so this app was working great for me for about a week. then it just stopped working. I uninstalled, reinstalled reset and restarted my phone multiple times and nothing is working still. I have sent about 10 messages to who ever is in charge of the app. and that did nothing. they didnt reach out or fix the app or problem at all. I just tried re downloading it after a week and it's still ALL BAD! I'm frustrated and this is dumb and a waste of time. DONT WASTE YOUR TIME!!!
I have to uninstall and reinstall every time I want to use this app. It always tells me it can't find a facility list because I need to check my internet connection. My internet is fine. Horrible sound and picture quality also. Edited 4/30/22 This app is even worse than before I stopped doing video visits 4 months ago. Same thing, says I don't have internet service when I do.
I've been unable to load the facility list for 3 days now, this is after trying different Internet connections in different areas, deleting and reinstalling the app multiple times and refreshing my phone a million times. I ended up missing my video visit 2 days ago because of this problem. It's extremely frustrating. Please try and fix this ASAP
At the beginning of my visit, the video was not audible, I made some adjustments, then the video appeared with my friend on the other end. Wearing headphones makes it very awkward, but at least this communication is available. Overall the experience was delightful, some glitches.
This app will charge you even if you put in the wrong security code for your credit card. Sometime you wont get a visit scheduled even if you paid. I have not been automatically refunded as I was told I would be when I called to customer service. The customer service is very bad they don't even look into the problem. I believe they don't even have an option to refund on their end. Its sad because it has become a recurring problem. Oh yeah of course the visit volume is bad on the inmates end. The inmate only gets like 5 minutes of hearing the other person. Should be fixed asap a waste of time and money.
There are always problems every visit. My view is upside down and there's no way to fix it. If I turn my device, then I'll be upside down for my audience. The sound isn't loud which makes it hard to hear. The app doesn't let me see or hear until about 2 minutes into the countdown (wasting time). Needs work.
This system is ineffecient. Very frustrating to have the opportunity to speak with a jailed family member to have this system audio not work or when it does to have so much noise and static that you can't hear each other. Very unreliable. Some days the video is just black. You can't hear or see each other. GTL doesn't want you to update your Microsoft system. But if you don't, you won't get the necessary system and security updates to protect your computer. They should remove themselves or be removed and allow another company to take over video visitation since this system obviously isn't working. I paid for two visits that did not work and have tried calling several times for a refund and held for more than 15 minutes each time and still was not able to get customer service or support on the phone. This is very bad.
Although there are some problems with this app as others have voiced there are problems hearing at times but if you get a good enough microphone it's not that bad and it is better than no visits at all right now they're giving out free visit for folks to that's a wonderful thing for them to do for the covid pandemic I am glad I got this app and I will continue to use it and yes I would recommend it if you can't do in prison visits like I can't
This App is great! Although my family has nothing but iPhones luckily found an android about 5 minutes before my visit and downloaded both apps quickly and it shows very clearly! So convenient bc I live in a different state! It does say u need both apps so I downloaded both... maybe that's why some aren't working and go close to your router for good quality
I'm constantly having issue while trying to video visit with my LO. He can't see me. He says I'm always pixilated. He is staticky sounding, and he is always in slow frames and his voice is way off in the video. I have deleted this app several times to see if that would help. I feel frustrated I'm not getting good quality and paying for visits. I also have wifi and use ear buds with the video
The app works, as I have had two successful video visitation sessions with it. The backbone service is not the greatest though. During the last visitation, there were connection problems about three different times. During both visits, there was annoying echo on my end, where I hear myself talk (while using earbuds).
Booking was easy But the visit dosnt work. Screen is black on both and we couldn't hear or see each other. But the timer was counting down I booked another one to try on a different phone but that didn't work either
Its a nice way to video call your inmate, but the call always drops, the video doesnt play or the sound is slower than the movement. Ive been on wifi, tried using my own data and even tried a personal hotspot and it doesnt help. Ive called the company to address this issue but there hasnt been an improvement with the app.
Today was the first day I got a visit through the app. I couldn't see him. My screen was black. He couldn't hear meat all. I had to write everything down on a piece of paper. There was so much static I could barley hear him and sometimes the sound would completely go out.
The video quality is bad, there is a serious lag in the voice and sometimes the video freezes. I just recently switched to iOS and this app is not available on iOS so i have to keep an Android phone so I can use this app to visit my loved one... đŸ˜¡ add to iOS please!!!
Always have connectivity issues, it's beyond frustrating and isn't really worth the hassle! Believe the majority of the one star reviews on this one! Try the free visits first but I wouldn't pay for anything extra; you're just better off sticking with the phone calls!
Andrew Smith Maybe people are complaining because they've spent their hard earned money for a visit and the quality of it isn't what it suppose to be. It's not about upgrading a phone but more so the lack of an app that was put in place for visitation. I am happy your visits are wonderful but many aren't. I for one don't like the inconsistency of not being able to log in when it chooses to act up.
Horrible. I've tried 4 days in a row. It echoes horribly. There is a extremely high pitched buzzing sound the whole 30 minutes. I bet if someone at GTL had a loved one locked up they wanted to visit with they'd get right to fixing the problem. This has to be the only app on the play store that has ALL bad reviews, but is still on here. They don't give a damn about people that are incarcerated. A damn shame
This is very sad... every video visit I set up continues to echo even with expensive ear buds and or it says that it's experiencing technical difficulties... I believe if everyone just stopped using this and not spend our hard earned money that this company would have no choice but to fix it ... when calling it takes at least 1 and a half hours on hold to get a hold of someone who cannot even help .maybe a new company can figure out a way to ensure that our loved ones can have a good video visit
easy to use when it works, app haven't worked in over 2 weeks. Contacted support twice, which you can only do through email. It has been a week, no one got back with me haven't seen my loved on going on 3 weeks because the app crashes. Should also have a website that you can go to when the app is glitchy.
Just inform you that the video was fine but the sound quality was super poor. He can hear me but I could not hear him and my volume was up full. You need to adjust your volume on that end so others can hear on this side. Yes I would use it again but only if you correct the volume.
I've never been more frustrated in my life! you have to remember the baby boomers aren't thrilled about the computer...I just learned how to do Facebook....you have no # so people like me who can't hear very well and have severe arthritis...my first # is messing up....so I tried to use my other number....I have a half of a notebook of step by step and people that are really good at the net couldn't do it!. please remember older than 60.are still alive! đŸ˜¡
This app does NOT work! I have an iphone so I went out and bought this laptop and can't even get this app to open correctly. I can go on the site on my phone and it will let me schedule a visit perfectly fine but once I try on the laptop it skips staps and won't load the page to select a facility. I had to uninstal it several times and no matter what it still won't load properly. I don't know why they don't allow iphones to be used?
Reading the reviews really helped me to watch out for certain errors. Like the the (2 of 2) app icon will not appear, but its enabled, as long as (1 of 2) is downloaded. I was able to see the time before the visit at the bottom then I was directed to the page where I were directed to hit "Start Video". There was a lot of echoing with and without my headphones. Overall, I'm excited I was able to see my baby! We didn't even care the echo was mocking us lol. Serious improvements are needed ASAP!
