I wish there was a way to get my money back. I found that I could write tabs in the note section, which was the only reason I wanted this app. It was a relatively slow process but I got the whole song written out and the only thing to do with the tabs after that point is delete them which I accidentally found only minutes after finishing. Gone, no way to get them back, with just a light swipe to the right.
You guys need to update this app. Certain parts of songs where there is a duration of a note, sustain for long periods of time or indefinitely. I have to pause the playback on the tab to get the note to stop its duration. Its quite annoying as it makes the tab sound cheap or inaccurate when its not. When playing the same tabs, because there are many, on the desktop version of Guitar Pro this same occurrence does not happen. Other than that, the app is great.
I really want to give this more than just 2 stars, but it just doesn't stand up to the desktop version considering what you pay for it. Don't get me wrong, this is a helpful tool for viewing compositions and ideas, but the user experience is clunky at best and needs some addressing. Some good improvements I'd like to see: - put the home button further away from the play and pause button -when songs are downloaded/uploaded enable the files name to avoid constantly renaming files I still love GP!
Naaagh, I love the PC program. Learnt guitar and wrote maaaaaany songs in a wide range of instruments but the mobile version is terrible. It won't give me the option to create a tab except if I'm connected to the WiFi (???) and the Settings menu is basically "Tablet mode" on or off. Once fixed, review will be updated. I cannot stand such issues in a paid app.
A great tablature app for the aspiring guitarist on the go. Something I'd like to see improved are the sound samples because chords become far too loud and low notes are far too quiet, especially on 7 or 8 string guitar. A new sample library would really step up the quality of the app. The desktop version has decent samples, why not just port those over? Like my phone can play xbox games from 2001, I think it can handle some 8-bit sounds.
I think that the price is okay for what you get, there are a few issues that I am currently facing: 1. I absolutely dislike that I cannot scale the control dock. On a tablet it is unnecessarily large, it would be a nice option to scale it. 2. I personally use a Samsung Galaxy Tab S6 with DeX, but I cannot use my bluetooth keyboard for controls. It would be good to have the basics covered (use numbers for frets, backspace for del etc.) Would be nice to have solutions for these in the future :)
Main guitar learning app for years, absolutey love it. The song list is huge, the app is flexible and compatible with the desktop version. Just wish it had better organization tools for the tabs, like folders structures. It gets crowded and confusing, couldn't export my PC folders system into the pocket app so it makes it hard to find my stuff, other than this app it's a gem.
Guitar Pro really is great for making your own music tablature, realistic high quality melodies, and effects. However, I have but only just one gripe that is with the options to export the files. There should be another way (besides third party sites) to translate or conversion with the transcribed riffs (You should support: .MIDI; .PDF; and/or uploading support, etc.); kinda annoyed by that! All in all, I still think it's probably one of the best digital guitar tab apps in the Google Play Store.
I cannot expect the App to have all the functionalities of a full screen and PC keyboard. One instrument at a time I understand (screen space) but sound wise, instruments sound as, sound processed piano samples. Slide, hammer-on, pull-off, don't sound like a guitar to me. Also some notes still ring during a pause, as if such pause is treated like a ligature. Best isn't always perfect. 1 star lost for the (piano-ish) samples.
Would be absolutely fantastic but the tempo constantly changes while playing. I held off on reviewing in hopes that they would resolve the tempo issue but it's been consistently happening for at least a year. I love the app, been playing metal guitar for 20 years and I use it for learning complex sections or solos but there is room for improvement. I would like to see the tempo issue resolved and I would like to see 0.5 increments for tempo changes when building speed.
Such a headache to pick up and start writing. From the "scores" menu, if I hit the "+" it tells me I need to type something in a computer and the "notepad" seems to only utilize the first 9 frets of each string. If you're experienced in this program, give it a shot I guess, but if you're a noob like me and simply want to make tabs for material you've already written, this is more hassle than it's worth.
