I downloaded this game thinking that I would be able to play all the available routes listed for it, however not all the dialogue options which are supposed to be showing up (according to every walkthrough I've read) are appearing. This is preventing me from getting on the routes (Harada, Shinpachi, etc.) that I wished to play the most. I like this app for the most part, but a "premium" version of the game doesn't do much good when it cuts out half the available options. Given the extremely high price for this app, I would request a refund, if the option were still available to me. I'm greatly disappointed.
The game is amazing! I love the characters. The music and visuals are great! For anyone wondering why the other guys (shinapchi, sanan, etc...) routes aren't here, it's because this is based off the original hakuoki: demon of the fleeting blossom which only had 6 playable routes. I suggest buying kyoto winds and edo blossoms if you really want to play routes other than the orig. 6 and read a longer storyline. Overall, I think this game is great taking in to fact that this is a mobile otome!
I love it! If you're like me and you hate those otome games where it's 10 easy payments of $9.99 for ONE ROUTE This game is PERFECT. A one time purchase with 5 or 6 fully voice acted routes? YES PLEASE! (However if you downloaded JUST for Tsuda Kenjiro like I did Kazamas route is..well not worth it to be honest and a bit disappointing given the amount of work you have to do to actually get it) Also not all routes available on this phone ver. But! All in all I would 100% reccomend the purchase!
Returning back after a few years. I have mixed feelings about this game, it gave me the sweetest kisses but also crushed my heart with the (1st play) lonely ending upon which I didn't touch the game for two entire months. :/ The story is great, leaving a damn heavy impact. Visuals/sound/voices are a 10/10! Only minus point is the (as usual) weak, defenceless MC. Living with the best swordsmen in whole Japan and still can't fight? Makes me wanna kill her myself. =.= Also... I want Sanan-San!! 😭
Hakuoki is, by far, my favorite traditional Otome game to date. I love all of them (even the side characters) for a variety of reasons, each of the routes, storylines, and various endings tug at the heartstrings from joyful, to wistful melancholy, so tearful. The art is beautiful, the story is well written and compelling, and the anime is damn good too. (Even if Toshizo Hijikata isn't my most beloved of loves.) I always come back to it. I love it. I love my boys.
I love this game a lot. I was going to give it 5 stars but then I realised that it doesn't have the DLC routes that Steam has (Sakamoto Ryoma). Given that I paid for a premium edition on mobile, I would hope that I'd get the new episodes too. Will give 5 stars if that happens.
It's a great game but I have a concern. Why can I not see the other routes for certain characters. Since I bough this I thought I would be able to play each chareater. When I look up the walkthoughs there is a lot my characters that I can play. I wish I was able to get my money back since this is not what was avertiasted. If she was a demon and pure blood at that how come she doesnt have better reflexes. This was a dissapiontment over all.
I had originally put 3 stars on this but decided to give it another chance. It has a slow start but I am enjoying it more this time around so I decided to add a star for now, and hoping it will get even better. I still personally preferred "Amnesia" and "The Letter" to this one. But time will tell :)
Ha I feel in love with this so must bought a PSVista bought all the Hakuoki games then bought a the Movies with English subtitles 😄 😀 Thanks Google play for making me an addict🤣😂 All good well worth it, it's a amazing storyline, the in depth characters well worth it 👌 thank you all who helped this come into development well done 👏

Bought it long ago but finally here to review it. Okay. I bought it on my 3DS, Steam and here. C'mon Idea Factory, give us the english sequels to mobile too!
Intense storyline. This is the best visual novel game I've ever played.
Please buy this. We need more conplete otome like this instead of the freemium ones that will cost you a lot more in the end!

i have purchased this and my tablet broke when i redownloaed it to my new tablet and click on it i just get a blank screen please fix im extremely upset about this.
How come I spent 23 dollars on this but half the options are cut? This makes no sense please fix this or provide a refund.

I loved this story. I have read all the routes. This is one of the best choices type games. Each decision does actually make a difference and changes the story. And there are multiple endings. Some happy some sad depending on your choices. Great job on this one. I do wish there was a route for Shinpachi.

I watched the anime and fell in love. I listened to all the drama cd's and read the manga they released. Until I was finally ready to play the game and trust it was worth the money (even though I got a discount) So far I played through half of the routes and all of the character episodes. Something else I like is all the extra features on this app like the character episodes and the special episode they were so much fun. So really BUY THIS APP.
I found the PS3 game by chance and immediately got addicted. Discovered it had an anime and fell in love with that too. Then this android version came out with an additional scenario and new images so of course I had to purchase this too. Waited for a sale but definitely had to get it. The music is beautiful and the fact that it has voice actors is a huge bonus for a game. It is well written too and thoroughly loved every story route.
I'm not too fond of otome games, but I've taken a liking to Japanese history and Shinsengumi to be precise. This game is not just romance-centric game, but is also aligned to history, for example, you'll notice that if you're in the route where the real historical person survived the war, you'll be living with him with a lot of other people, hence him being alive is aligned to history. Of course rasetsu (Fury) and the whole demon thingy is not there in the history. Nevertheless, they kinda make you think that this is also a possibility somewhere in the history...
Well worth buying an entire game instead of paying numerous microtransactions, waiting to collect currency, or having to pick mediocre dialogue in order to advance the story without it. The story routes are wonderfully diverse, each worth reading and you get plenty of time for the money you spend. Somewhat new to the genre, I play through once before relying on walkthroughs, but I end up needing them for these games, otherwise my choices are just sloppy. Need more otome structured like this.
