I love Hanping but i don't like this one. First, I bought it on my tablet and I can't install it on my phone (same Google account!). Second, it only finds the correct hanzi if the cursor is on a very precise position (which is difficult to find) and only 70% of times it is accurate which means it takes several tries. No vertical text... Does it only work with hi-res pictures? So far it is more practical and fast to open Hanping dict on a separate window or on my phone and draw the hanzi...
Marvelous apps translating singular words or common phrases by hovering the popup over those words. Although, there are situation where there is slight difficulty, for examples words at the left edge of the screen or white colored words, nevertheless I really love this apps; and it's worth every cents that I paid for. In conjunction with Han Ping Camera and Dictionary Pro apps, it's the BEST suite of translators on the market for Andriod based mobile phone.
I would like to give even 10 stars if I could. I use WeChat everyday as I currently live in Beijing. Wechat does translate Chinese characters, but does not provide pinyin (at least I didnt find this fubction. Hanping Chinese Popup is the solution I was always looking for. One thing: Is there a feature which could be added that this app always runs even without opening the app? For example in the morning when I open my phone the first time, I would love that this green white hover is directly on my homescreen 😊
I purchased this app on my phone and it isn't showing up as purchased on my tablet. It wants me to purchase the app again in order to use it, I would like help solving this issue, any advice? Edit: After just 30 minutes, the issue has resolved itself, I am now able to download this app on my tablet, thanks for the fast response!
Works pretty good. Sometimes detects the wrong character. Does not work when casting your phone to larger screen. Conflicts with Samsung Smartview. I bought the app with the intentions to cast to a big screen. Sorry 2 stars.
So-called "persistent" notification keeps disappearing. Often misreads "華" as "苹." Love the translation of "玻璃心" as "butthurt." 🤣 EDIT: Persistent notification disappeared again. 🤦🏼♂️ EDIT 2: Just over a week later, it disappeared once more. 🤦🏼♂️
Better than Pleco's OCR and 8/10 times works. Sometimes you have to tap the pop-up to re-engage it. Great if you are studying HSK as it instantly provides what level. Easy to follow voice pronunciation. Worth the purchase!
Please add function to translate vertical text (i have hanping camera which support vertical text, but this app is not convenient) And there's still some bugs with larger text and sometimes it shows another character which is not what i scan
Amazing app!!!! I bought all the paid apps of this company. I think this company is the best of the best in developing mobile dictionary. Seriously, they made me writing the first review ever on my app purchase. Wish it to have a Korean version as well.
Hi, I am big fan of Hanping I am using all the products of Hanping, this app has big issue it is not capturing big fonts from screen only small font it captures .. If you will improve it would be really appreciated...thanks
Only uses OCR, even though text fields could be read directly using an "accessability service", which would make it a lot easier to use.

A very handy utility that ties in seamlessly with the Hanping Cantonese and Mandarin dictionaries. As with pretty much all of the Hanping apps, it is an invaluable tool for anyone who is studying the written Chinese language(s).
My phone usually freezes when I'm done using the app for some reason but it is still worth the inconvenience.
Tablet compatibility would be much appreciated. This is what I was looking for, really helpful and useful.
the app doesn't show translation for full sentence as per YouTube video. Only one character at a time

The response to characters has become more erratic in time, with 清 being misread as 青 and 東 as 束. (The response has always been a little suspect - possibly due to the cardinal error made by Chinese - English dictionaries of starting with a simplified character set and adding on full form characters, which is like retrofitting that Formula 1 engine you've always wanted to your car.) However, the developer is exceptionally responsive and helpful - a model more should follow.
App is not working. Doesn't pick up anything. It was an amazing app once upon a time but ruined now. Absolutely useless. Contacted the developer, tried to do smth. but no result.
Amazingly accurate - but only for normal fonts. Some websites just use pretty outlandish fonts which is not very useful. Also, tried to use it for subtitles. It's pretty useful but would be better if it translated the entire sentence and you wouldn't have to hover over each character. 慢慢来！
