A bit frustrating you automatically come out of the app, for example if you're checking another bank account or a document on your phone, so you then have to log back in...other than that, no complaints. The app works well, easy to make payments as well as checking on other halifax accounts.
Brilliant app! I have to send payments to people quite regularly and it has always gone smoothly. The only time I have ever had issues with payments is when I have had to make larger payments and the transaction is declined (I actually really appreciate the security). It's really easy to find help with banking on the app. On the rare occasion I can't find something it's easy to get in touch with a person.
Brilliant, quick and easy banking and has the ability to pay in cheques. It saves me so much time and as I have a disability means I dont have to worry about going into the red and if I accidentally do I can sort it out quickly. No need for banking hours. Update: my memorable information is no longer recognised and trying to retrieve it is a nightmare. Followed instructions on the screen ended up phoning for help, spent an hour + trying to get sorted and still cannot get into mobile banking! 🤬
The app would be a whole lot better if I wasn't hassled (literally!) every other day to 'rate this app'. And no way of turning it off, to make matters worse the pop-up reminder always appears just as you are in the middle of trying to make an important transaction. Infuriating beyond belief.
I barely leave a review but feel I have no other option now. I have used this app for many years without any problems. But in the last 6 months I cannot use this app at all. Every time I try to use it, it crashes the phone completely and requires a hard reset! I have been patient and waited this long with no new results from updates. For something people rely on daily this is a shambles. For security I have very complex and long passwords for this and using the Web is tedious! Galaxy S21 ultra.
Been using this app for many years and have been relatively happy with it. They have now introduced a tool to check your credit score, which in my opinion is pretty poor. My credit score across all of the major agencies is very high, yet this tool gives me a credit score considerably lower than the major agencies. One of those reasons being that I do not have a mortgage. That's a pretty poor selling tactic in my opinion.
Crashes when I try to login. What's the point of the apps existance if you can't even log in? Update: Disabling gesture navigation on my Samsung device stopped the app from crashing and allowed me to login. After completing the first login, enabling gesture navigation doesn't affect the app anymore. Hope an update to fix this issue is pushed out soon.
So glad I switched to Halifax, this app is so easy to use yet very secure and I have so much control and all the information I could want. Reminds me when direct debits are due, prompts me when they've increased ( eg. energy bill) let's me know what I've spent for the week, and gives me instant updates on all transactions. Such a relief to have everything so clear and up to date.
Still doesn't work - it used to work but every time the app is opened it spins for a bit and then says "App Launch Failed. Sorry we are having technical problems. Try again later". I've tried again a few times over the past few weeks but it's never worked again. From the many other comments I would imagine this is a fault on Android caused since the last update. I am not using Samsung and phone is Android 10.
If I could give it a 0 I would ! Used to work fine but had this problem for over a month now ! After the last update it is not compatible with My phone . Having to use the website which is fine I suppose. When you are in a rush and have to go through all the security and transfering money between accounts takes far too long ! Just sort the bloody app out already ! 19th March still not working... ridiculous .. I have to log in using the website which is a slow process . Please just fix it!
Works ok for routine stuff like checking balance are making a payment but useless for any support issues. Automated assistant is completely useless and even when I get through to a person they are no help. Usual answer is to call them, then you wait on the phone for 2 hours before the call gets cut off. Don't bother with this app, frankly don't bother with the Halifax!
Still various problems & gliches experienced on here and the app as they are not coordinated _ this leads to gaps in required links and funtions., particularly paying the card between banks and changing a direct debit. The app / website simply doesn't either, offer the option or cannot complete the function. These things need a proper upgrade and reconfigure,in my humble opinion. Paul Fensom.
