I tried several apps and this one is really the best one. Very easy to use and intuitive, I really appreciate that you can save your workouts on your Google Drive (really helped me when I broke my phone), and that you can sync with Google Fit or Samsung Health. This week I even discovered it supported my Samsung watch, awesome !
App starts out promising but quickly turns into just another gimmick. The guided tour is well done but entry pop up screen is overly confusing, doing more than 3 sets interferes with your on screen keyboard. Charges "premium" fees that even other apps give you for free. Disappointed to say the least.
Great app, has all the functionality I need. I asked customer support if you can upgrade plans and just pay the difference and they replied quickly (you do only pay the difference!). A lot of the app is behind a paywall but I think it's worth it for at least the base subscription - the higher tiers are just for smartwatch apps.
I am pretty sure whoever designed this app dosent actually excerise. Bought pro, price is fine - but no flexibility? If a start a workout from a routine and then feel like I need to change the order of exercises today, it also changes it in the template? If I need to add extra sets I have to first finish the current sets or "edit". Let us see all sets and excerises at once how hard is that? The actual workout =/= the template. Wear OS support is awesome, maybe good for begginers but not me.
So far I really like this app. It was a difficult decision to leave the strong app after years of use but wanted an app that would work with my galaxy watch. One of the only things holding it back from 5 stars is the lack of a tile for my watch and the lack of exercises such as Romanian deadlifts, skullcrusher and facepulls. I realize you can create custom exercises but this isn't ideal. All in all a great app though and I'll gladly pay for the premium.
Have been using it for years since it allows with a 1-time cheap payment to create basic workout data of exercise, weight, reps, sets and time if needed. Also shows you previous sets performed while exercising.
===update from 2021-12 This apps just getting better and better through continuous improvements from the developer. ===from 2019 I love this app. It is designed very thoughtfully to be vary usable and highly customizable. Unlike other apps it is NOT overloaded with graphics and moving screens (which for me quickly became annoying with other apps). Instead developer keeps it simple and customizable. The only thing I wish it would have: database of exersyizes with resistance bands.
Does anyone know how to unlock the Standalone version on Samsung Galaxy watch 4 classic? I already installed the app on both phone and watch, and clicked button sync in the watch. But it keeps asking me to unlock the Standalone version on the smart phone. Really annoying.
I'm learning more about this app's features every day. Love it. A little complex (which is a good thing) but works great with Galaxy Watch 4!
This was always my favorite app and the one I used to recommend to friends. Bought it years ago because it promised full statistics features and was a great buy. Now those features are behind a subscription paywall sadly, breaking that supposed life long subscription contract
Love the watch integration so I can easily and quickly log sets and watch my rest time. The whole system works really well once I learnt it and added exercises etc
Been using this app sometime and love it. One thing that I would really like is a few more muscle categories though. Currently needing to target adductor muscles but no way to add those so a better breakdown of muscles in general would be great. Obliques is another that I think would be beneficial, sure there are more others could add too.
Be careful deleting a workout from your daily routine. It will also delete from the library and you can't recover it. Other than that, a good tracker with some funky line graphs after the end of your workout that I don't understand.
The minimalist design does not distract you from the workout, the integration with the watch is great, and the regular updates (even to the Tyzen version of the watch app) are very welcome. Great job, GymRun developers.
Very complete and super customizable routines. I love using the companion app on my watch. I'd like to have option to copy weight or reps for same exercise.
Easy to use, import routines and create and customize any routine.
Requirement: Simple tabata style timer, associate with group of activities, control via Samsung SmartWatch and then feed data to Samsung Health. This is the only App I could find that addresses the key requirements (particularly the Samsung Health integration). GymRun does far more than I was looking for and perhaps because of it, lacks some refinement and I will be honest, I found it tricky to use to start with and even now after a few hours of setting it up, I still think it's a bit clunky to use . However, once you start to get your head around it, there are some great additional features and I'm pretty sure is configurable for just about any type of exercise. I still cannot get it exactly to work as I would ideally like it, so I'll keep trying and not mark it down for that. Summary, if you want a fully featured app that allows a wealth of personalisation and configuration, give this a try. One final point, I can't find the contact information as I do have some suggestions.
I tried a stack of weight training apps, for something with enough features but not bloated. This was best of the bunch. Straight to the point, not much I don't need, everything I do need is there. took me a while to get the hang of the interface but eventually had it working how I wanted. Would have been 5 star rating if a little more intuitive to use. I happily paid for pro version to get cloud backup. Price reasonable. Good app. Recomended. Does what it says it will.
Almost perfect App, made from the point of view of the end user who is making a workout in the Gym and have to quickly adjust weight, repetitions and so on. To do: add the possibility to have and choose for a complete backup. The images I added for personalized exercises are not backed up. However, I don't want to make a complete backup each time I finish a workout. I need to choose this option that is even currently missing.
I'm a bit confused about the smartwatch integration. I own a Huawei Watch 1 on the latest Wear OS 2.0 but the synchronization is at best random. In fact it is completely unusable because the actions on the phone are sometimes not synced ti the watch and the other way round edit: the issue was that my phone has very aggressive default settings for background apps. after changing the settings to "Manual" everything works fine now. updated the rating to 5 🌟
