Gryphon Connect

It does the job but there are small technical issues that become incredibly irritating... like not saving the changes you make to schedules or profiles. Very frustrating to make changes only to find out later on that they didn't take. Now I just end up reentering the changes and refreshing over and over again until it holds.

The app worked great for the first 60days or so. It stopped working 3 weeks ago now and I'm not getting support from Gryphon to fix the issue. It has not updated any data since Dec 12th. I've done the basics of checking I have the latest version, I've uninstalled and reinstalled, etc. Nothing is fixing it. I've been waiting for a callback from support for a couple days now. I think until they update with a new version, I'm just out of luck.

I just installed Gryphon AX. I love it. I have some added value poind. The app is slow. I use Fing and Network Analyzer as network tool to monitor my LAN. It is great to add some of there functions to make scanning and recognizing devices easially. The app did not utilize the big screens to provide more information, but it scale the fonts. App missing search function (by mac address, ip, name ..). Some devices has dynamic MAC, that let it have different identity every day.

I used Gryphon for years. The router is good, but the app is buggy and routinely wipes out my parental control schedules (old app was better). Tech support is responsive but doesn't solve problems, escalate nor teach proven workaround steps. Start of "homework" time should add a brief "suspend", to stop any games. App should have an option for "allow access for next X minutes", with auto-suspend at the end. Version upgrades improve network performance & stability but add bugs to the app.

New interface is a step up for sure. It's more compact and straight forward. Profiles are easy to manage for each family member. I really like the control it gives. Works well for families and smart homes as well. Each iteration gets better and better. That's how apps should evolve....

App is not very user friendly, very glitch when trying to modify, super hard to find and add devices to network. Really miss Kids wifi- wish someone could bring back their format.

Do like the hardware, but the app needs few valuable features: 1. These days most houses have 20+ devices, thus a search feature should be added 2. Golden feature request-allow profile access to to only certain sites, rather than turn on and off sites like wack a mole. Eg. Allow site A, site C and disallow ALL other sites! 3. The history/tracking feature of a device does not update fast enough or seems like does not show certain sites the device visited 4. App refresh is a little slower

App works well. I like the ability to set different profiles and control them independently. Knocked 1 star because I have have issues with Xbox update getting blocked and have yet to figure out why even when working with Gryphon support. Have to move the Xbox to an unfiltered profile in order for it to work.

Ever since the new app update I am considering letting the subscription expire. It removes the bedtime schedule. I've reached out to customer support and although the issue gets resolved it continues to remove the schedule. I am also having to constantly ask the kids for their phone since they have figured out a way to bypass the router via a VPN.

I have used Gryphon router for 3 years to monitor and filter my teenagers wifi. We have over 20 devices connected. I have loved Gryphon for the ability to control all my children & devices in one spot. I miss the old app, it was so much more user friendly. I have had glitches with this new app & still haven't been able to set up bedtimes. Gryphon is not foolproof. There are porn sites out there that won't get filtered out. You must individually block them. The router is amazing, app so-so.

This is a great convenient app to manage my gryphon! Its very user friendly and intuitive. If I could add a feature I would add device identification in the Web browsing user history.

Great app that lets you control your gryphon devices with ease. If i need to suspend internet and can with like 3 clicks. I have had no issues with the device or service in the year ive owned.

Haven't been able to set bedtime schedule in months and months. Every time I try to change it, the app closes out.

Worked pretty well but the last update requires 2FA and limits simultaneous login to one person. My spouse and I are always kicking each other out as we add additional screen time for our kids or check activity and my spouse needs the code texted to my phone, which is annoying. P.S. My spouse is set as a secondary admin and has been for years. This behavior started after the last update.

The app is excellent for parental controls. Very easy to use. The newest update however, seems to be slow to respond. When checking how much screentime someone has used, it's very slow to show the time. There are other issues but I'll leave it at that. The older version was perfect. I feel gryphon will address this ad they are actively updating their products.

Great App, great product. The app is easy to use, but it took a little bit at first to get used to it and fast at using it. It's very simple though once you poke around a bit. Great for setting bedtimes, looking at browsing history, seeing who all is on your network, then you know who is home even. The hardware is super powerful too and fast. I just got another guardian just to expand coverage out to the far corners of our home.

Meh .. still doesn't auto update. Check on the screen time and it might say last updated a long, long time ago. Not only does it not automatically update there is no way to force an update. Compared the last version the visual appeal is better. On the other hand, having a home screen that prompts me for a subscription is bloody annoying. I find it difficult to figure out how to set different screen times different bedtimes on different days, and much of the interface is not intuitive.

This system is overall quite easy to use and excellent. Set up was quick and easy with no problems. It's very intuitive and not at all difficult to set parental restrictions. I only rated it 4 stars because it says you can block specific sites from being accessed and while it does block most that you enter, there's like 2 or 3 that I've input in different ways and it does not block access. That's really the only issue, other than the occasional can't gain access to your Wi-Fi to make changes.

