Terrible online phone banking experience. I have enough limit for transfering money but it says I have to upgrade the limit again?! Also, the mobile security key is also stupid. I tried many times for upgrading the limit but it said it needs more days for the activation. It's super inconvenient.
Don't really understand why the app has to update every two days; the log in icon in the initial page overlapped with the stocks data, so users basically could never click into the log in one try; the ui design isnt very intuitive either…
Sometimes the updates happen when I need to open the app to conduct some transactions urgently, and I have to wait for the update, not to mention forced update over mobile data. Please add a feature to update next time or when closing the app.
There're a lot of marketing push notifications after the most recent update even if I've disabled all marketing channels in the settings in the app. There's simply no way to turn it off. This is a very dishonest business practice which will just drive your clients away!
The worst app from bank I have ever used. It always requires update when I need to use it, while the apps from other banks don't have this problem.
Very poor app Whenever the app is opened, its take several minutes to get update and sometimes come a message of update error. Significamt nattery draining up to 10%.
The app is good but it's lacking the feature to perform overseas transfer. you can send money locally from HK to HK, you can check your balance, pay bills. If you want to send money overseas you must use a computer and it's annoying.
Can't login with my fingerprints after updating the app. Please fix this issue. Mobile model: OnePlus 8T
Mobile cash withdrawal service is wonderful, but it's annoying to always see "updating" when I open the app and while I'm standing already in front of the ATM
I'm pretty sure the CEO of this bank doesn't use this app. Otherwise he would've fired the developers. Every time you open this app, it forces you to wait for 10 minutes or more for some "update". Worst app I've ever used.
Why can't they include the updates in the standard Google Play Store and have to force us to wait for the update to finish EVERY time we need to use the app? I understand some people may turn off the Play Store update and is not desirable from the bank's point of view. But don't punish the others who have not turned off the Play Store udpate. The app was ok. The 2-star is for the fact that so many customers complain here and they haven't responded or taken any action to improve.

Do not open an account with this bank! They permanently closed my company account while i was outside HK because of COVID19 and they couldn't reach my by post and HK number. It's been a few months now that I'm trying to get back the money i had there to another HSBC but it's impossible, they always make up something new, make you fill in files that won't open or download, endless emails and phone calls and my money is still kept by them. Horrible service, i will never use Hang Seng bank again!
Complete garbage app compared to others, constantly requires long updates that fail. App is barley usable outside of hong kong and the fingerprint is constantly broken or not working
the app needs update every time I use it. taking 10 min! I just need it to generate the password for stock purchase... shifting securities investment away from hang seng
1. for all the years (5-7yr?) its slowness always failed to help me achieve things fast. 2. it does not say "FPS" when it does FPS stuff. Extremely disorienting to rebrand a commonly identified technology. 3. Back to the slowness part, app updates itself every single time i need to use it. Renders the app useless when i want to use it for ATM cash withdrawal. 4. App is fairly stable. No visible crashes but i also don't use it to often
Runs on my pixel 6 now, please allow it to run on more than one device. Schwab can do it, no reason you can't.
Extremely horrible experience for users using Android 10 who has adopted Mobile Security Key. Never able to log in and my account would get locked after entering the correct key 3 times. Apparently there is some compatibility issue with the latest version of Android which has been released for nearly TWO MONTHS already. Being a bank with over a million customers but you can't even do a UAT properly?! No way to go back to dual password login on the app so I can only sit and wait. What a disgrace
The app forcefully requires you to update the app before you can actually open it every single time. This is really annoying in terms of convenience. The other bank apps don't require you to update every week. I would not reccomend this bank app to anyone.
Clumsy app. Basically a one-to-one copy of the eBanking desktop site with very very slight changes. Competitors offer a much cleaner and more mimalistic experience that is more suitable for mobile phone use. Does what it does, but in term of being a phone app, it's too bloated and overall mediocre
How does this app have 4.6 stars? it's literally the worst banking app in the world (and I have used many banking apps from around the world to say this). it's overly complicated, slow (in app update every single time you open it??), you have to manually login each and every time and the interface is cluttered and unusable, and most features don't work properly. this is more like a poorly developed eshopping app than a mobile banking
Slow and tedious. Every time you open the app it takes 30 seconds to 1 minute to refresh, meaning you must wait. And then you sign in with all your credentials. Fingerprint sign in has disappeared. Painful experience!
App is a joke in comparison to any other banking app. Crashes constantly, has ads everywhere, doesnt support the normal android fingerprint api and is super clumsy and bad designed even when it works. EDIT: now its even worse. With both the last two updates the app keeps bricking my account so i have to reset my phone online banking everytime because i cannot login anymore. Unbelievable to me how such a big bank can ship such garbage
Stop pushing thru updates nearly once every month. My phone is low on memory hence each time the app's updated is a painful experience. I'm pretty sure I'm not the only one. Do batch the updates and push them thru in one go less frequently. Users will thank you for that
this app is a disgrace to the bank. i don't need it often, but every time i open this app, it says its updating. the update gets stuck more often than not. so using the app is a totally frustrating experience. i wont use this app if i have a choice. you would think a bank would have the resources to develop a properly functional app. Sigh~~
The app updated (in-app update) and can't be logged in again, tried login without inputting wrong security key some times and it locked my account. Then I resetted the password and logged in on desktop site, the app still can't be logged jn. Deleted the app and reinstall, didn't work and locked my account again .
Stop messing around! Every updates make the UI worse and more complicated than it needs to be; not to mention the ungodly long time to force-update when you open the app. Worst banking app I've used. Edit: I started typing this review while the app is updating. When I was done writing, the update was still going on. Imagine needing to transfer money fast but you can't even access your own account?
