HamRadioExam - Technician

Started using this app as a secondary studying source (for verification) to another app. There are a few small glitches but overall a good tool to help studying for the test. When I ask to start a test it asked if I want to finish another test but all have been completed. I like being able to take a quiz on specific groups and look back on missed questions. I've already recommended it to others.

The quizzes and such are great, but has a small issue. Once you either close or switch to another app, it will hang upon going back to the app, at which time you wait for the not responding message to appear to formally close the app. Other than that, it works great.

Overall, this application is good for review and practice testing for the Technician exam. On occassion, when I get to the end of a practice test and check the results, there will be the statement that I have selected the wrong answer to a question. The problem is that the 'missed' question never showed up during the practive test. Not sure how this is happening but I have seen this result on more than one practice test.

This app is awesome and effective for getting spun up on the exam but it's held together by duct tape and bailing wire. Tried it on 2 different tablets and my Pixel 6 Pro and it's unstable on all of them.

Great way to study to for Amateur Radio exams - there's an app for each test. I particularly like the ability for candidates to study only correct answers before they start practice tests. I will certainly suggest this for folks looking to test. Would be nice to eventually combine the 3x into one app though. But great work!

Great app, helped me feel confident about my ability to pass the technician test. I was a little confused by the suggested areas to study function. It didn't seem to reflect things I had answered incorrectly. That's the only reason this got 4 rather than 5 stars. Will be using Mr. Watson's corresponding apps to prepare for the other tests.

This is the best app I have seen. I like the way it highlights the answer in green. When studying, one can just memorize the answer. I read through the first 10 segments then took a practice test. Out of all of those, I only missed 4. It's very helpful!

I rated this highly before and now since I just passed my Extra and my granddaughter is about to pass her Technician exam, I wanted to report back to you. Roy's app is the very best. You can take the section exams or the whole test. It keeps records of missed questions so you can study those. Tip: Erase the app data each week so that the history shows only what you still need help with. The order of the questions changes each time you try them. This is the only app you need!!!!

Generally, I like the program. However, I would MUCH prefer if it had an option to just start with question 1 of the 350* question pool and allow the user to go through them just like one does currently but only after having selected from a "group" of about dozen questions. I really do not like having to finish a "group" then select another "group" to study...mostly because I may have forgotten the "group" identifier label (e.g. T2C) that I just finished. In other words, I lose my place. It would also be nice to be able to stop the reviewing, turn "off" the app, and come back later to the exact same place at which I had just previously stopped. I'd like to be able to just review the ENTIRE pool question by question, and if I pause, be able to return to where I was...even days later...even if I was at the next to the last question in the pool. *-at least, I think it's about 350 questions in the current Tech pool And same thing eventually for the General Class license study tool. Due to an disabling accident, I let my license expire and I'm just getting to revive it but now plan to extend it to General. But, I still have to retake the Tech level exam. ...and thanks for the assistance with these exams.

I can't open a sample quiz. Just keeps saying building sample quiz forever. Do you have any ideas how to fix this problem. I restarted my phone, reinstalled the app, change from over wifi and data.

If you need to do something else for a moment, when you go back to the app it usually freezes, and when closed and re-opened it's often still frozen.

Same as Douglas... You leave to check another app and it locks up. Have to restart it again. Even with it still running, just checking something else, go back to this and it's stuck. Great app though otherwise. Fix this and 5 stars all day...

This app works! I passed my technician exam using nothing but this app to study. I read one section per day and took the review until I had completed all 10 sections. Then I took nine sample exam, four of them being on the day I tested. Thank you so much to the creator of this app!

This made the exam a breeze. Took me about six minutes. This is current to the question set as of October 2020. Take a couple sections per day and review the entirety a couple times and you will be golden. Highly recommend! No ads!!!

This is an awesome app! Used it for probably 15 hours total and passed my exam, missing only 5 questions. Thanks to the creator, gonna send this guy a donation! Looking forward to using his app for the general license too.

Great information... but the app wont open or load 90% of the time. I've never had an app not work like this one does.

This app helped me pass the test within two weeks. Super easy to use for memorizing the answers quickly. Use the General app at the same time, and passed the same day.

Doesn't work on s5 G900R4.02 with a few development options turned on. I can give the full list of parameters from my phone if it would be of use to anyone. (white screen).

A clever app for test review. Thanks for the very useful mobile study aid. I purchased the very affordable ARRL Ham Radio License Manual 4th ed. A must-have to understand the concepts and a useful reference for safe practice, I highly recommend it.

I passed with a 100% after using this to study. Good interface, stable, and the random practice tests are great.

I used this app a lot and now have my license. Awesome there are some ads, but if you close all your apps put your phone in airplane mode viola no ads.

I spent money on another app a year or so ago. It was drudgery hacking my way through that and I got nowhere with it. THEN.. I saw this little "free" app and thought I would try this. I found within 10 minutes I LOVE learning this way, and I couldn't get enough of it. Review Section, Take Section Test, move forward. In one EZ week I own the material, and I took Tech Exam at a ARRL site today, passing it w/ a 100% score. This is THE WAY TO GO! Thanx Roy !

Easy way to prepare for the Ham Technician level exam. The interface is simple and does the job of learning and preparing for the test. You can take multiple tests and the questions will be randomized from the question pool.

Great app! Used this for study and passed my tech test first try and only missed one answer. Highly recommend. Read through all the questions and then take sample tests and track your results.

Awesome App!!!!! Just took my Ham Radio Technician test and scored a perfect 100% on the test....this app is the best app I have ever used...would highly recommend it for practicing and prepping for your Technician test....just do it!!!!

Easy to use. Experienced an occasional lockup, but I aced my test using this app alone. I searched the web for unfamiliar terms and calculations so I could learn the material more thoroughly. Used the same app for the General.

This app is an amazing tool to help with studying for the technician test. You can take as many practice tests as you want and the questions are exactly what is on the actual test. Repetition is key to remembering the questions for the test so take as many practice exams as you can.

I love this app. I believe it will help me pass the test. But today I went on and the app sits there with a black screen. I have a Samsung and if you can fix this issue Watson, I would love that.

At first I didn't like this app. But after some time a tinkering with it I managed to figure it out. Combining it with study on my own I should be able to get to the point where I can pass the technicians exam.
