For an absolute beginner there is a very steep learning curve. There is no documentation. (as game is not maintained anymore). Hackschool does provide a rudimentary understanding of the basics like input-program-output, comparison operators, if-else constructs and while loops. The puzzles in later levels are challenging. The UI is very intuitive and anyone with a basic understanding of python or c# or even javascript will enjoy it. As of today only story mode works. A great game, recommended.

I know it's an old app, but it needs a refresh. Twitter no longer works so i can't create games, i can't play puzzles. Only things that work are story mode and making an AI (Robot). I would just delete the Hackoins, Twitter and instead putting everything (Reference, Saved Games) on remote server, put it on local storage. If there WILL BE (of course) some update.

I've become experienced in various mainstream programming languages over the years and I can't even progress in this game. Main reason being the tutorial offers no help, I spent ages pressing and navigating to random numbers and operators and the outcomes make no sense. I've just given up and uninstalling this game due to poor execution

About 3 or 4 years ago I played this game for the first time. I had no idea how to code anything. The game was very difficult but gave you just enough to finally figure things out. That sparked an obsession into code that eventually landed me a job as a backend Python developer and Im working towards Full Stack with React and AWS. So thank you for that. Its been an insane journey.

i like the app, its fun, but it seems to be unsupported, the twitter sign in doesnt work, the guide and official website dont exist anymore and the link(on twitter) that once lead to a complete guide now leads to a scam website. all in all, if you want to try your skill at coding its nice, but dont expect to find any help if you get stuck (there is an ingame tutorial for the most used bits of code but its not enough to help you out in case you are stuck)

best coding challenging app i have ever seen. it boosts users' way of understanding and i agree if we complete this app with only your coding skills, you will definitely be anywhere near the professional level. 😀 thankyou, for making this. 👏

I beat the entire story mode in one sitting. the rest of the game requires you to sign in using twitter. It is very fun but short to a fault.

I can't make new games because its locked behind twitter login which crashes. Other than that, pretty challenging and fun to solve.

I played this game 4 years ago and it sparked my interest in programming and I have now became a software developer thanks to this game So sad to see it gone, really hope the developer could open source the backend source code to github so some other people could maintain the documentation allowing twitter sign in to work, giving newer players some chance of getting into this game!

Thank you for making this app. You guys are awesome. This app is a lot of fun and challenging. It makes you really think about functions that are available as part of most languages that we take for granted. The only thing I would change is the fact that you can only login with Twitter

It's a really good game, but you have to be logged in to twitter to be able to use almost half of the app. And if I try to log on to Twitter the app crashes...

This game seems really fun but I wouldn't know because the tutorials don't help much I'm unable to pass one level because I don't understand the concept a better tutorial would make this game funnef

Love the app, but there is some documentation missing. Also, why build a new language? Adding another language to get used to seemed pointless.

I used to think I know it all in programming, but this game thought me just how far I need to learn, it's a really good learning experience to test your skills. Thumbs Up to the developer(s).

Has a lot of potential i think.The devs should continue developing tge game it has some issues like the tweeter sign in does not work. But i think the devs can do a lot of things with this game.Also really helpful for beginner coders.

I believe it's a very useful game and platform! I once played too. But now I'm not able to link my twitter. Kindly check and resolve it soon team.

Story mode is fine, but other game modes don't work for me. When I try to sign in with Twitter, the app just stops.

This would be an excellent programming tutorial/game except the the developers are gone. Their website is 404 and they haven't maintained the game in years. Brutal shame. I wish they would open source it on github and let somebody else maintain it.
