It's a fantastic site and very easy to use. Only issue is when trying to log in for messages and absences, I have to log in, log out then log back in again for absence to show up. Other than that, I love this app.
This is a terrible app. Logging in almost never works, the absence reporting has suddenly disappeared, and much of the main page is simply links to websites. The old safe arrival app was much better.
Sending notifications is difficult as frequently it won't allow me to log in, which is a pain if you have a sick child at home! (otherwise I'd give it more stars) Receiving them is not a problem.
downloading it yet again to see if the report attendance function reappears. this app is terrible, but sadly mandatory for school.😡 Update this app is complete garbage, if I could give it negative 5 stars I would. IT NEVER WORKS TO REPORT ABSENCE!!!
absence reporting seems to have crashed for some reason. It not longer works. App has been deleted. I'm not impressed.
The messenger app within this app is downright horrible. I have to reset my password everytime I try to use it. Useless.
Norton consistently flags this app as a PUA and a privacy risk "This app is sharing your personal information but the location is unknown". ???!!!???
The app is very inconsistent from device to device and not convenient, on that it prompts for a download of other apps for features in this app to work.
This app is always helpful during school closures or bus cancellations
Messages should be taken as read from all apps Otherwise wonderful app Keeps track of all messages And cashless account Great
Absence reporting not accessible in App. You need the desktop site to do that.
The absence link is missing! When it's there, it is easy to use.
improvement on old system of phone calls for closures and bus issues
Very user unfriendly. Takes forever to report absence.
It is fast way to keep up to date with the latest news.
awful and slow app with an outdated interface
This is the worst app in the world. Because it has to do with school. Too much info needed
Easy to use and navigate.
Lots of bugs and not functioning
since an update app will not let me log in!
If its Halton School Board and my student and their information..its should know my location ..including my Country...
just links to websites or other apps
Perfect on how to handle your kids schooling stuff
Great tool to have
easy to use!
Easy to use
School Boards need a CTO to help choose an effective technology platform for these things. The platform used here is dated and the integration with existing data is poor. It's an app that takes you to websites and looks ugly and carries a problematic UX. These are easy problems to solve vs taking the seemingly cheap path that is consistently taken. I expect more of the public school system in this day and age. Feel free to contact me for guidance. That said, the permission problem seems fixed as of the latest update.
What a joke of an "app". Most buttons take you to the same webpage you could already access. Only now it's within the confines of this app, resulting in a terrible user interface and reduced screen real estate. I don't know who thought this was a good idea, but I'm uninstalling it to stick with my web bookmarks. They're easier to use, and I shudder to think of how many of our tax dollars were wasted on this.
App requests way too many permissions. Does the HDSB really need to spy on parents? This app has access to: Identity - find accounts on the device Calendar - read calendar events plus confidential information add or modify calendar events and send email to guests without owners' knowledge Contacts - find accounts on the device Location - approximate location (network-based) precise location (GPS and network-based) Phone - directly call phone numbers Photos/Media/Files - read the contents of your USB storage modify or delete the contents of your USB storage Storage - read the contents of your USB storage modify or delete the contents of your USB storage Camera - take pictures and videos Wi-Fi connection information - view Wi-Fi connections Other - receive data from Internet view network connections pair with Bluetooth devices access Bluetooth settings full network access run at startup control vibration prevent device from sleeping
The app on android at least, doesn't allow me to create an absence notification. We have looked, the last few times, and it isn't there. Also instead of allowing you to go back on Android, you can only exit. At least it tells you to tap the second time to exit. This is either poorly designed or designed for iPhone alone - oh, same thing!
