Ham Test Prep (New)

I like the app. it does have a bug. once a question is asked that needs one of the schematics it does not go away for the remainder of the test requiring a lot of scrolling. also not sure why you didn't update the original version because I acualy downloaded the wrong version and was studying that one for a week before I realized there was a new version. might want to take the old version down.

Used it with a study guide to pass the extra. Don't be surprised if it crashes 2 to 3 times in a row when starting the app on an Android, or suddenly locks up and stops responding. (Which is why I also used the ARRL study guide.) It is an effective app, although it can be frustrating to use.

Easy way to prepare for the Ham exam. It contains all 3 current levels of exams, the interface is simple and does the job of learning and preparing for the test. You can take multiple tests and the questions will be randomized from the question pool. Edit: one criticism I have is when questions asking to identify a component in a circuit diagram, the diagram is missing. It would have been great if an image was displayed.

PLEASE FIX! After answering a question wrong, your program highlights the correct answer. After moving forward one question, then tabbing back to study the question and answer, the correct answer is not highlighted, nor can you select the correct answer the second time. Also would be nice to be able to reset individual sections, and subsection. Thank you for making this available for my studies!

I enjoy using this app to study for my Tech and General licenses. There are, however, a few issues that I feel need to be addressed. 1. Some formatting in the questions needs to be corrected as there are what I'm assuming are escape characters (\) located in the text. They were not there in the previous version. Also, is there a particular reason quotations and apostrophes do not exist? 2. As mentioned in other reviews, once a schematic is displayed in a question, it never goes away. It makes answering subsequent questions bothersome and can be quite annoying. I think I've only noticed this in the Technician question pool, but it may also occur while taking General exams. I apologize for not remembering. 3. Lastly, and what I consider most important, as mentioned by other reviewers, once a question is answered correctly or incorrectly the statistics never update. It would be preferable to have live and up to date statistics to help one focus on areas where more study is needed. It is rather annoying to master a section but the app statistically only recognizes the first attempt. That being said, it is a handy app to help prepare for Ham radio exams.

Works for quizzing but that's about it. Help button would be more useful if it gave hints or context/source/equation to finding the correct answer. Extra Level questions are currently out of date. Hoping for an update soon, since that's what I'm trying to study for now... Otherwise good app and I'd recommend it.

Not showing diagrams for technician practice test or studying. It's also a little funky on weather it lets you study certain sections. Like if I mastered a section it won't let me go and review anything. Not sure if that's a feature or error. Would be 5 stars if the diagrams worked. That's one of the few sections I need to study

This is a very good test preparation app, but: the Technician test pool has not been updated to the final form (July 2018). lt is missing the final changes to the test pool. It would get 5 stars if the final test pool were completed. The problems with the schematics in the Technician pool has not yet been addressed. 11/30/2019 The General test pool has been updated (July 2019) pool. This had been my favorite app to recommend to students in my classes. Great user interface.

While taking the practice exams for Tech, questions involving the referencing of a figure or diagram for the answer have the figure missing. For example, "in F1 what component is item 6?" (This is a rough example from memory, not cut and pasted) The question only has the text no table/figure to reference. Also please remove old versions of the app as they will confuse new people looking to study for current exams. They won't realize outdated study material in not on the current exams.

Pretty great free app. I used it to get to the general lisence. However it has three issues keeping it from a five star review. 1. In the technician questions about schematic symbols, the schematics do not show. 2. In the last safety questions in the general exam questions, the app freezes on one of the last questions and returns to the home page. 3. The amateur extra questions are out of date. It looks like the app has the ability to update the questions, but this has not been done.

This app is a good idea, but lacking in many ways: 1) there are no images for the questions in section T6C, making it impossible to answer questions 2) when I complete a section, the percentage of mastery doesn't change to reflect progress 3) the practice exams aren't randomized. I've done over 20 iterations and have only seen 38% of the questions.

The app doesn't randomize as I would expect: there are many questions from the pool that I have answered correctly numerous times and others that have never displayed. The "Prefer unmastered elements" setting doesn't appear to have any effect.

Downloaded the "fixed" update 11/23/19 but General section is still not working. When I open the app a pop up flashes on screen, like a flicker. When I try the "practice" for general the app shuts off. When I try the "study" for general it says t select an element but doesn't show choices. I would rate 5 stars if the General part worked.

Really awesome, but when the components pop up, there is no image. Its not terrible because there's usually only one question each practice test, but it would be better to have the images as a resource.

I like this app a lot. However, I wish it had a mode that highlights the answers without making a new person guess. Read the question and the right answer, then go to read the questions and select the right answer. Also, it references diagrams, but doesn't provide them for reference. Hello.

Great, simple app for practice on the go. I've used this for all 3 tests now and it really helped being able to tear through a quick practice exam in waiting rooms or airports. Helps a lot with confidence in the material!

This app helped me pass my technician test.. like the format very well. Please update the general to the current question pool. Unfortunately I think the update broke General questions.. I cannot open the question pool. I will try to uninstall and reinstall with hopes that it will work. November 23 update didn't fix the general exam. Still crashes.

helpful app. the only thing that is annoying is when you have a question with a schematic the schematic never goes away. overall a good study aid. taking my technitions test tomorrow.

Was a 5 and then you had to go and mess with it lol. No, but seriously it is useless to me now. The general does not work. Update: It won't let me finish some of the general class question sections. It will jump back to the beginning of the section and does not keep score.

I used this app to prepare for my Technician and General exams and am using it to prepare for the Extra. I just installed it on my daughter's tablet so she can prepare for the Technician exam. My only gripe is that if I miss passing a section then come back later and pass it the app still shows me that I haven't passed. Minor matter all things considered.

I like and have recommended the app. The only issue I have is the Amateur Extra question pool is two years out of date and the app says no updates available.

Pretty functional. Very helpful. I appreciate the effort out in by the creator. Only down side is that when questions with diagrams come up the diagrams do not close on the following questions.

The program is great for study The only issue is that there seems to be a bug with trying to do any problem past G0B11. It crashes. Still great program.

Mostly good, but a bit stupid to ask questions about diagrams during the practice test without showing the diagrams. There are better free test apps.

well-matched!. Does NOT have the schematics for a number of schematic based questions. One of the only downsides.

Used this to take all 3 exams. It was a enormous help. The statistics it keeps are invaluable. Simple and effective. Thank you are creating it!
