A game with promise. The controls are easy when you get used to the tedious learning curve. I've lost ships 1 min into the game. The story set up is great. The graphics are those from 8 years ago. The text is hard to read, even with a Samsung Galaxy Note 10S+. I wished for more out of this. If it's a headache to begin with then it's probably not worth my time. There was already a bug/glitch in the first 10 mins of playing. Not worth $11.99, maybe $3.99. Sorry.
The controls are kinda easy 1 finger tap/drag for selection/movement, 2 finger drag for map scrolling, 3 finger drag for camera rotation. There is at the tutorial a pop-up with other controls explained for touch as well as mouse/keyboard. Works even fine on mobile phones. Don't know what most ppl complain about. But please add skirmish mode and the expansions. Top notch game! Does not hold users hands, so some brain cells are needed.
I could get passed all the little nuances that ppl have complained about... the small buttons, the somewhat difficult controls, however on my samsung 8+ after playing for 5 - 10 minutes, the menus stop working and I can't figure out why.... have tried a multitude of troubleshooting to no avail and support won't reply... unfortunate cuz I feel like I would have loved the game
Loved the original on PC. This port is terrible though. Can't get through the first mission because the touch screen controls do not work. Would have refunded but missed the deadline a while ago.
This Is a good game, but I have a reoccurring issue of crashing during episode 4 Anyone with a newer android device should not bother buying this game until the developers have fixed the issue with it
Game force closes on load. Says file corrupted everytime. Unless you plan to beat the game in one sit through without dieing once there is no playing this game.
Great game, controls is a bit difficult in the beginning but as soon as you get the hang of it it is amazing
Love the graphics, so far just starting and completed first mission, I'm still intrigued.
Force closes when I try to load game. I hope they update as this game would be alot of fun if it was playable on up 2 date devices
Once you learn the controls it's fun I really do recommend it I only wish there are more games like this
Fantastic game! Beautiful graphics and great story line so far.
great game marred by horrendous controls. save your money
fun game a really great port of the pc game
Super fun hard to get a hang of but I got it now
My dreams came true! Babylon 5 for android!!!!!
It needs updating
While this is a great port from a PC game, it has a few shortfalls. Not all of the controls from made the transition, such as keyboard commands, and the camera controls could use a little polish. I have spent several hours on a single mission because I can't find the source of the attackers in what is a much larger area than it would seem. Aside from a few rough spots this has all the ingredients of an awesome RTS.
For anyone having trouble with the controls and camera, just a hint you are gonna spend a lot of time figuring out context menus and lot of time in the tactical view. The tactical view is your friend. Tap the button that looks like a planet with a ring to switch to it. Wish other older RTS games would get ported to Android but so far this one has been great.
Just need to completely convert it from PC to android game. Good job with setting everything else up though. I'm stuck, can't progress further without better controls. Nothing hint to building on planet, mining vessel does not leave or simply don't know how to move it to new asteroid. Struggled for hours to try to research, no idea how.
Brilliant port of a brilliant game. I was almost put off by the various reviews complaining about the poor tutorial and interface, so I feel obliged to say that it really isn't bad at all. Where things aren't entirely clear you should be able to work it out very quickly. If you can't then, with the best will in the world, strategy games probably aren't for you.
I don't have as much trouble with the controls as many do in their reviews. I think they're quite good with the exception that taps are frequently interpreted as attempts to select a tiny region. The game is beautiful and a lot of fun. Unfortunately I've had frequent crashes. They weren't too common for most of the game, but they happen consistently during episode 5 mission 2. I can't play past this, it just crashes :(. UPDATE: I got past it. For some reason sending spies through a wormhole crashed the game
Great game so far just the worst tutorial ever. Apparently to initiate research you have to double-backflip, curse at god, rip your hair out, give up, throw your tablet, take a shower, come back to the game determined to figure it out, start the game over because you must have missed something, realize you didn't, repeat steps 1-7 and finally after all of this, a fairy lands on your shoulder and whispers in your ear "There's an unlabeled 2 pixel button on a screen they refer to as the database but label it research. Press that." Thanks fairy!
The visuals are amazing, the game play is pretty good. The controls are a nightmare at first, but once you've got the hang of it can eat hours. Useful for plane journeys/delays, long train/coach rides. Make sure you have a charger handy for prolonged use. In short, get it. It's awesome.
This is and always will be a challenging strategy game from an era when not everything was handed to players on silver platers and there was no way to buy victory. This game is for gamers who thrive on thinking through challenges, long term planning, and methodical tactics. I played it on the PC years ago and loved it. I'm very surprised at how well it ported over to Android, a testament to the Dev. teams abilities since it runs great at high resolution on Galaxy S 10.5. What playing Hegimonia on a tablet added was the ability to flick through planet menus, and multifinger pan around an epic space battle making the entire experience much more involving and just plain straight out of the movies cool (honestly, who gets excited at watching people mouse click at stuff). There is a steap learning curve to the controls, but after watching the tutorial and pulling up the help menu a few times I got the hang of it just fine. Great job on this one, I hope to see more ports in the future since true RTS games are harder to come by these days.
I remember how much I loved playing this game on PC. I was ecstatic when I saw it was adapted for mobile. Unfortunately, the controls are absolutely awful and poorly thought out. You shouldn't have to long-press just to move the CAMERA around. You should be long pressing to select units if anything, not to use camera controls. Good game poorly adapted for mobile due to terrible control scheme. 5 stars if the developers ever address these issues.
I was looking for a good space SIM seeing as Cosmonautica deleted my savegame and hoped this would be better. It's awful, absolutely terrible. The controls are shockingly bad, finger presses dont register, missions are totally unclear, and there is no even remotely useful tutorial. I've spent most of my time aimlessly wondering around space completely confused, searching for tiny dots that are apparently mission objectives, but are so unclear on the map I can't find them. I'd give it nothing if I could.
The game had awesome graphics and user interface but on a pH u can't even see the basic instructions since the font and the screen is not sufficient for this game. Got the game with high expectations but couldn't play it on the day I bought it so refund was off the table. Wat a waste of 4 bucks!
Within the first half hour of playing this game, I realized I wanted a refund. However, I then got distracted - dang ADHD - and missed the two hour window. This was probably a great game for PC, but not for mobile. Hands down the worst controls I have ever subjected myself to. Save your money, buy a computer (or literally any other RTS game on the Play Store).