Good, but no so good yet. One thing that interrupts the practice: why do we have to rotate the phone everytime to change the tempo? There should be a quick tool for this on the scroll screen. Also, if I'm reading along, when the last bar comes there's no time to see what will come next. The screen should automatically move or be better positioned. These updates would be very useful.
The notation screen itself is one scrolling line in the middle of the screen. The samples used are pretty horrible and all over the place with absent bass, barely audible drums and guitars that sound like howling cats. Playback on certain arrangements sounds like paper tearing. The design of the font itself is haphazard as the note stems aren't centered vertically along the stave and the notes aren't connected to the stems coming from them. Tuxguitar=just okay. GP Mobile=dumpster fire.
I used to really like this app but there are just too many issues with the notepad. For example> impossible to add multiple instrument tracks>if there are too many notes in a single bar, some notes will not play when exporting the tab file. Also, notepad files will randomly corrupt. Cannot add variable tempos or change tempos/time signatures throughout the tab.
Great app, I've been using the various versions since GP 5 on Windows. Just received an update (May 26, 2021) and I see no way of sorting the list of tablatures. And I can no longer add tabs from the Web address (it seems like it's uploading, but the tabs don't appear in the Android app).
Just started playin with the app and so far easier to use and more feature rich than the handful of free apps I have tried, at least for creating your own tabs because that is the reason I bought this. 1 thing i have notice however, when trying to create a tab and using the fretboard view option, whenever I add a slide, hammer-on or any kind of embellishment, the app crashes and that entire tab becomes corrupt. Hope this can be fixed, not counting on it though based on other reviews...
Ok for writing, but the app cannot keep tempo at all. A dotted quarter on the & of three tied into a whole note, in 4/4. This should last 5 ½ beats, but it cuts off the & of 4 in the measure with the whole note and starts playing what's in the next measure an eight too early, while the metronome is still keeping time. It throws everything off.
This app works fine for me and is really handy for when I cant access my guitarpro on laptop. However, for developers, could you please tell me if I can modify metronome setting other than the prescribed slow/fast speed slider? I am trying to control the speed of the looped part but the speed slider doent give me much flexibility. Example, I can only move in the iteratipn of 0.1, like 0.8 to 0.9 If like the laptop software, i am able to manually change the metronome beat, it would be great.
Terrible interface. So I can stand by the guitar pro desktop software whole heartedly, but this app is complete trash. I mean for a PAID app with a well known name, that says you can compose, it was terrible. I expected WAY more from this app and was extremely disappointed. You can't even tab passed the 9th fret, notation is basically non existent, and it's confusing. I really was hoping you could actually make a decent song, but absolutely not the case.
I'm a professional, this app has many bugs that developers dont care to fix no matter how many times i write to them, you add lyrics to songs in guitar pro for desktop, on app to display chord symbols in score when they appear the lyrics get pushed out of the way depending on if the chord has changed or which is ridiculous, also chords made using a capo do not play back at proper pitch when you tap them in chord viewer, which is just lazy program testing. FIX YOUR BUGS quit being lazy!!!
This app is great in respect to writing tabs. It has helped me a lot when I'm away from my guitar but need to let the music out. If they add the ability to layer tabs you make so you can make a whole song instead of just a layer, I daresay this app would be perfect as a mobile guitar tab app.
The app is good and I enjoy using it when it works properly. The problem I am encountering is a tempo bug. The app for some reason adds tempo changes onto the tabs for no reason. I've deleted the tab reuploaded it and it still does it and it affects all of the tabs. Please Fix!!!!
I really love using Guitar pro, I have been casually playing for 14years, and am starting to play a lot more songs in drop tuning. It would be really nice to have a tag, or menu option that displays what the tuning of a song is, making it easier to manage what songs I want to learn without continually needing to open and close a tab file. Also a tuner feature would be great if it was accessible from anywhere within the app, making it simple to use a single app for all my guitar needs
Very useful app to learn a new melody. Possible improvement: in landscape mode, most control buttons are not available. In portrait mode, the screen real estate is not fully used by the music sheet. Overall, I keep switching between the 2 modes because of this.