New phone can't log onto it the app, everything is upto date on the app and on the phone software!! Not been able to use the app for months now! Frustrating!!! Sort this out Downloaded the new update STILL not working! Pointless having the app if it doesn't work ! Considering changing bank's SORT IT OUT!!! wouldn't even give it 1 star if I had a choice
Edit: Doing well keep it up - 2019! 2022, compelled to leave a review due to the following: the app is starting to consistently say 'technical difficulties...' after 5 attempts I can log in, great. I start to navigate In the app and suddenly 'technical difficulties....' and I can't use the app and the screen goes blank. Please Halifax, sort this out! In a time where there is so many banks with great apps, I am trying to stay loyal to you but you are making it increasingly difficult! S21 Ultra
Used to be great. The last week, presumably since an update, it crashes every time after the fingerprint sign in. Cleared cache, uninstalled and reinstalled, still the same. Samsung A52. Update, I've fixed the problem. My Samsung had removed the app permissions, I guess because I hadn't used it for a while. Regranted permissions for camera and files/media and it now works. Disappointing that Halifax can't come up with this as the answer.
This app is great for every day banking. It only takes seconds to transfer funds to my kids, and they receive it instantly. It does however, have two flaws that I have come across so far. When I set up a standing order using the app. It never goes out, and says I don't have enough funds, yet I do. Also, if i use food delivery apps, such as deliveroo, i have to go to this app to tap permission for funds to leave my account, they never do, and I have to cancel my food. Bear that in mind. Hence 4*
I can only give this app 1 star. Had it for years now, yes its great for instant access to your accounts and to be able to transfer money between other accounts and recipients. But I've been trying to open an everyday saver account for weeks now and the app simply refuses to do anything, so having to waste time making an appointment at my local Halifax branch. For a supposed quick and easy app this really needs looking in to.
I physically cannot get into the app. Every time I click on the app it just wouldn't open and this has been happening for over a month now. I checked to see if the app needed updating but it didn't. I tried resetting my phone and still nothing. For me to check my account I have to go online and do all the signing in, which is frustrating. Not even sure I want to keep this account anymore😒
The app is clunky at the best of times. The only finance so I have that regularly does not work; today it is failing to launch. When it does start the start process is very slow and the user interface is poor. Glad I bank with First Direct and only use a Halifax credit card
Great app better than Santander love the cheque functionality. Only feedback I'd have would be to have an option to prevent purchases abroad because my card was cloned and 2 out of 10 transaction attempts from a scammer abroad were successful. Had everything back plus compensation but would be nice to have that option for added security.
Edit 22/05/2022: Thank god it is working again now! So glad it has been fixed, nice to see that action has been taken to resolve issues 13/05/2022: Can't use it anymore. Used it for years until today it says error 9300100 can't log in because your device is jailbroken. It isn't. Phoned Halifax support and they said uninstall and reinstall. Done it 4 times now, restarting, deleting, clearing cache etc. It still says the same error. If you have Samsung S9 too you won't be able to use it anymore.
I was offered a money transfer option, and cannot complete the transaction due to changes made to the app. Previously I could minimise or background the app and switch back within 1 min, and the session was still open. Now as soon as the app is moved from the foreground for any reason it signs you out. This is an issue because part of the verification process for a money transfer involves you answering a call to input a security code displayed on stage 4 of the app process. This signs you out.
It's a very messy layout. Could down with being neater and less cluttered. When making a payment via debit card a small message saying it's been received and will take a few days to show would help. Small things make a big difference. Capital One's app is much more refined and informative compared to this.
Only installed this app since I can no longer download statements from the web site. Doesn't download to the normal folder but to its own /Android/data/com. folder. Doesn't tell you this. Doesn't allow this to be changed in Settings. Intensely irritating.
If I could leave 0 stars I would. I've used the app since it came out and never had any problems until the last fews months! I can't use the app as it crashes and then closes. Terrible! Half tempted to leave as customer.
I have used this app for years, and it used to be a great app. I use it to manage a current account and a credit card account. Recently, all traces of my credit card account disappeared from the app but fortunately were restored quite soon. However, an ongoing issue yet to be resolved, is that all my contact details have vanished from my profile. If I try to re-input them, I get an error message telling me to log out and try again later. This has been going on for days.
