Very disappointed with the shooting advertisements . Very inappropriate for certain ages, and I dont like the advertisements
I really enjoy this app. it is challenging , especially on the "hard" level. it has definitely sharpened my game.

If you are playing this online with real players, it can be fun. However, there are better AI's out there for solo playing. "Easy" and "Hard" mode have extreme AI algorithms, but medium difficulty is not much of a challenge ... for me, anyway.
Very enjoyable to play this electronic version of Backgammon.

Best Backgammon game ever. Love it.
Well the sound effects are spot on for a normal cloth or felt board. Nobody else compares. You can almost feel the roll of the dice. 5 stars for that. But in single play mode the AI (artificial interface)is simply horrible. It will roll itself 3 doubles in a row quite often, but never the same numbers. Then it will give me the same roll, say 4:3 3 times in a row. Plus in normal single player mode it will make the most brilliant moves right up until the end round when it's just a race to get the pieces off the board and it makes the stupidest moves that not even rookies make. For instance the AI side is full for the most part. It has 4 chips in the #2 spot and say 2 in the #6 and 2 in the #5. It will roll double twos but instead of emptying the # 2 spot to gain a big lead, it will move 2 pieces off the #6 spot 2 places and 2 pieces on the #5 spot two places. The AI here is absolutely horrid. At the end of one game alone I logged my last 10 rolls of the dice :5:4 5:1 5:1 5:3 5:2 5:1 5:3 5:3 5:1 5:2 just a horrid AI. Then I dug into the game filed and looked at the error logs, 132 errors in the numbers (dice rolls) But to be honest, I've tried about 6 other backgammon apps. The AI on those are horrible as well. But the sound and game play on those are unbelievably horrid whereas This app stands out. Bottom line :great graphics and sound quality. AI IS AS HORRIBLE AS THE REST for single player. There's no sense in trusting the AI in either single, two player or online play.
Another game well done by Hardwood! Backgammon is also a great value for the price. 3D visuals look great. A joy to play. Just do 1 thing - let me change my player name to what I want without an online account whole process!
Beautiful graphics, perfect controls, everything about this game is near perfect, except SUPPORT. Not sure if they care anymore. Still says only 1,000 downloads.
The AI got double 4 times as often as I did. Most games would be unwinnable because of the AI getting doubles every other roll yet I'd barely get doubles once. Fix your RNG engine it's a joke.
Watch out. There's no save game, even when playing the computer. The only way to complete a tournament is in one sitting. Not practical for a mobile app. Otherwise very good, but no save game is a deal breaker.

It's OK but it cheats, doubles always work to the benefit of the computer. If you leave a blot you probably will be hit, but stand a much smaller chance of hitting them. Weighted dice

I've tried dozens of backgammon games, some good, many not, and found Hardwood to be the best. The graphics are beautiful, the play is smooth, and the characters are fun, but that's not important to me. Fair, random dice is what makes a superior game. Hardwood has it. I can't speak for the online play because I just play with the AI. The only flaw I've seen is when the AI is baring off. Sometimes it makes mistakes which give me a victory I don't deserve. Better than the otherway, though.
