This is a very capable retro JRPG but it doesn't seem quite as ... finished as Guardian Quest 1 I guess? It has some odd little glitches that don't really affect anything much, like a number appears next to characters' names when they cast spells, and the Healus spell can raise characters' HP beyond maximum when used outside battle. And too bad it doesn't have Guardian Quest 1's item dragging in menus. All in all though it is a fun game in early DQ style, well worth playing for retro JRPG fans.
Enjoyed and completed guardian quest 1 in spite of the bugs. This one is worse in many ways. So many that my first review hit the character limit before mentioning the bugs. Gameplay is more cumbersome and less inspired than the first. No option to buy the ads away. Bugs are present and minor such as not getting items and gold from chests. Except one major bug. If your screen orientation changes it loads your last save. The game simply sont worth the trouble.
Update: now if you use the magic quake game kicks to main menu more progress lost If your screen flips from tilting reverts back to saved file progress lost instantly... if this can be fixed 4.5 stars
Fun game but bad controls. Please fix the controller to be a gamepad style or move the arrows away from each other. Also the quake spell crashes the game when you cast it
Keeps crashing when I try to enter the first cave. Nothing else possible to do without this. Please help!
This game needs an update. Controls are bugged now, moving in any direction is nearly impossible.
Stuck on where to find the red key. Also, an in-game access to a world map would be useful, but other than that, good game.
Be Helleva Game if it would stop Crashing near end. Really STOP the crashing/ closing!! Can't Stress Enough STOP CRASHING/ CLOSING!!! Great Game Aside Crashing/Closing, could be Longer/ more Areas to visit/ Town's & Side QUEST as well. Fix DAMN CRASHES/ CLOSING!!!! 😎B
GLITCHY! If my phone gets turned sideways, I get thrown back in time a few thousand coins and I have to fight a bunch more monsters to buy the same dumb equipment that I just bought! CANCELLED.
quake/meteor spells cause the game to crash. very poor enlish in the game. but the game play itself is a solid throwback to the games coming out during the nes days
Great Game downside if you turn the screen it will crash if you go in a certain area it will crash it will be way better if the creators fix the crash
Quake terminates the game, enemy mages are so broken, not really good game. And not to mention, Lucas' spells are so useless since his basic attacks are stronger.
I thought they would learn from their first game. Nope. It's even worse. Right off the bat the controls were so terrible I just deleted the game. Absolutely do not recommend unless you are a masochist.
no sound, crashes whenever you tap attack a monster, crashes whenever you rotate the screen...
Im sure its just as good as the first one but no sound :( so I wont play. ( And crashed in the beggining btw.)
Horrid controls, character goes in wrong direction 80% of the time.
Glitched and sent me back to level 1 even though it kept saying "saved successfully"
I loved the first game! This one has no sound! Please fix this as soon as possible!
Good game but last boss is difficult to kill need more level to kill it is embarrassing
It was good but there is no sound. It takes away from the overall joy of the game.
Could use a world map and direction to next quest later on in the game
It's the same with the 1st game you're attempt at copying a great game has failed miserably
OMG!! You totally redid the whole game and took out the in-app purchases!! hala freakin lujah!! I'm the happiest (56 year old) boy in the world!!
Its ok can you add some music to this game.😐
good game but keeps unsaving game it sucks not worth downloading
This is a fun little indie Dragon Quest clone. If you've played any of those games, you know what to expect. My only problem with this title is that it doesn't feel finished. Several of the later spells crash the game, there's no music, and it's really short, especially compared to the first one. This game is also easier than the original, though that game had such a high difficulty spike that I would consider that a positive. I hope the developer keeps working on this game. It's really a little hidden gem that deserves to be played.
There's no music. But the game is fun so far, Also make sure any spell effects work as intended as I notice buffs don't seem to work in the first game. So while fixing that check and make sure everything works in this game
I got Alice but went to the house with her wish I could find a walkthrough about ready to give up
The spells keep disappearing on Luna after I reload the game I dont see them anywhere
I absolutely loved the first Guardians Quest game so to see a follow up had me excited. However upon starting the first thing I noticed was the absolute lack of any music or sound effects. Now I have long since said that music is just as important to the game as graphics and gameplay. Beyond that the game is a glitchy mess. Unfortunately I can't recommend this one.
