps in the market.

Just installed after a few years away. Hasn't changed much? Looks very outdated. So limited unless you pay for the Pro version. You get what you pay for I guess.

Lots of issues with the app. Their banning process is a joke and the amount of spammers are a joke. It's tricky to get your account started, unless you're a spammer then, no problem. They need to start taking some responsibility for their app.
