The new App is in general very sluggish, slow to open images, to the point of frustration! I just give up and move on... This could be to the detriment of the seller? My saved Ads do not SHOW in the view when scrolling through the Ads. I have to open the Ad to see if it it is still saved. This was always visible on the old App! This is a waste of time and extremely frustrating. Also, my alerts do not show up on the list like they did in the old App with a green dot when there are new Ads.

The new app is really pathetic and not user friendly at all (I've been a Gumtree user for many years and this is the worst version) . Please revert to the previous version. The filter tabs do not open when selected. The app has much more lag than the previous version. When filters are set and a new product is searched for, all the filters are reset, it is rather frustrating, the older app version was much easier to navigate from start and find what you are looking for.

The New App Looks Good, But it's terrible! It's very slow. Its takes forever to load, to a a point it gives an error. Renewing adverts is a headache, you can't renew and edit at the same time like previously, once renewed you have to start all the way at the top and go down(This users will lots of adverts will find an issue). Search or going to a specific category is more complicated. Overall the app became much much more user friendly. Seems to have plenty of glitches!

The new appearance is way too cluttered. It seems to take far more time than before for the same actions. I now find deleting my ads challenging. The menu that pops up wanting the reason for the delete leads nowhere and that is very irritating. How does one solve this?! On the desktop one cannot see all one's ads and to click on "more" the system just hangs. Not good. Worked perfectly before.

This new update has been terrible. It doesn't sometimes allow you to save searches, you no longer see a notification next to your saved searches, when clicking on the push notifications it rarely takes you to the saved search. The app is also much slower. And when you try to contact Gumtree via the quick chat, the quick chat button isn't even on the screen sufficiently.

This update was the worst possible thing you could do. Its not user friendly at all. The older version was user friendly, faster and more detail orientated than this new one. If possible please revert to the old one. Its very frustrating and will definitely be repelling a lot of users. Had to use my pc cause the phone one is a total waste of time.

Bad update: doesn't save recent searches. In previous versions I could click on the search bar and it would bring up my recent searches. If I clicked on one of the recent searches it remembered all the filters of the search as well. But now if I accidentally press back once more or the app closes in the background, my search is lost and I have to set up everything. You should have a feature "continue where I left" which populates all the filters, sorts it correctly and takes you where you were.

Latest version is absolute rubbish, Everything is cluttered and slow. Unfortunately this is a downgrade not upgrade and searching for things is a effort. Loaded images of items are distorted, so you can't see the quality of the items you want to purchase or sell. Previous version was quick and easy. Too many advertisements as well :(

Worst app update ever!!! The old app worked well. Easy to search. Clear and uncluttered. If find myself using the app way less because I don't want to struggle through the app adjusting my search history to what it thinks I want. I also hate how the search items are displayed. Please revert back to the previous version ASAP or you're gonna lose users

Terrible update. Very slow and difficult to navigate. Not user friendly. I ended up downloading the cars.co.za app to view available vehicles. This isn't an isolated issue. Multiple people are complaining of a similar experience. The issue unfortunately sits with the latest version.

App is very slow, new UI compromises UX by not being as user friendly, filters start dynamically searching per set parameter which affects UX negatively as it takes a lot more time than before to return results. Also continuously uses bandwidth during setting search parameters which slows down network. Before we could set all parameters including multiple searches, which is not possible now, before allowing the app to execute and return results. Exceedingly frustrating working with the new UI.

I loved the previous version of Gumtree! This new updated version on the other hand is a huge frustration and disappointment. Saved searches dissappear within minutes and it's not user friendly. Something needs to be done! Looks like there's a lot people that agrees with me if you have a look at the reviews.

I prefer the previous app version much more. The new version is slow, sometimes doesn't load older ads and its also harder to see the ads. I cannot seem to browse casually in this version. I also suspect it will be much harder to get something sold. It seems that advertising is being prioritised over users' adds.

Not a fan of the new update,I know you have to pay the bills took me a while to realise there's more pictures after the ads, should also try and have a dark mode option there's too much happening while scrolling down. On mobile app. The thing that send me over the wall was the reduce picture quality of the picture in the ads before viewing people in any case view the ads might as well give them collage view with good picture quality.

