Hallow’s intuitive, convenient and personalized experience begins with a 9-day introduction that guides you step-by-step through three different methods of prayer. After this, it’s up to you to choose from our collection of over 500 sessions across three different sections:
Dailies: Daily prayers across methods including Christian Meditation, Lectio Divina, the Rosary, Spiritual Writing, and the Examen.
Praylists: Sessions across a variety of prayer methods, all centered on one particular theme e.g., joy, humility, making decisions, calm, letting go.
Challenges: Prayers usually focused on re-discovering the beauty within traditional prayers for example: the Our Father, Stations of the Cross, Saints and Psalms.
In addition to the above sections, Hallow offers a number of features to help users customize their prayer experience:
* Journal for users to capture their thoughts after every prayer
* Choice between male and female guides
* Options for 3 different lengths for every prayer (typically 5, 10, or 15 minutes)

* Option to include calming background music in any session

There's 1 thing that really bothers me and that is, losing my place in anything I am playing, praying, and listening to. I could play anything & pause it, but when I reopen the app; it does an infinite buffering animation (loading circle). The only way to fix it, is to close the thing I am listening to or close the app. I lose all the progress & I have to play from the beginning (unless I remember where I stopped it, which I often don't.) With this technical issue, this is not worth a renewal.
I've added to my routine the prayers I wanted, thank you. I have a suggestion. Pause playback when a notification is being received. It's hard to hear over the notification sound. Also, if it's time fo a scheduled routine but it's already been started, supress the notification. When in my routine allow 'play next session" to play next unplayed sesssion not the session that is for the current time. I'm often late. Thank you.
I recommend it to everyone I know. So many prayers with new ones added often, I've learned of many I didn't know. Great for siesta. Favorite features: mood-based recommendations, music playlists, rain background sound, notification reminders to pray, sense of community and prayers for the world's current needs. Artwork is awesome too.
I love Hallow. They have so many great options available. Such as Audiobook readings of St. Therese of Lisieux, rosaries, novenas, the Bible in a Year Podcast with Father Mike Schmitz, night prayer, Daily Miracles, Mental Health litany/prayers, and so much more. I use this app so many times every day. It has brought me closer to Jesus during the hardest trial of my life yet. Thanks Hallow community.
I primarily use this app to help me go to sleep. Jonathan Roumie reading the Beatitudes with his Jesus voice is excellent. I upgraded upon the release of the Thérèse Challenge. My main complaint is the selection of a male voice to read the Song of Songs (my favorite book of Scripture). Hearing a man saying "Let him kiss me with kisses of his mouth," felt out of place, so I turned it off. A female reader, such as Abby, would be more appropriate given it's narrated from the Bride's perspective.
Update 05/09/2022- I've been subscribed for a year and a half now and have no regrets. There are so many prayers I can can do! I use this app at least 4-6 times a day. Whether I'm walking my dog, taking a shower, or sitting in silence, I always have an opportunity to pray. Super awesome way to check in with God. Especially in times of stress and worry. The different categories give a variety into understanding God's Word and other Catholic prayers. Will definitely subscribe when I'm able to!
I have sent three emails regarding a scholarship inquiry over the past ten days and still no response. There also seems to be a bug in the app where it doesn't check off what you have completed. Of course, this is a minor issue compared to my first concern. Otherwise, this is a very well done app and I still would advise everyone to use it for their spiritual growth. Update: Email now answered after my review and an application link was sent. Scholarships are for one year if you're approved.
SO very grateful to have been gifted a subscription to this amazing app! I've only been using it for a week, but I'm thoroughly enjoying it thus far! The Lenten Challenge is beautiful. I'd recommend this app to anyone looking to enrich their prayer life. I love how many different aspects to prayer this offers; from meditation, to rosaries, stations, daily reflection, daily mass readings, praying with saints, and even praying with my kids! The list goes on! Definitely something for everyone!
Beautiful App with overwhelming information but I found myself feeling like I'd spent less time with God than before because it's all through someone else. IF you want to PAY, there's a wealth of great Catholic content- BUT, the tendency to rely on the app instead of friendshop with Christ & the Holy Spirit has turned me off. Who needs more screen time? not me, definitely not for $60/ year!
The text and audio are in Spanish (which I'm learning but not ready to use in something like this YET) Everything else is in English as I thought the app would be in. I'm deleting this again FOR THE LAST TME after trying it twice and getting the same problem. After reading some of the critical reviews, especially people being charged AFTER they canceled their subscription, maybe God was telling me to stay away from you. 24 April 2022 downloaded app to try again SUCCESS AUDIO and TEXT IN ENGLISH
I just downloaded this app. So far, it helps me to pray even better. The prayers are engaging & I especially like the feature where you can add ambience sounds on the background of the prayers. It helps me to immerse deeper when meditating during prayers. Highly recommended. Thanks, Hallow!
