Unfortunately, this app seems to use an outdated embedded browser that doesn't support many articles. Clicking on most article links with JS or dynamic content seems to always fail. I have switched over to materialistic HN reader; they support most links and have the pretty blue progress bar when loading pages.

Missing features (or I am just unable to find them). Couldn't find anywhere to view my own comments. Did not get any sort of notification when someone replied to my comment (or even anywhere to view replies to your comments). No scrollbar or indication of how far along I am in a thread so could be half way done or 1/5 done and I had no way to know which. No search function that I could find so good luck finding a thread that you remember seeing even if you know the title. The app does look nice though and the click to collapse comments function works well.

Great interface. The only issue I have is accidental comments collapsing while trying to scroll down. I wish there was an option to turn comment collapsing off.

The app looks good except when I'm reading an article or being on some comments and I lose the phone network, I go back to the list of articles. It's very annoying when you're in the middle of something.

Nice app, but connection info telling me I'm not connected when I actually am is really annoying cause it gets in the way and doesnt fade away. Would be nice if it could be turned off or removed completely. Still happening after heck of a long time :(

One of the very few apps that got better in Lollipop. Latest update just made it more impressive. Nice place to consume information.

Scrolling articles is smooth but switching between panes is a bit jerky on my One Plus One and needs optimizations. The UI is sober and really nice.

The html links open inside app and do not allow copy paste option. Still a solid application.

Interface is clean, but very clunky. It is also not easy to get to the comments for an article.

However, it mostly shows "unable to load content" now. And this problem seems to be getting worse.

App is not native and shares links to its domaim instead of sharing a link to the actual content. More importantly, a lot of webpages don't render correctly in the emulated built-in browser (e.g.: images and css are often lost).

As per the feedback below, would be good to have an open-in button; sometimes the inbuilt browser just doesn't work.

Often shows "No network connection" in the top-right corner, even though I can load more articles, etc.

Ugly and boring fonts

The last update has made replying in app an effort in futility for me. When typing text is extremely laggy (think typing over ssh with a 2k ping).

Absolutely great and simple HN client, have yet to find one able to replace it. Solid, good offline caching, design may be a bit dated but if it isn't broken don't overhaul it.

Decent app for reading HN, but the errant 'No Internet Connection' overlay led me to uninstall. Have to close, kill, then reopen the app constantly to rid of it.

I like the app a lot but I have one issue with it. The annoying connection notification. It keeps telling me I am not connected while I actually am connected. It would be awesome if I could just disable it.

The 'bottom navigation' option is very useful for large phones. More apps should have this option.

Adh. R. Jul 27, 2018

It was fine until it started asking if I'm a robot and I can't read through it anymore.

Jef. O. Jun 29, 2016

Perfect set of features. Reader mode for most articles, lets me choose app colors and fonts, with absolutely no BS. One of the few actual apps I keep on my phone (rather than using the site).

Really useful, but I would really love it if it had scroll bar for all pages

A. G. u. Jun 16, 2017

Well made, but text on the front page is hard to read because of poor contrast. Touch targets could be bigger sized.

And. S. May 19, 2017

I've been using the mobile site version for years, my favorite way to read HN hands down

There's a bug on the login page no text appears in the text box when typing. I'm on a Pixel

Mat. R. Dec 5, 2015

Was great, but all of a sudden I'm getting lots of application errors about missing some asset - so it's now pretty much unusable for me.

Sam. D. Nov 2, 2015

All the app's functions lag, whether it's opening the comments, a story, the settings, or even just reloading.
