GTasks: Todo List & Task List

I've used GTasks for years and been really pleased with it. More recently, GTasks has become unstable, only partly synchronising across devices. Uninstalling and re-installing the app can provide a temporary fix. I've given up now and switched to the reliable Google tasks app, which is largely similar, but without the bulk management options. A shame because I much preferred GTasks before it became unreliable.

I had this list for almost 10 years. It used to be great. Then it started to occasionally and randomly just reorder all of the task line items you have in a task heading. There is a setting where it asks you how you want to do it. You can choose the order that you put them in. It ignores that and reorganizes them anyway. So it's very frustrating and I got rid of it. If you want a good one try the tasks list by Stephen Nottage it has the multicolored icon

Great program, tags would help. Biggest problem is it never finished synchronizing. It just spins, forever. I would suggest the programmers load up a thousand large items (a few tasks that are large .. thousands of characters), in a few dozen categories and test. it's a lot of data, but it's just text, should sync instantly. I am not sure, but I think an individual large item messes up sync somehow.

Worked at first, but once I added my Google account it slowed to a crawl and started crashing anytime it tried to sync or when i checked off a task. Kinda useless if it can't even perform the most basic functions it was designed for, isn't it? It also slowed down my entire phone when running on the background, so I can only assume the programmers didn't know what they were doing. It's too bad because the interface was promising. Unfortunately it runs like a pile of trash. Avoid.

I used this app for years and loved it so much I bought the premium key. After buying a new phone the premium key no longer works and I am constantly getting pop up ads which is extremely infuriating. I tried contacting the developer and got no response. Seems like this has happened to a lot of other people on the developers don't seem to care enough to fix it or even respond to their users. Uninstalled until the premium key problem is fixed (if it ever is)

Have been using this app since 2013 and loved it...until recently. I paid for the premium key which allows me to schedule auto-recurring tasks. That part still works but like others have reported the app no longer syncs with the desktop version of Google Calendar. Based on reviews posted by others I don't think it's worth my time to report the problem to the developer...it seems they're already aware of the problem. Very disappointed.

There was a time that I could make a shopping list and uncheck items from the list. They would jump to the top. While shopping I could check them off and they would disapear to the bottom. Now I must scroll down the entire list to find what is unchecked! What a PAIN! It is also not uncommon that when I want to edit an item, It won't let me. I used to be abke to edit items rather than delete it and reinput it. These are NOT improvements to the older version. Is there a link to download it?

I have used this app for many years and liked it a lot, but then I had to reinstall it, and in the process the paid features went away. Now i am not able to get them back, and the gtasks key has disappeared from the app store. So i couldn't even buy them again if i wanted to. I sent two emails to the developers many weeks ago, but have not gotten my any response. Very disappointing! I'll have to look for a different task app.

After the last update in mid June, it no longer sends notifications to my Wear watch. i emailed the dev a few days ago, but I've read to get a response of any kind. Edit: syncing was apparently addressed, but notifications weren't; all other apps work/notify just fine. I'm moving on to Microsoft's To Do, since it works as it should.

Agreed this was the best, used this app for so long was quick & reliable..since last update its SUPER SLOW, takes 10sec to open, & adding tasks takes many times longer. a new nag with ads when you want to remove completed tasks that will loop you in circles until you hit the correct exit text. It still works but it's slow and frustrating now, was great while it lasted. ** new update 3.0.3 so far seems to have fixed issues, back to being almost as fast as when originally installed. thanks!!!

What happened to this once wonderful app? I've been using for years without issue. I even purchase the key to support developers. Now it's not syncing across my devices and is so out of whack! I see other reviews with the same issue. Are the developers planning to address this issue? I need to be able to access anywhere and it won't. I would give 5 stars if it worked like it did before.

I have to agree with other reviews. whatever the recent update is (within a few months of June 2019), it is making the app and widget act erratically. Adding to a list in "My Order" via the app or widget causes the task to randomly appear. Rearranging seems to just make it a mess. Possibly a sync or off-by-one error? Either way, terrible results and shows poor testing. I'll keep on eye on this app for fixes but trying others now.

Update 11/12/20: Problem still not fixed! Items no longer disappear, but rearranging items is still a headache! It shuffles them all out of order. Looking for a replacement app. 6/22/19: Your update on 6/17/19 stinks!! Gtasks worked smoothly for me before the update. Now, tasks are disappearing, and when I rearrange the order, it is moving the wrong items all over the place. This is very frustrating! I don't have time for this. Please fix it back!!

I like the app but I can't stand the glitches. I'll try to order tasks on a list by dragging, and when I do that the order goes back to how it was before when it tries to refresh or sync. This is on mobile data and wifi, makes no difference. It's so frustrating. I've had this app for years. I purchased the premium version as well. This issue has been going on for a while now. Is there any way to fix this?