My favorite Catholic prayer and meditation app :) It really helps me focus, and I'm grateful it gives me so many ways to do that and feel connected to my larger community. If I could give a suggestion, I would really love to have an Ignatian Contemplation prayer option offered one of these days. Overall, the app is wonderful, and I would recommend it to anyone who would like a little boost in focusing on prayer.
I'm only using the free version right nowand I'm in the first week. I like the features you get, especially the Levi lectio devina. It's easy to navigate and use and the images used are fresh and modern so it doesn't feel like it's your grandparents app.
Love it! I adore this app! I was using it about everyday, but it keeps signing me out and hasn't worked for me at all lately :( I haven't been able to use it this last month, except maybe once. I've tried clearing the cache and updating and all that. Help please! So I can get back to using this everyday! I miss my daily rosary and bible in a year!
I can say this without any reservation: this app is a Godsend. It well thought out and well produced. I am looking forward to exploring all the different features, meditations, prayers, and series.
I really like this app. I like the voices. I like everything about it. I would give it 5 stars EXCEPT it keeps closing for me everytime I open it. It can also be glitchy and slow. When I first downloaded it, I didn't have these closing issues. It just started. I've restarted my phone, uninstalled and reinstalled the app to no avail. Very disappointing.
This app is amazing. Just a couple things would make it a full 5 stars. There is currently no way (that I've found) to return to what is currently playing if you navigate away (to review your journal from the day, for instance). You can tap on the prayer you were praying, but it brings you back to the launch screen to start it over. Also, there are features you can't access unless the app pops up a tile on the home screen, like the chat feature. Having access to those things would be helpful.
I really love the Hallow app! It helps me to quiet my heart so that I may listen to God and be healed by Him. The only feature that I wish it had is a page where you can easily resume the praylists that you have been using frequently. Another feature I would like to see is a "previous" and "next" button, so that, if for example I was listening to the Bible in a Year podcast, then I could easily go to the next episode, without having to take many steps navigating through the app.
I loved listening to story of a soul, but so much of the content I can get for free elsewhere. I would like to have my subscription fee that was charged to my account after the free 2 week trial refunded.
great app with lots of content. I like that I've been able to create routines in the app that remind me to use different content throughout the day (eg. night prayers at 9:45pm).
I want to update my 3 star review to 5 stars. I love the app, but couldn't figure out how to cancel it. I just don't have optional funds at this time. Once I found the support email, they cancelled it for me and all was taken care of.
Hallow is an awesome resource for those of us who want to "catch back up" with the Lord. I am Catholic but have not always been engaged throughout my life, this app will help me get back some lost time. Thanks to Mark Wahlberg for introducing us to the power of Hallow, staying prayed up is the only way back to the Lord.
I deleted my last review since they seem to have included things that I hoped for. I appreciate this app, I may pay for a subscription in the future. For now, the free version offers what I find to be the most beneficial to me. I like the guided rosary and unguided prayers.
This app is phenomenal! There is so much to explore and learn about our faith. I've just found the Daily Miracle and they're each amazing. Even though I'm a cradle Catholic, have gone to parochial school with Sisters, been in Bible Studies, and practice my faith, I find this app to be a TREASURE CHEST full of knowledge and hope and daily inspiration. Thank you for blessing us with this tool to guide us to a deeper love of God.
I did not know I would love this app so much. I never had trouble praying, but when I pray and listen to the Scriptures with Hallow, it feels like I am praying with others, like I have prayer partners. All the Scripture commentary and readings are taking me to God in new ways. I actually look forward to waking up in the night so I can pray with Hallow or listen to the Scriptures. The "Bible in a Year" is an outstanding feature, with great commentary at the end of each day's readings.
I was super excited about this app being able to say the rosary everyday on the way to work or while on a walk except for the fact it constantly stops and then it doesn't hold your place you have to start all over and I have to do this at least four or five times.
I loved it! I'm exploring its features since its my first time to install it. I hope you accept monthly payment for this because not all can afford one-time payment for a year.

Excellent app for praying and meditating. I have a few suggestions: Please let us make personalized music playlists, each song that is in my favorite list has to be played separately. Please add more content in Spanish, maybe invite famous Hispanic Catholics like hermana Glenda, Martín Valverde and others to read prayers like you do with the prayers in english.
Overall very good app, but it does have some persistent bugs around the routines which are frustrating. Updated 1/7/22 The bugs continue to pile up in Android. 5/3/22 It took some doing, but I was able to communicate to support and they fixed one of the issues I brought to them about the routines. And then the devs reached out here and to my email and showed they care about the customer feedback. That's what you want with this great content. 5 stars.
