Hanping Chinese Dictionary Pro

HanPing Pro is a fantastic App. I thought it was boring at first, but it quickly became addictive. It would be fantastic if the developer could include tone pairs for reading three or four words that all contain "third tone." Developers can "spice up Widget," and it would be fantastic if they could add new features under pro, such as "lockscreen notification" or "lockscreen theme," to make memorizing Chinese words more fun.

Great app, have used it for years. The add-ons are very helpful, especially the photo translation function. The handwriting recognition is great if you want to work out characters quickly. The ability to link in with Ankidroid flashcards works really well and allows you to easily and quickly review characters. Really good support from the developer as well if needed.

Good software. But you got to buy extra add-on stuff. :( So consequently spent another 16 Dollars more than expected but the software seem high quality and great. Would still recommend if you're serious about learning Chinese. Seems better designed than other apps and it has a great organised soundboard which makes it easier to learn and understand the different tones and pronunciation which makes the purchase well worth it to me.

I've been using the hacked version of this app for months and now decided to buy it. It is totally worth it. I'm glad to see it's being updated once a month. Hanping along with pleco are pretty much the only tools you need for looking up Chinese characters(hanping because of its pop up add-on, pleco because of its collection of dictionaries). Also wanted to say I love the UI it looks very on point. The default dictionary is really good, I also like the soundboard feature, very useful for beginners

Hanping is the best Chinese English dictionary on android, and it may be the most feature complete Chinese English dictionary app in existence. It's been essential to my studies for almost 2 years and it's so good that if you're on iPhone and are really serious about learning Chinese, it might be worth switching to android for. It's expensive, but it's a one time purchase and for how many features it has its well worth the money.

The screen reading "popup" feature is absolutely brilliant! I have the popup feature in the top row of dropdown/notification tray shortcut buttons because I use it multiple times a day. Hanping Popup has helped me to learn more Chinese characters than any other source! It's also just extremely useful to be able to read some characters on an app like taobao 淘宝 or meituan 美团 so that you know what you're buying.

Very useful because it uses Hanyu Pinyin which is a real boon for those of us who cannot read or write Chinese characters; and it is not like a normal dictionary which cannot identify sounds. Only problems are that about 15% of the English explanation are grammatically imperfect; many words lack sentence illustrations and the people manning the system do not fully understand the differences between nouns, verbs, adjectives and adverbs. But overall, a useful app for English educated people.

Cheaper than Pleco (which I also purchased quite some components for) and does the job very well as a simple dictionary. The extra (paid0 packages for the example sentences could he used for studying. But for $3 you get a really nice Dictionary with the right options for customization like tone colors and fonts etc.

The app is excellent and I love the Hanping Popup extension. I found a recent bug in sending flashcards to Ankidroid. The first time I automatically sent starred cards everything worked fine. Now when I send cards I get a message on the answer side of the card, "Back template has a problem:Found '{{Jyutping}}', but there is no field called 'Jyutping'. More information" I'm assuming a recent update by Hanping or Anki is the reason. I have a Pixel 3A.

I have this on my Android phone and would LOVE to put it in my iPad but unfortunately it's not available on iOS, which is literally my only complaint. I am a huge fan of Chinese dramas and sometimes the available English translations are just awful. Hanping lets me write out an entire sentence in Chinese characters then translate. It doesn't translate the whole sentence but words and phrases, letting me figure out what's really being said. Love it!!

I've been using this app since 2015. No regrets ^_^ . I love the ease of use and the fact that it includes the radical list with examples and writing options to find characters you don't recognize. Totally recommend!

Id give 5 stars but I have a problem with the widget app. Every time i press on the flashcard widget to open the extended info about a character it opens a new instance of the app instead of replacing the previous. It sometimes creates a very large number and uses lots of ram. Looking for a fix.

Love this app, the UI is really good. I also like the "tag" menu. I hope Hanping pro can add more sentence examples (especially for HSK 5 and 6 because although I purchased ABC CN-Eng add on they don't provide many example for higher HSK level). I wish hanping pro can also add HSK list based on the new version (HSK 1-9).

There are some characters that can't be searched via "writing" those Chinese characters. I have to use the google keyboard to write that character down and then paste it over. This would be a perfect app once this problem is solved.

Just purchase this RIGHT NOW if you are studying Chinese. Have no doubt. You will appreciate the fast progress and dedication attracted by this app. You want to continue studying Chinese, thanks to the design and cuteness of this App.

Been using this app for years. It's a good counterpart to Pleco. I like the HSK tags which make it easy to look up the characters and words for each HSK level. I'd give it 5 stars but when I try to report an incorrect entry my email bounces back as their server says I'm spam.

Well worth the money! I LOVE this app 5 stars but PLEASE! I love the layout and the way you can save words into your own tags. but pls make it easier to copy the pin yin. it's a little frustrating.

This is an extremely helpful. An easy to use Chinese Dictionary app. Being able to search words using pinyin is unique to this app.

Hands down the best Chinese Dictionary available. It's intuitive, and much less "clunky" than others and has a cool flashcard widget. 10/10 would recommend

Amazing dictionary, i love how it interacts with anki By the way, can i save a custom sentence and incorporate it with the dictionary? And i don't see any "search" feature inside tagging system, so how do i search sentence or words in my own tagging system... I made some own sentences to aid memorization and i want to be able to search the sentence in the future

Excellent dictionary to learn chinese. Easy interface, and i love the feature that i can write to find and practise my Chinese characters.

I've been in China studies for over 50 years. What a convience to have a dictionary in l can carry in my pocket wherever I go. It's not as complete as those I have on my bookshelf, but its size more than makes up for that.