Up to just recently this was nearly perfect todo app! I've been using this for years and it's simple and does the job. However, just recently a bad bug has surfaced. Right now, if my phone is in screen saver mode, I dont get any reminder notifications! I know notifications are configured on settings, because if I keep my phone open, it all works. UPDATE: fixed it by turning off battery optimization. device settings > apps > gtasks > battery info > optimization > not optimized Back to 5 stars!

Was a great app until recently but has now become maddeningly buggy. Tasks do not stay in the order you put them in and certain tasks jump to the top of the list no matter what you do to rearrange. Sync is now very slow and it gets very confused when you try to clear completed tasks, especially if you sync Google Tasks on another device with the calendar extention or a similar app. This all seems to have happened since Google changed the structure of Google Tasks so hoping an update will fix.

Great on some phones, not on others... On my Galaxy S8, I used this and loved how it automatically synced updates frequently enough. But I've noticed on my Pixel3 XL that not only does it not synchronize automatically, but the widget (GTask Scrollable) is broken: it only displays the state of your list when added, but never updated, even if you make changes within the app itself.

Looks great, missing essential features = unusable. 1. Fantastic widgets. Quickly became one of the centre structures of my day. ***Big mistake***. 2. Random reassortation of lists is NOT solved -- I installed fresh post-fix, and it's still there. 3. Inexplicably, devs refuse to provide the capacity to mark off 'undone' tasks (or defer recurrence of repeating tasks to a set period after completion, regardless of when initially due) on philosophical grounds! Subscription cancelled.

Can someone tell me how to hide the completed task? I don't want to delete them. I just want to make the incompleted task easier to see. My final rating will be based on. Funcationality (such as ability to toggle hide/view completed tasks). Support (If that application is supported by a web site and/or responses to email communication). The applicaton looks very promising, and will rate 5 stars if the two critical items above are met.

Great app, but lately issues start to pop up. It messes up the order of the items in a list if I rearrange them. And since today, if I change the due date, it disappears from Google Calender, (desktop version) and doesn't show up anymore on the new date. If I then change the due data again with Google Tasks (from google) it does show up in Google Calendar again on the newly entered date.

I used this app and liked it very much. The app had (and still has) a user-friendly interface and a wide range of sharing options - much better than the official Google tasks (android, windows). But last week I realized that syncing from Google tasks is problematic. Syncing "to" Google tasks is fine, but syncing "to" gTasks is bad. For example, what is in Google tasks with the date "yesterday" is in gTasks with the date "today" or "tomorrow". Sometimes it does not syncing at all "to" gTasks. Can you help me? What's the problem? I checked it on two mobile phones - the same problem.

I LOVE this app! I use it every day. I purchased the Premium Features years ago. This month my cell phone died and I had to re-download the app. When I did the Premium Features disappeared. I can't seam to get them back. I emailed their team and got no response. In the app things will say that the Premium Features are needed for certain things but there is not way to purchase the Premium Features. I did some research and this purchase is no longer on my purchase history so I couldn't even report that there was an issue.

I've been using this app for years. Great app. can't imagine using Android with out it. It's never crashed. i bought the pro version after about a week of using the free version. The only improvement that i would make is adding a numerical priority feature. The starred/unstarred doesn't always cut it it. But this is real minor for me.

Update 10 / 16 / 19. My tasks are now being randomly reordered sometimes again. The app is still somewhat usable, but this makes it much less useful. Older update. Thank you for the recent update. It has fixed the task ordering and synchronization problem that was a major issue for me. I was about to switch to another app, but now I can stay with yours, which is one of my most important apps.

Today I uninstalled this app after having used it for many years. For the longest time I felt it was the best personal task manager. This latest update was an insult. First, the persistant obnoxious large ads on every page, then the infuriating persistant popups, then, the inability to reinstall my paid premium version. I know I am not alone by stating, this is not how you should treat your loyal users. In any case, I now recommend Google Tasks. It's great, free, & integrates well with calendar.

It used to be a great app. Now it has been buggy for several weeks and hasn't been updated in a long time. I use manual sort and it has been randomly shuffling the lists I've made along with other problems. The app called When.Do seems to work very well as a replacement.

Been a happy paid user of GTasks for many years. When I changed phone, it downgraded me to the unpaid version. They removed the paid app from the store! They have a new app called Tick Tick that requires monthly/yearly subscription to access full functionality. I am not paying them again so I am moving to Google Tasks app. It gives me the same functions as the paid GTasks; and is fully integrated to Google Calendar. I can use it on all my devices and notification sound is set via Calendar app.
