Ham Solar | HAP Chart
A Hourly Area Prediction (HAP) Chart feature is also provided by this app. Its specifies the Maximum Usable Frequency (MUF) for HF communications between the base specified and any location on the map. The colors represent the MUF for communications between that location on the map and the base selected.
Thus, if communications are required to or from Minneapolis, a HAP chart for Minneapolis should be used. The other end of the circuit is then found on the HAP chart and the color at that location gives the MUF for that circuit.
Hourly HAP Charts are HAP Charts based on current ionospheric conditions observed with ionosondes in the region of interest. An Hourly HAP Chart is only valid for the current hour due to the highly variable nature of the ionosphere.
It is also helpful to view HAP Chart propagation from the perspective of distant locations. In this manner you can determine if they are able to reach the Midwest with a usable MUF.

I don't have a permanent receive set up - I usually use the kitchen table. This app gives me an idea of whether, or not it is worth getting set up. There is usually good corelation with WWV reception at 10 and 15 mhz and chu at 3.33 mhz.
Very useful propagation app for both the ham and SWL communities. The latest version (updated October 14th) is much improved over previous versions, especially the image resolution. 73 from Northern Utah!
It works. Easy to interpret displays. Only question is on how specific to my area and recent the data is. Would like to see that info.

I check this every day and appreciate the content. I'm still using this app on almost daily basis. The higher res display is much nicer. Tnx to the developer for making that change.
The first thing it wants is access to your media. It has NO NEED to access your media to tell you your solar index. Don't give it permission or if can watch while you change clothes. It's that what you want? By the time you read this I Will have uninstalled it.
Being a Shortwave Radio Listener for 35 years now, this APP allows me to get a quick check of current conditions so I know what to expect. Super easy to use. If your a SWLner , ham operator or both, this APP is a must.
Seems like a good app. Very informative. Not sure how accurate it is yet. Also, would be useful to provide a graph of UTC vs. MUF and LUF.

Like the app. It did go haywire at one point opening lots of chrome tabs for some reason. Reinstalled app and it's worked fine since.
Solar weather report! Just what i needed. displays band health. -1 star because i would have also liked this data as a widget. Then it would be perfect!

Getting asked to rate the app every other time you open it is super annoying. Does what it says though. 3 stars
Why does this need access to local storage? Poor, unintuitive UI. Would function better as a web app.
Great to keep an eye on solar conditions. Should be updated to account for FT-8 performance on hf. Five star if it covers FT-8!

Simple app that displays the propagation chart. Does exactly what I need it to do.

A "must have" for hams! It's a no frills app, just straightforward information you need to know about solar conditions. The same graphic is available online at verious sights, but having the app is so much easier. I use it to determine whether I am going to jump on the radio and operate, or if it is better to go do something else as my free time is limited.
