Click on the note name to hear the actual string sound. This way you can tune your guitar by ear, switch back to automatic mode and than check how good your ears are.
Tone generator lets you set any note or any frequency and select which harmonics do you want to hear.

Useful, simple and accurate. The free version has adverts but they're not intrusive which paradoxically makes me actually want to look at them. The tuner is probably too sensitive with narrow parameters, but this can be changed in settings. I'm glad I downloaded it
Good app, i like that you can change the Hz and there is a great selection of alternate tuning. Downfalls? No one should be subjected to Advertisments, though they are subtle, they cover up the Hz of the string you are playing. Still worth the download.
I haven't seen any clip-on tuner that tells you the octave register number. With Guitar Tuner the display is linear and contiguous and it provides the frequency in Hz. As a bonus it also provides the equivalent of a good chord book. Very impressed.
tells you the chord of every bit of sound that goes through the mic. It gets every note perfect and on chord. this is the best i have ever seen and I've seen lot's of them but this is the best and easyest to use.
Excellent app. It's not rocket science making this sort of app, but to take care and thought to make a very simple user interface and great chord reference is really nice. Always on my phone.
easy and fairly accurate, better than some if the other tuner apps on here. Just one cockup, if you want to use a custom tuning you can only setup 5 strings!!!! As much use as a chocolate teapot đ¤âšī¸
Extremely useful and helpful application for beginners and experienced players with chord variations and alternative tunings to choose from, it gives an excellent opportunity to investigate different styles of playing and keeping your instruments in tune.

Great! Maybe only the very deep tones don't get picked up but i can work around that. It's great that I can select any tuning!
I use the app. exclusively to tune my Yamaha acoustic guitar. Its as good if not better than the tuners that are selling for $20-30.00. Very impressive app. & ive tried them all
Would easily award you 5 stars but when you custom tune a 6 string guitar your app doesnt allow me to tune the high E string in the options. Only the first 5 strings.
This is the best tuner I found, after trying lots if them... And it's free... The complainrs make no sense to me. I would not mind paying for it, It's so good...

Amazingly usable..the 'tunings' is a feature i had on digital tuner of 'lost long ago' never found replacement till now...

Strange choice of notes for Open A tuning. Most blues and lap steel players use E A E A C# E (one step up from Open G). Same for Open A minor (but C instead of C#). Otherwise OK.

Display lags behind making it tiresome to tune an instrument. It does work though with patience
Bad stuff first, 3 stars because it's awful for tuning the low E any lower for dropped tuning and I think this is important as one of the features of this app is the ability to change the tuning to a dropped tuning. Besides that, this app is truly incredible. A catalog of chords, clean and precise tuning, almost every setting is adjustable, and that's WITHOUT premium! I truly love this app
