No longer loads, cleared cache (yes, we all know that might help - thanks for the pointless advice) tried messaging you lot but no response. Simple solution: deleted the app, permanently. Yours is the only app that doesn't work with older OS so if you want all 3 yo devices scrapped for no reason then 4q I'll not use nor recommend your service. BIOYA.
A very good app for local advertising. My only gripe with it is that the distance setting is hopelessly inaccurate. If you put in a search within 5 miles, for example, it brings up areas over 20 miles away which is just no use at all.
Can only give one star as unfortunately I cannot post an ad. The post a new ad works fine until I try to enter the price, the button is totally unresponsive, it doesn't work, therefore I can't post the ad and had to use the website version instead.
Ads have become intrusive and distracting. You had a very good balance of ad placement before. But the new permanent ad banner on the results page is a step too far. And honestly it looks tacky and gives the app and service a bad impression.
I have finally been able to post some adverts but my details are not visible to buyers so they are unable to contact me? I have reloaded the app, updated my details and cleared all my history - I'm at a loss as to what has happened? I have never had this problem and have been successfully using Gumtree for many years.
Constant network failures with this app. Very frustrating. "An unexpected error has occurred. " Can be opened in chrome with no issue, but the app has constant errors.
The app is awful. You go from the Google search to then clicking on Gumtree to go to the app and it doesn't even load what I was originally looking for. Then when you type it in it still doesn't work. Shame I can't just search gumtree without using the app coz the app is broken. And delete the app.
Can't add or remove favourites only whole using app! Plz fix n the app is super handy for messaging etc otherwise. Doesn't let me upload an advert after writing out a description more than 12 characters which is the requirement!
Too Buggy, Unusable & Can't Upload new Adverts. I see a lot of negative reviews about scammers, that's not really anything to do with the app itself and it's functionality, that's a service issue. Anyway I've been using Gumtree for years now and suddenly when I try to upload images or submit my advert it gives an error "Failed to Upload" - super frustrating, to the point I'm now using other platforms to sell my items. Sort it out Gumtree!!!
Abysmal. Don't install it. I was conned out of £90 believing there was safeguards with using this app. Not so. Unless you're knowledgeable with the kind of sleaze that lurk here, beware and delete this app. You'll mostly find scum here that are just after your money and are very good at making up lies. No decency and from what I can tell, no help from Gumtree. I should have guessed when another "Michael" couldn't spell properly.... Can't check profiles from wanted ads.
I can't post an add. The app keeps asking me to "enter my phone number in the Contact field below". The phone number was entered and confirmed.
Generally good & much better than eBay as no fees. Messaging service seems broken - messages come and go without warning.
I put an ad on here, got charged for it and the item didn't sell. Then gumtree took it down. I put an identical ad on preloved and it sold in 2 days.
This review is being reposted as it was apparently deleted for no reason. A recent update logged me out and when I attempt to log back in with my Google account, I am forced to opt in to marketing emails to progress. I bypassed this by resetting my account password so that I could log in with my email address. Unethical and possibly illegal approach by Gumtree with giving people no choice but to opt in to marketing emails to log in to the app.
This app has always been great until the past week when it just won't open. Have uninstalled and reinstalled and updated to latest version but it's still the same. Just stays with the picture of the car and the circle whirring until I close it.
A great app, easy to use and find items you're looking for. Downside is replies sent via the push notification dont get sent. Posting a new listing constantly required 12 words even when I'm well over the minimum, I need to leave the listing and go back in again to fix it.
I've discovered a few bugs to be reported. 1. Messages do not automatically refresh when you opened it from notification page. 2. It does not actually search for a new keyword but scrolls back to top instead when you trying to search another queries.
Absolute robbers. Took my money for premium listings, cancelled the ads for not meeting their terms and conditions (don't inform me let alone provide a reason that I could correct) and don't refund the money. Love chat on their app and website is never available and emails to their support disappear into a chasm. Next step is to try chargeback with my bank and report these chancers to Trading Standards.
Temporary review & temp 3 ⭐ as not explored it enough to say all works perfect & proper until i have fully used / explored yet ,but if it's as smooth ,fast & stressless as it was to create the ad in seconds I'll be bak to fully show
I can't post adverts using the app. It gets to the final stage then says 'an unexpected error has occured'. I have cleared the cache and data from the app and I am using the latest version on a Samsung Galaxy S21. Pointless app.
Defrauded on Gumtree delivery service. It's quite sophisticated scam, with lots people falling for it. I did, wasn't careful enough. I was aware of Gumtree offering delivery, but not the fact it's for cars only. The company didn't help either not having clear message on mobile app about it, as it is on web version. Capital lose insignificant, more damage been done to my payment structure. I'm deleting the app, and never gonna use it again. Do something Gumtree, you are failing customers!!!
Used to be ok, but recently full of bugs. Can't search locally or order by distance, which makes it pretty useless. Shame, as I've bought and sold on it a lot in the past.
Can never post an advert. Always says "an unexpected error has occurred" with no further information or details. Slow claps to the devs for that. Fully up to date phone, app up to date, even tried creating a new account. Works otherwise but what's the point if you can't post ads? Been like this for as long as I can remember. Useless app.
