Not as many variants as I would like and I've noticed that it doesn't even have the few that I already knew. But it has a simple UI that quickly and clearly shows the notes within each chord so that I can at least make my own variant as needed without me having to figure out these notes by looking at various variants when trying to find options for the more complicated chords. Besides I havent been able to find any other apps that show many variants so this is really the most useful for me now.
This app is so easy to work with, clear and simple display, navigation for chord variations a doddle and as a bass player brilliant for when the "Hendrix" guitarist throws you a 'Adim7flat5'...I can now throw him a serious arpeggio using notes from said chord!! And it's a lot easier than thumbing through pages of printed stuff. Excellent app.
This app is excellent! Functions perfectly. However, the one frustrating thing is that there isn't chord names next to the individual chord, and my ear isn't good enough to recognize it. It'd be so helpful if the names were added to the chords and I'd give it 5.
this is an incredible app. No annoying ads or reminders to rate. It also has more chords than competitive apps and they are laid out intuitively with recommended finger positions. Finally it will show the notes in the chord as letters (A, A# etc) or as intervals (m3, M3).
I've relied on chord checks several times and find its absolutely useful. On the other spectrum lyrics accessed together with its chords are quick-er and I find I currently limit myself with that mainly to save time switching to a separate search for a Chord List. However its appreciated when necessary.
I don't take my time to write reviews often, but the ease, simpleness, and convenience of this app forced me write something. Dear app creator, If the app/play store was willed with creators like you. The world would be a better place. No ads. No in app purchases shoved in my face. Just a plain, simple chord app. All in one page. It's not broken up into multiple pages. Very consider and easy to use and read. THANK you. !!!
Pretty good. Good UI (easy to search for any particular chord.) Good variety of chord voicings. Not 5 star because some of the most basic chord shapes are not included. E. G. The open 1st string on the most basic "cowboy" or 1st position C major chord. (Adding the g on 3rd fret is of course a variant.) And the "inside" shape for a dom7 chord, which resembles a 1st position C7, but with muted 1st and 6th strings, is not shown. This movable, comping chord is a very, very common chord shape.
this has to be an app for people who I think already know how to read music, or are established guitar players. I've been playing by ear for about five years I never learned how to read music so, I could not decipher anything on this app. I have learned chords previously from Googling them or watching YouTube videos, but this particular interface has all of these ambiguous letters and numbers when you ask for one basic chord position. I deleted app after review.
Really love this app. Very clean display, easy navigation of chord types, and true to its intended purpose. A huge bonus is that it is ad free. Thank you for this wonderful go to resource.
Does exactly what it's supposed to do and nothing more. Easy to navigate and shows several different shapes for any conceivable chord. Perfect for someone like me that's started playing again after a layoff of several years.
Just started using it a minute ago and already impressed. It allows for quick changes to chord options. The chords are correct but may just include unfamiliar "optional" notes.
I can't recognised any chord. I looked for simple chords like c or g to see how the app works and got chords shown I couldn't recognise or find somewhere else at the internet. After 15 years learning simple songs a totaly confusing app. I couldn't find 1 chord who is shown as it get normal played.
Looks like an unused touch event (graphic effect). It would be so great to be able to store chords for a piece and then share the graphics via email to print out. , WhatsApp or w/e
Exactly what a musician needs without any annoying ads. Allows switching between notes and intervals for all shapes. Perfect for its intended purpose.
Great app the thing that bugs me is where you have the chords to identify each string your holding down. normally that spot is for the tunning you're in like standard e.a.d.g.b.e it was a bit confusing at first and then I realized it is standard tuning
I appreciate the app having no ads but - there's some really unusual combinations of chords that are included and the most common variants seem to be excluded.
Does exactly what I need for my lessons prep. Good layout especially top bar showing the three components. Brilliantly simple. Perfect.
Keep it exactly like this. But maybe add an audible sound of the chord? Keep It up! Love there's no ads!
It works well but sometimes it just doesn't have the most simple or commonly used option, which makes me wonder about the chords I am less familiar with. For this reason I am trying to find another app.
I've used this application before and for some dumb reason, got rid of it. found some other chord charts that you had to be a rocket scientist to operate. this is a straight forward, no B.S. app.
nice app simple shows all the cords you need for rock it's new to me but first impression is what I go by and great so far.
It doesn't show the common or proper way to play chords, it just automatically generates positions (no matter how impossible to play) with the chord's notes in them
As I'm left handed, this app didn't work for me. It would have been useful to have a flip function so it could be used by left handers.
Excellent app - easy to use and my son is using it as an aid to check he has his CAGED chords and fragments fingered correctly.
I really love this app. It's so easy to me as a beginner and the most satisfying thing is no ads!
Great layout and design...but it is missing Aug7. It has Aug and Aug7b9 but no Aug7? Perhaps I am missing something? Would give it 5 stars otherwise.
Very useful as finder and reference. Thanks for keeping it clutter-free.
Looks alright I think. Could benefit from some explanation of the UI and what all these abbreviations mean for people just starting on guitar. Completely baffled about what's going on in the top of the screen in the blue and the toggle view button doesn't help matters. Also, not sure if it's supposed to do anything when you tap a chord diagram but, nothing happens aside from a slight animation indicating that you tapped the diagram. All that being said, there are chord diagrams for free. Good.
