Handbook Plus
There is no official Android app for Scoutbook, and for most people there isn't a need for one. For most people simply creating a desktop shortcut for Scoutbook from the standard Chrome browser will meet all their needs.
A scouter asked for a customized browser for a scout who had an Android device without a web browser. This was the idea behind Scoutbook Plus and still the primary function. It is a dedicated web browser for the Scoutbook web site.
Handbook Plus has extended this initial concept and provides a few extra features. It is fullscreen and provides fractionally more screen area. It also currently supports the Green Sliders extension available for Chrome that allows the appearance of the on/off switches to be customized.
Without a browser installed in your system Handbook Plus will display error messages for any links that lead off the site. If a browser is installed it will instead open those links in the installed browser. It will handle email and phone links in a similar fashion.

Have used this app for 2 yrs without issues but now app will not open. After multiple attempt to reinstall still no luck.
I like being able to keep the books updated sitting at the campfire.
Can not login on a pixel 2 keyboard disappears.
It seems they have fixed a lot of the bugs reported here. It is a little cumbersome to navigate, but I love having the requirements accessible and being able to see the progress, not just when the adventure is complete. Haven't linked with other leaders yet.
I can get the app to open. But where pictures were are now gone. I can't add to my son's accomplishments.
I too had multiple apps installed, and tried them all. None worked. I am unable to log in, it will not let me click the login button? Appears to just link you to the mobile version of the website? I hope BSA is not paying for this service, if so they just got scammed
It's a good app. Does exactly what the mobile website does. I still prefer the website because chrome saves my password but in this app I have to enter it every time.
The ranks do not advance, nor can you change your Scout's rank. My son has been stuck at Lion and it won't advance. This app essentially does nothing and no support from the company.
It works, but it loads two app icons in my apps folder. It saves my username but not password, I can't upload pictures, back button on phone closes app but other than that it seems fine.
Works well. Connects to the website and Updates properly. Sometimes has a problem with the back button.
Would not work. Would love to use it but it won't even let me log in. So frustrating!
Won't open, the one time it did open it tells me I have to pay to use this worthless app.
There are two ICONS installed for the application. When the application is launched it doesn't fit the screen correctly. Where the status bar is the application is under that. Happens both on my Note 7 and Tab E.
Like anything that leads to website, it is the website with the issue. It works for me.
When I install I have 2 instances of the app installed.
Not bad...definetely could be better. Icons on the top are out of the screen. It is helpful to finally have a Scoutbook app.
I'm super excited to use this!! I can not get the app to allow me to add my boys..... I keep getting an error message.

For whatever reason I have 2 identical apps. I tried uninstalling and re installing. Still end up with 2
Why am I not allowed to view what money is in my son's account?
It wouldn't allow me to login. I had two apps installed and neither allowed me to login so I could see my scouts dashboard. I wish the app worked on my Samsung Galaxy 8, but through other scouts unfortunately it sounds like it only works with iphone users.
Pain to try and log in. If you forget your user name or password you may never know because the app doesn't tell you if something is wrong. Much as i want to be able to use it for my sons, i think it needs some work to achieve a decent level of functionality.
It worked with some kinks about a month ago and now I can't log in. I, too, have multiple apps installed and uninstalling one removed them both.
A MUST FOR ANY CONTACT LEADER. My opinion is that of Unit Commissioner, Pack Trainer and professional systems engineer: Very good job creating a mobile bridge to website. Minor limitations allow for some improvement but overall much more utility than Scouting app. Interested in seeing how it evolves with the Scoutbook website. Also would pay for iPad version.