The approach to managing connected devices on the LAN is great! The app notifies me anytime a new device connects, and at that point I can assign it to a user profile which governs how Gryphon treats it (e.g., kids, family, guests). I can also designate the type of device, since a sprinkler controller or a smart light switch should behave very differently than a tablet or smart phone. One feature worth highlighting (among several) is the ability to block new devices from connecting to the network - even if the user of that device has the correct SSID and passcode - unless you as the administrator approve that device. This provides a second layer of protection for your network, since even if someone learns your passcode and is standing outside your house or apartment building trying to get onto your network, they can't unless you approve it. The setup was very smooth. Install the app, scan the barcode on the router, power it up, establish a secure bluetooth connection, and away it goes. I ultimately installed a second device for a mesh network, and the app walked me through that as well. Gone are the days of being dependent on the features (or lack thereof) of the phone or cable company's combination modem/router!

The old interface wasn't great, but at least it worked. The new interface is a major step backwards. Mostly because it doesn't work. User's show blocked in the app when they aren't, you've got to refresh multiple times to be sure. Schedules don't work sometimes. I catch my kids watching TV when it should be paused (and my App says it is). I want Gryphon to work very badly. I think, from a technical standpoint, building this into the router is the right way to do it. Disney Circle's workaround seems hackish, but at least the device actually does what it's supposed to. Very frustrating.

Much improved. I wish the old version had notified me that it had been superceded. I missed all of the firmware updates released since then, until I posted a support request and was advised of the new app. This is a completely different app, not an upgrade. Weird approach. Now the routers are much more reliable and performance has improved. New and beneficial features are being released at a nice pace. Good work by the Gryphon team, listening to their customers!

New app design is horrible. The app is totally NOT user friendly. Can't find a darn thing anymore. New devices added are not located in unmanaged devices. Changing the color theme does not work. Heck, even the gryphon doesn't work as well as it used to. The darn thing doesn't show all of the devices that are on the network and one of the repeaters always has 0 (zero) devices on it. I used to like gryphon but not so much anymore.

New app redesign is now almost unusable. Makes no sense. Can't figure out how to allow a new device. Can't even find it. This is a terrible update. About ready to just disconnect the router and find something else with a interface that works. The last interface was ugly and clunky, but at least it worked. This one is pretty but non functional.

While I LOVE the concept, it has been frustrating. The app freezes up constantly. I have to uninstall and reinstall often. Then it still doesn't work. I have to physically unplug the router for 20 seconds often. My app kept saying my family computer was "suspended" but we were able to access the internet on it all day long even after I had done both of the things mentioned above. Customer service had no answers. I am almost done which is sad because I really wanted this to work.

I have been using gryphon routers for years now. They were a little finicky at first but continually gotten better. Now I have the tower and one mesh router. Coverage is good in my 2 story home and speeds are reliable. I love the parental controls and filters. They recently added the ability to white list or black list sites which is nice. Only 2 things I would like to see is a website where I could do the same things as the app and the ability to filter YouTube at a more granular level.

Good app for controlling my network setup. The Gryphon hardware is excellent with excellent support. Sometimes I have a hard time finding what I'm looking for in the app but that may be just because I don't spend a lot of time in the app. In general, it's pretty intuitive but does take a little time to get used to it . Recent updates to the app give me even more flexibility so happy to see constant support and expanded functionality!

Great product, horse &#% app. The parental controls on the router are amazing, and the ability of the router to handle my network and all devices are the best I've had. That being said, the app sucks... Users don't always show up, the usage times glitch, showing unlimited time left when there is a set amount, or showing no internet time used when the web log clearly shows usage. I would love to see custom splash pages when internet is turned off.

App is slow, and sometimes has errors for the status of a device or person being managed. So, a person showing that they're back online, won't actually have access. It's also very difficult to remove old devices. We in an AirBnB and collect tons of new devices on the router... We end up needing to remove them one by one, very very slowly.

Was a 5 star. But ever since the new update, I constantly have to reschedule the screen time to shut my kids profile at a certain time. It tends to set it's own time instead of the previous time I set. If they want an extension for their devices I have to reschedule it instead of tapping the toggle on the last version. I would love it if they fix this issue. I shouldn't have to keep constantly looking to see if my schedule is still set

It's OK, but not as good as the last product we had. Some obvious features that are missing...Can't see list of blocked URLs. You have to remember and search by name or see it in history only if child attempts to access again. Also, we used to be able to disable a schedule temporarily for a specified time after which it would re-enable automatically. This was very handy. Doesn't show all adjunct accesses that are being blocked making it impossible to enable some key school required sites.
