Hangouts

Would be good but it's SO BUGGY! Often won't load anything or won't send photos, etc. Super buggy. I'm on a new Google Pixel phone too! Also, super basic. No privacy or read receipts. Update: None of the bugs have been fixed, years later, and now they're making it worse by removing Google voice sms and forcing us to use a separate app for that. I will be finding a Hangouts alternative (that has privacy!)

It is a amazing app to communicate back and forth. The only tiny problem that I have noticed recently is that at times my companion and I are not receiving notifications that there is a message waiting for us. Which can be very much so of a new sense. Most definitely when we are conducting important business. Besides this one small issue I love Hangout very much so.

It was my original social media site on getting onto the internet three and a half years ago and I have enjoyed it allot! But I think the feature's on other apps, that are more modern are more fun and easier to navigate being able to send to more than one person at a time information that is pertinent to more. And you can't delete anything on this site, I still chat on it from time to time for nostalgia if nothing else.

I really like this app it used to be the best now it seems when you send a message or when somebody sends me a message I don't get it for hours later. It's running slower I keep getting the message sending failed even though the message was sent even when I'm not on the app on my screen it'll say sending failed with the Hangouts logo. It really needs to be updated I'm very disappointed not as good as it was

Amazing to text and call in, and keeps records of previous conversations, good for looking back. Allows me to send multiple pictures at once. I've been using this app for almost 5 years and I hate that's it being replaced. My friend was forced to get the new app and is currently going on a rant.

Hangouts was amazing for my son. Being able to just voice call a group of his friends. I kept the last version that you could do that with as long as possible, but now it's no longer supported. Sending meets links is just rubbish. Please just keep hangouts and the original features. Going to have to find a non Google was of doing this now ☹️

I've been using Hangouts for the past few months and texting sending and receiving pictures works great. The only problem I've been having is in receiving video calls. Regular calls audio is fine on video calls we can see each other but not a party can hear. But other than that this app works great.

I loved this app. It was simple and very straightforward. I have been using it since 2016 and I can still go back and check my messages from back then. The app is being replaced though by Google chats, and Google chats is just horrible. So enjoy hangouts while you still can. I can't seem to open it anymore on my phone. :'(

Apparently On 29 or 30 2021 you upgraded the app in some Manner and you changed some of its formatting and Screen layout and it is now much more difficult to use, I do not know who thinks of these things but you need to put it back the way it was, you changed the face of the type field, you changed some of the colors and you changed the size of the talk-to-text box and Not only was it not necessary, it does make it much more difficult to use. And upgraded supposed to be easier to use, not more

I really enjoy Hangouts. It's a pretty solid RCS messenger and it's extremely functional. I never have any issues with it. The only thing it could use is maybe an update on the UI, but it still looks good enough. Not as nice as imessage, but I don't really care about that all that much.

Hangouts should improve the app. Individual messages cannot be deleted or edited. I also cannot share my music directly to a contact. I have to go to You Tube and share it from there. This app should give one an option to delete the contacts.

Hello this one thing has been bothering me since morning it's 3:45 right now and I hv been not able to contact my best friend because she is not on any other social media platform I am on. I am currently out of station too so u guys should do something this is not right. It keeps showing me hangouts isn't responding even though the network is high. I didn't expect this from my hangouts. On the other hand the app is really good but I hope u fix this issue. Thank you

1.) I don't receive notifications when I get new messages. 2.) I literally have to close the app, and re-open the app to see any new responses from my friend. 3.) I don't understand why it's working so poorly. It seemed to function decently for a while, now it's nearly insufferable.

I use Duo, and thought this app was becoming obsolete until I came across trying to get in touch with family who didn't have a phone line. You can't contact a person on Duo unless they have a phone line. This app is relevant for me again. I am using to contact family without a ph# but do have internet. I do not find the use of Google Chat & Google Meeting, why are you switching Google? I do not want to have to install two separate apps when this app does both messaging & video calls....

I think Google has no clear product strategy. They ended Picasa, a great photos app, and replaced it with Google photos which was worse. They stopped Play Music in favour of YouTube music which is worse. Now stopping hangouts in favour of duo and Gmail chat which are worse. What are they playing at? It enough to make you consider buying Apple...

Terrible! I needed to move the app into the Secure Folder so as to keep my conversations private? But when I move to include Hangouts in the Secure Folder I can no longer sign into the app to use it! Why? To use Hangouts I have to leave the app on the unsecured apps page where anybody who gains access to my tablet can view and read any Hangouts private conversation!

I love this app. There's only one thing that bothers me. At random times I get kicked out and it says "Google Hangout has stopped working" and I cant just go back to the app. I have to restart my phone to be able to use it for a few more minutes until it happens again. At first I was like ok whatever fine it might stop doing that soon....I was wrong. It's been doing that for some time now and it's honestly annoying.

I use it instead of Google chat because I have a low end device and this was built with it, it's better than Google chat and all but ever since the latest update, I couldn't see pictures! Me and my friends send each other a lot of memes, out of context images and other stuff so seeing images are vital. And, I couldn't invite nor receive invites! This app just became a trashcan ever since I updated it (which I regret doing)

Awesome Application for free one of Google's original apps. It needs a lot of work. Needs to be updated was a five.but now I give it a a three. Duo caused the microphone not to work. Go Settings, Apps, duo, Settings , Microphone. Switch to approximate use of Microphone, hope this helps. Now back to four. Keeps going.

It was an absolutely brilliant app. Sadly discontinued, at least on my old Android 6 phone. Can you pkease tell me how to Uninstall it. I have uninstalled at google play twice, but its still there. I am short of free space, with one of my apps (regularly used) not wirking, because of shortage of memmory. Thank you. Haven't seen any adds.

Its an amazing app since you can call without paying and don't even need a phone number, however there are some improvements you could make. Such as a feature to delete messages, I also didn't like the new google meet, and I would have suggested to continue with normal calls

This needs an entire update . I'm not receiving any notifications that I have a message for me from my contacts . I would also like to know how I can remove pictures in certain chats with certain friends . Oh , is there any way that you can make it so that I can save video clips to my albums in my photo gallery . If you can fix these , I will give you a much better feedback .

I am not receiving hangout invites and people dont get when l send also I have tried signing out and signing back in. I've tried uninstalling and reinstalling Hangouts. I've tried restarting my phone. I've clicked the link sent to me, it just brings me to the app store. I then open the app and nothing happens. I have tried copying and pasting the link into Google chrome browser this make me feel too bad

I love this Hangouts app and my family has been using this for years now. The only issue with the app is that the videos don't up load properly. I can't even send a meeting link. Also I hope it updates and adds more privileges. But overall, this app is great!

Hangouts has gotten very hit and miss for the last 6 months. I can see the person I'm calling, but there is no audio. I keep having to uninstall and reinstall the app to get it to work correctly. I get so aggravated that I have to use Skype and it is a wonky app.
