Guess The Artist

Pictures are low quality so you miss a lot of detail. Overrall its a shallow app, that only shows you authors and doesn't actually teach you about the paintingd.

Overpriced and pretty useless. This app won't help to learn much about the art history. Is just collection of quizzes on the quite limited selection of paintings. You have opportunity to see all pictures before taking any quiz and you will see their authors, titles, year of being painted and museum where their are currently located. No description of painting, no any information about painter themselves. No even short and basic characteristic of the style/ movement.

Great app to learn about the wonders of art from the comfort of your palm.

As someone else already identified, there is no information abot artpieces, only a year and name of the author. Additionally, the pictures cannot be oriented to best fit the screen, and so they are too small on a phone. I believe that the enjoyement of art comes from deep impressions supplemented by artists' life stories, and reducing it to tiny flashcards is barbarous. It might nevertheless be a usefull learning aid.

This isn't an app to learn about art, but to memorize artist names/art piece pairings. It has no further info about the pieces beyond title/date/artist, nor links to any sites for more detail; in some cases doesn't even include a date(!). It's pretty, but you can't get a landscape view. Cool that it includes Russian artists Americans don't often learn about. To be fair by taking the tests first, I did come to recognize some Russianart Significant video ads (but not while looking at the art).

The GUI is surprisingly minimal. Expected something more visual. When an incorrect response is selected, the correct response is highlighted in green and then scrolls to the left too quickly for the brain to note the right answer and associate it with image. Can you add speed setting?

3 stars for misleading description. The app is excellent for what it is and what it does. Premium for 1 year 7.99, gave me unlimited access to using this as a bunch of flashcards. That's it. You can learn & test the art piece vs the artist, the artpiece vs the art epoch, the artist vs the art style, etc associations. If you want to read about all these, you can - just not in this app.

I do love this app, it's even better than some fancy think manuals! I was wondering if it could be possible to add an option where you can make a search by city? I happen to travel a lot and I always wonder if there is any museum worth visiting because of a specific Art piece

Good app, I just wish they were more painters / periods and that it would give you below the painting the option to learn more about it. But as an intro to art, is really helpful

This application is amazing! It would be more awesome, if we, the users could memorize not just the artists, but the titles of the arts, and that when were they made. I mean, if there was test for these too. I love it, and I use it pretty often. Big thank you for the creators!

This is not a learning app. I appreciate the quality digital rendering of the art pieces however this app does not provide hardly anything beyond a title for each work. Look else where if you seek to further your knowledge about art history.

Great app, but I wish they could add the title and the style in the quizz for each painting Also it would be great to choose if we want to display name first or surname first, because the way it is done rn is a bit confusing for me (French speaker)

It's not a complete approach to learning art history, more like flashcards for matching artwork to creator name. I'm using this app in conjunction with art history podcasts, and it's a great combination to get the basic visuals here + the story from the podcasts.

Fun little app. From a western perspective it feels like it has an agenda... I really struggled with the disproportionate amount of gloomy Soviet artists. Other than that it was fun and worked perfectly. It would be nice to see different versions for modern and contemporary art.

Pretty cool, nice way to learn. They could definitely add some more info about the artists/pictures. Also add a "continue" or "back" after you study the level pictures/artists. But otherwise, pretty nice.

Artly, for your response on learning art history, I beg to differ. It is a good challenge to get the artist correct, if that's what you intend for this app, but there are so many more ways to learn art history. You might like Art Through the Ages if you want to get more people to like this app.

Even though the learning techniques arefast-paced, take it from someone that has overcome their learning disabilities, and the naysayers that come with them, it's very engaging; with the love of art, traditional and new-school, I'm crushing it, and enjoy learning about art and the history behind it.

Beautifully designed app with a focused interface and great images! I got the pro version right away. The only improvement I can suggest right now is to have high-res images of the artworks.

Absolutely love this app, I paid the premium Subscription which is very reasonable and I love being able to learn and test my knowledge of artists and their works. This app has broaden my learning of art and the artists and I recommend this app to anyone wanting to learn about art or a certain artist and their work. Definitely 5 out of 5 on the art work alone.

Art of the day doesn't have any information about the art shown other than the title and artist. The learning mode doesn't have any info about the meaning or style behind a piece of art. It's just memorizing artist names, basically. It's superficial and not what it could be.

Only thing I don't like are the ads, but hey, it's a free app! Might purchase it eventually. I like the fact that they give you a one-time purchase option. I HATE SUBSCRIBING TO EVERYTHING!!

There is so much to learn about an artist and the their drawings , but the app just shows the drawings with captioned names and artists, it is so much limiting the knowledge of the user. It would be more helpful if i could tap on the image and could learn more about the arts' questioned posed, how the eras they were drawn in affected their evolution andalso what question was the artist trying to put forth‼

Forces you to learn about art in a highly structured way unless you pay for premium... But starts you by rote memorizing famous artists, instead of learning in chronological order, historical context, or geographical area. This is an awful way to "learn art history."

I would like more information about the art. That's why the 4 stars.

The app experience is great. I rate 4 stars because it lacks an essential feature i.e you can't view the artworks you save to your favourites from that "Favorites" tab. Please add that.

Is informative, but you can give more options in the way of learning, not only one. So different ways of organising the lessons so that it doesn't get boring and you can learn faster

I'm slightly confused by this app, is the only way to learn about paintings just to do a quiz on who painted it? I thought there would be more in depth learning then just browsing through photos and then naming the artist.

It is entertaining and quite educational. I think it would be nice if the stories or histories associated with the paintings would be included.

There's a bug, I just passed some levels and for some reasons when I press "My profile" it closes itself. Please fix it, otherwise I really enjoy this app.
