Some features (like transferring money between accounts) are not immediately obvious, but if you persist, this app is very easy to use. The system is periodically unavailable (not sure why), but it's still fairly dependable. Above all, the staff available for extended hours at Happy State Bank's customer service line are easy to reach and very helpful, so support is just a phone call away.
My app is constently messing up. I am always having uninstall and reinstall the app for it to work right.. It's getting old. I've been dealing with it since I've been with happy state and we are talking over 3 yrs now. I keep thinking this problem will get fixed and i wouldn't have the app unless i needed it. I hate having to uninstall it every 2 or 3 weeks to get it to work..
It's a good in app except for the unresolved issue of needing to constantly reauthenticate your device. The fingerprint or pin # access only ever works for a few days at the most before needing to completely reinstall the app.EVEN IF YOU TURN LOCATION ACCESSIBLY OFF. This is a big inconvenience if you are monitoring large amounts of transactions over an extended period of time.
New Update: Things have been working good for a while now. Super happy! Update: haven't been able to log in for months now. I try to sign into my account and it acts like I'm going to start a new login and tells me my number is in use. I'm SICK! if the app. Just let me use the app instead of the website! Old review: I love being able to check my balance online! It helps keep me on track!
Update: Anyone using this app on Android thats experiencing being logged off and having to reverify 95% of the time HERES THE FIX...Disable Location Access For This App. Its because theres a bug that detects ip address change (Wifi to Cell Data or 1 Wifi to another Wifi) and it forces you to sign in again. Developers, I hope you address this or disable the js that forces it because people switch between wifi and cell data every time they leave their house. Thank you cause otherwise its great.
I don't understand how this app has 4.4 stars. This is possibly one of the worst apps I have ever used. It hardly functions. Which is insane, because you'd think that a bank app is pretty straightforward. This thing is such garbage I feel like a hacker would be more easily able to access my bank account than I can using this app. When it isn't down for some unknown reason, it's constantly deleting my biometrics and making me jump through hoops to gain access. I hate this app.
Pretty frustrating. Biometric authentication keeps turning itself off, they'll ask to enroll your phone number again, right after they texted you to verify your identity. Have to reinstall each month or so. Once you get in, it's not bad.
I can't use my finger print access for very long on android phones. It allows it for a little while then requires authentication after a while. That is very frustrating!!! I had no issues on my iPhone but I have an android now. Please fix this!!!
Bank is good, app needs a LOT of work. It never remembers passwords/usernames/fingerprint so every time I have to put my info in and then I have to go through a security check EVERY TIME! So It takes me about 5 minutes to get into the app every single time. I switched to a new bank because I hate this app so much.
We switched from chase to Happy State and I am so glad we did. The people are awesome and the app is super easy to use. They are also very helpful and responsive when you have an issue. I highly highly recommend this bank.
Just moved to Amarillo... Loations everywhere, so convenient; and the buildings are beautiful to look at & to be in. Most importantly, the staff exceed customer service expectations. I work in customer service, I say they are the Best! Mobile app is simple to navigate, it's easy to find what you are looking for; balances are the first to pop-up, tool bar at the top and a (+) sign for financial transactions. Thank you Shelly Kearns at Soncy and the tellers in the other branches I've visited.
Not the best app but definitely not the worst either. Freezes up upon opening, constantly when I put in my codes I need after so long of not using a code from my husbands cell(which I know is just for security reasons) alot of the time it shows pending and you overdraft your acct at times based on the fact the app and the bank are not really one in the same in the aspect of being real time. Just this morning hooked up to wifi shouldnt have any problems but yet again I am because the apps taking
App crashes 75% of the time I use it. My only phone or most used network is deemed never used or not recognized Correct login credentials are often denied or app isn't working correctly. An update is needed or something on my end is very wrong. Either way I am frustrated with using this app. Thank you!
