Great light trash app. I have only been able to operate the light twice, each time the connection was interrupted after less than one minute(android). With an IPhone, it connected on the first try and worked for about 10 minutes, then unable to reconnect. The app does not seem to give any capabilities beyond what you can do by turning the dials on the light. Even when light connected unable to access programed light modes "cop car" "disco" etc.

The app is very difficult to select colors. Please look into how LIFx makes their app for selecting colors on their light bulbs. It is far easier and less confusing. In here I have a "color wheel" but the aliders underneath for hue, saturation and brightness change everything. Give me a true color wheel with a brightness slider or a color square. Anything that makes it simple.

For those of you frustrated: this app only works with older phones!! I got this on Christmas morning but was confused and upset when it wouldn't connect to my Google pixel 3, so I tried it on my original pixel. It took forever to download but eventually worked, and connects to my light without problems. This app needs to be updated for the latest version of Android. For now though, if you are fortunate enough to have an older phone that still works, use that instead.

app does what its supposed to do, no more no less. as another review states, it really only works on older devices which honestly isnt terrible seeing as how we all have an old tablet or phone laying around. (I use a galaxy tab 2) my biggest problem with the app is that it wont connect to more than one light at a time. this needs some refinement.

The app works fine on the first try, actually. I'm giving it three stars because it demands a registration with an email and access to storage. I see absolutely no legitimate reason why it needs those to control the light over wifi. Also, not all error messages are translated to English. ADDENDUM: Exit from the app doesn't work. Only force stop kills it. Minus one more star for one more annoying "feature"

App won't connect to wifi. Keeps saying incorrect password. Installed and uinstalled 3 times. Support is TERRIBLE!! The want to do everything by email and sometimes that is not practical. they dont speak English and they don't start working till 5:30pm pacific time (overseas call center) Might be a great app..... if it worked like it was designed to. In its current configuration it's not worth the frustration!!

Lights work pretty well. Tons of creative options. Adding presets would be awesome in app. Connection process is straight forward. The big fault is the app constantly runs in the background even if not connected to the lights. Have to force stop. I am also running on a Samsung Note 10+ 5G with Android 10/Samsung one UI 2.0

I can control a single rgb light with app and this works great. But I can't seem to control the 2nd rgb light at all. The second light is on same channel as first light and is configured as slave mode. I am using android 9.0 on Samsung galaxy s8. Thinking of returning product because of this.

Great light in this price. People are complaining about the storage using. So here is the thing. This light have 11 channels that saves your settings like color, temperature and intensity which need memory to use your storage. This app is in english. And very easy to use. Give it a try. You can remove the permission of using storage any time when not using it. And give it permit again when using this light. But the product is really good quality.

Tried multiple times, followed the instructions watched YouTube, the app does not connect to light, but somehow it's able to connect and change the WiFi SSID which is strange!!! I think it will work with Apple devices not sure, the app needs major debugging.

Setup is wonky. If you get lucky it works. I'm a technician and have set up countless things, however am puzzled by this one. Everything worked according to direction, then everything vanishes and gets caught in an endless searching cycle. Waste of time.

Getting these GVM lights to work is anything but "easily". The app is absolutely useless, some questions in the beginning appear in Chinese and it won't just connect to the light. On top of this, the app is requesting file reading permissions - for what? The app also starts itself in the background for no apparent reason.

Just bought the 3 rgb light setup for this broken feature! I seriously feel like returning. Besides the lightning also not having a frequency feature. I should of "Eeasily" known when the app is misspelled in the instructions.

Horrible. Bought these excited about the rgb option. Didn't realize you needed to use an app to operate colors. The app is worthless. Will not connect to the lights. Maybe 1 in 30 attempts. Waste of money.

This app runs constantly and can only connect to one light at a time. It has issues with connecting reliably. Fix for tethering to multiple lights simultaneously. *560 light version

Does not work without access to your storage - I see absolutely no reason why it needs it to control lights. Very shady. Some error messages are in Chinese.

Initial instructions only in Chinese, unable to use if you deny access to files, photos and media on your device! Useless App serves no real purpose as it shouldn't need access to anything other than WiFi network

Won't connect, terrible interface, can't correctly send color signals to slave devices without also messing with master device settings even when using separate channels. Totally broken.

Slow to connect. Can't use with VPN running. Have to switch wifi to use. Always running in the background. Needs more access to files than is necessary.

Not in a million years am I giving this shady app access to my phones storage. There is not a single reason (other than maybe storing presets) that this app needs access to my storage. I won't be using this app anytime soon unless they remove the forced storage access.

Works a lot better for me than what the comments described. I turned wifi on, connected my phone to it (login details in owners manual) This app is a little too basic with it's set up, but it does work.

For the money this three light app controlled LED kit is hard to beat. Lights are cold but for LED's at this price point they're well worth the pricetag. . I originally could not get the app to work, emailed GVM support and received a response within 24 hrs pointing me to a youtube video that helped. Set the channel on the master light the same as the app when u setup Wifi - works as advertised.

I can not get this app to "connect" it just spins and says "connecting" which makes no sense cause it sees the wifi, its just the actual app interface isn't working.

Terrible to control. Opens in a completely different language. Had to download manually because the QR code shown on the products doesn't actually take you to the app download. Please fix this soon.

Could this app be anymore suspicious!! I'm not giving access to my media for an app that is supposed to be controlling lights via WiFi!!! Language option to start with be useful as well...

Half of the set is in Chinese and will not translate so i can read. Why does it need access to my contacts? It is a lightning software. **updated* new April update just broke everything. App will NOT work on S8-Note. No more color lighting.... waste of $$$.

App will not connect to the 800d-rgb lights. I've watched many guides and tutorials but nothing is working. Looking at many other reviews I see I'm not alone. I have yet to see a response from the devs. Will likely change my review if I can actually start using the product.