I prefer the old app. It takes so long to load now, not easy to search for certain categories, my chats don't load, so I can't get hold of the people trying to buy. Some filter options are missing. Which makes it unusable for me. Lots of times it's more frustrating to use app and easier to switch to something else

The update looks great and I see the vision but the app lags so much that it's frustrating. You can't do a single thing! Every time I log on, within a minute I leave the app purely out of frustration. I enjoyed the app before the upgrade. Also there are way too many ads now. It's just bad. I cant-

Some of the issues I have encountered while using the app are as follows: 1)Sluggish response to commands. 2)Often hangs and times out. The app has somehow become less intuitive and user friendly, which is understandable as the interface has been completely changed. I'm not against change, but I hope the kinks are being ironed out. EDIT: Saved searches function started working properly yesterday, so I decided to adjust the review accordingly.

Come on Gumtree the new app doesn't save searches. Or keep ones Saved Searches? So frustrating. You're letting us down! The response from the developers, click on this link and we will help you resolving the issue. Well no its a problem with the app as it has an option to save this search by toggle on off . This does not work. Make it work or take away the option, if the latter then this update will officially be a downgraded version. Currently you have less capabilities than the old app.

Hard to find what you're looking as the user interface is cluttered. The new grid based listings design takes too much display space meaning I scroll more. The app struggles to load the ads fast enough. After a few minutes of scrolling through ads, the app begins to get laggy and reports connectivity loss after which your phone stops responding, starts heating up and crashes other apps. The app needs to load faster and use less memory.

The facelifted app is hot garbage. -Losing filters between searches -Image load times are terrible, some images will never download (usually the middle image that does not load) -Probably need an epilepsy warning for the stuttery scrolling -New UI is, meh, but a step in the right direction, perhaps offer dark mode -I know we're all your free beta testers, this is also a free app, but please work faster on patches... You do offer "join beta" but this release feels like beta...

No more zoom on images or option to save images of the ads on the new UI. Also doesn't indicate new ads in saved searches. Prefer the old app. It takes very long to load also, but then doesnt load at all. I could do custom Kilometres searching when browsing cars, now I can't. New app went backwards.

Used to love scrolling through the deals every day. But unfortunately since the new update, the app just doesn't work the same. Nothing loads properly, things take generally very long to load which can be very frustrating. There's also days when I literally can't even open the app... Unfortunate that the old version actually worked a lot better.

Absolute horrible app. There is a say " if something is not broken don't fix it" The new version is pathetic . The old one was working like a dream . Somebody pasted and copy the Junk Mail app which was horrible as it was . I won't use it for long if it doesn't improve . There are other sites much better . User friendly , fast and well layed up. As Gumtree used to be . Horrible experience

New version of the app is not an improvement over the previous version. Cannot stress this enough. It now takes more touches and applys than it took to previously search for the same categories and items. Previously it was seamless and instant updates, now I have to select here and there to achieve the same. Some filters are outright not working e.g. Selecting a car make under cars and bakkies. Honestly easier to just use gumtree through the phone browser now than the app. Please sort out guys

New design very slow. Looks like you upgraded with a downgrade Come on guys... Look at all the new reviews since you updated your app. It is very slow and searches aren't accurate anymore. It is not user friendly anymore and keeps loading. It doesn't open searches it is cluttered. Where is the guy who made the first one...bring the person back because the new app is not working well.

Horrible update. Slow and unresponsive . The previous edition of the app was perfect. Low data costs , user friendly and actually worked. Did not need this update. Horrible update and will definitely refrain from using it as i know alot of people will. If that was your intention then well done .

Bad update: Very slow. Too many ads. Pictures take long to load. And the filter function is quite annoying. Also, the search history functionality is no longer available. Bring back the previous version.

Since latest update on new interface, the app is very unstable and half the time does not detect your ads. Other times it says you have replies but no replies come up. So the app might be deleting replies and thereby stopping sales inadvertently! App is too slow and way worse than before. Wish I could downgrade.