App keeps forcing me to re-enroll for the mobile service. Great user experience. Update: over a year later and the problem persists. Time to change banks. Besides, Happy hasn't been "happy" for a long time. 😅
It resets saved credentials and requires me to set up my profile again periodically. And then manually reenable my pin. Almost completely unusable if I'm in a hurry to check my account and this is required.
this app is reliable the camera and framing procedure for digital deposits is stable and allows you to compose carefully before taking the picture (in my Android phone) while dreading to use Capital One or Keybank digital deposit solutions, HSB is always a pleasure and hassle free. I would hope to see finger print ID Incorporated at some point, otherwise. a joy to use.
From the very beginning,, I have never had an issue with this app.. I love that Happy Bank marks up my deposits within 5 minutes, unlike our other Bank my husband prefers to use, although I will never understand why he does. I use the app for checking balances, transactions, mobile deposits, and paying most of my bills.. Flawless! I just wish there was a branch close to where I live, near the Claude Highway and S. Washington.
This app is wonderful! It can be so fun banking online with Happy State Bank. Every time I log in, I get to play a super fun game I call "Will this app work today?" It always keeps me on my toes, as I'm never sure if I'll get to see my account balance. Definitely helpful if you struggle with memory issues! I have to remember my different account balances, and hope I don't accidentally overspend! If you do, you'll get a fun letter informing you of your transgressions, and a happy fee. Good luck
This app is terrible. It was pretty good before the last update, now I can't even use it. I have to reauthenticate everytime I want to use it, and about 70% of the time it tells me my password or username are incorrect, when I know for a fact they are not. Now it won't even work. It says it is no longer compatible with the servers and needs to update, but there is no update available. HSB has really gone downhill the past couple of years. In more ways than one.
To many great features have been removed. I'm extremely annoyed I no longer have purchase notifications and fingerprint access any longer. I've addressed these concerns with the bank tellers and customer service and both give me a generic "I'm sorry it's not our choice." These are convenient features for the customer that should be offered by the bank it self. Not through a third party for the bank. All this technology and these simple things can't be kept?
Ever since the update I am forced to reenter my username and password EVERYTIME I open the app. I am using a LGV60 and running Android Version 11. I never had this issue until the update, and yes I have uninstalled and reinstalled the app several times. It is highly annoying please fix this bug!
Coming from a good credit union with a really good app, Happy's app leaves me less than satisfied. It's a bit buggy at times, and there's a lot functions I miss from the CU app that Happy's doesn't have. When it's working right, it will allow you to take care of the basic banking tasks.
The app works. Convenient and quick access to my accounts. Easy to transfer between them. I've never had any trouble with the bill pay. Simple and uncluttered interface throughout.
Within the last couple of months when I pull up the app on my android phone it just pulls up a blank white screen, no login. I've had to uninstall and reinstall the app multiple times just to be able to use it.
Changed my review from 5 to 3 stars because it seems to glitch more frequently. Won't remember passcode or that I've been able to fingerprint. Also seems to have been down an awful lot lately or unavailable for other reasons. Started good dissolving into bad
I loathe this app. Constant having to "authorize" myself again. Within the last 4 months I've had to uninstall this app and reinstall at least 10 times just so it would use my fingerprint even after re-authorizing multiple times.
Its crashes more times than expected from an app. I also cannot access my actual account number from the app which sometimes I need on the fly. Other than that it is a fairly easy app to use.
Useless for anything other than checking your balance - which may be incorrect due to unpredictable delays. Update: Switching to a different bank due to inability to due simple tasks via app (such as: disable cards, electronically deposit funds into another account holder's account, dispute transactions, see real-time account balance/activity, update address & phone number).
I gave this rating because this makes life for transferring money so much easier. I appreciate the time and effort put into this app. It also several other features I dont even use. Overall it is always up to date and I know what I have left at all times.
App consistently tells me I have to log in again (entering my credentials all over again). I have the fingerprint security feature enabled but it only works for a few days before I have to enter everything again, including a security code being texted, entering my phone number and resetting the fingerprint to work. This needs to be fixed now! Been going on way too long & I'm not the first to complain about it. I love my bank! Please fix the app and end my frustration!!
