This app is horrible. The speakers rely on this app for grouping. Combine this with poor Bluetooth recognition (speakers, not app), and the fact that this app does not support streaming from most music services, and you get a decent sounding set of speakers that are severely limited in functionality. I genuinely spend more time fiddling with the app making the speakers link together than I do listening to the speakers, which is a shame.
Terrible app. It cannot complete a speaker connection to WiFi since it connects to the speaker and then complains that there is no internet. Of course there isn't! Your supposed to set up the damn speaker! Of course the app just crashes at that point so I now have a EUR 200.- paperweight lying around. Worthless app, do not use and get a proper sound system.
One of the worst apps for a speaker system. Requests for a firmware upgrade every time it starts up and then hangs up making the system unusable. When finally the speaker connected to the Wifi network, it only plays about 2 seconds of music before hanging up again, does not connect with Spotify, just locally stored music.. in summary it's garbage
Set up 3 rooms and assigned fixed IP addresses on my network. No problems connecting ever since. Seem to have lost the link via artist, album and genre to music on my phone. Can only access my music through songs tab but this may be a problem with my phone because tablet has retained full functionality.
I had a good laugh at how terrible this software is. Nothing works, the UX is terrible. Somebody should seriously find a new industry to work in, because application development appears to not be your cuppa tea. Riddled with bugs, impossible to configure multiple audio devices properly (got three Omni 10s, spent hours attempting to configuring them, eventually succeeded pairing two with my Google Home setup circumventing this app, but cannot get the third to work. I'm a bloody professional app developer). Good luck trying to get this to work without at least a PhD in Computer Science (my masters was insufficient apparently).
It took me months of trying to update the 2 omni 20 speakers and adapt. I had issues with the device not showing up or disappearing prior to having the latest update for the devices. My advice is be sure to have the latest update for your device and if you have the older non +(plus) device use 2.4ghz Wi-Fi, dual 2.4ghz and 5ghz did not work for me even if I assigned a unique name for each band. Now the 2 omni 20 are working perfectly in stereo mode and the adapt with a klipsch promedia 2.1
Very horrible experience ..given that it is a consumer good. App is not at Ll backward compatible. I have adapt and it has very a poor notification system. It says connection successful but does not show any connection. Does not have any tips or message to show what is it doing at the background.
Damn app is useless. I bought two Adapt's and neither would connect to my network. Contacted HK and they had me do a few things then had me send them back for replacement. The new devices have the same issue. Reading other reviews it seems this is a widespread issue that HK has no plans on fixing. Last HK purchase I'll ever make. Useless company!
What a joke...speaker is connected to Bluetooth yet this app can't find it in the whole house when its right infront of me. Such a shame. Great speakers but please learn from Sonos. Their app is gold. In this time of high tech you can't afford to be this out of touch.
Could not connect my Omni Bar+ to my WiFi at all. Solution? Do it through my friends iPhone. So this Chromecast built in speaker requires an iOS device to setup as it doesn't work on my android. That kind of bad is almost admirable. This is definitely a return, even though I got it at 50% off.
Dear Team, can you please include two things 1. Power off via app 2. sound equalizer in the app. As the lower bass is more prominent and it's not always treat to hear. These will make the omni 50 plus speaker a perfect speaker and this app as more useful. No updates to the app even after so many users are having issues, is it like Harman is not customer centric anymore...? That's very very poor customer service from a brand like HK.
only able to connect via ethernet cable. not connecting to home WiFi network. App keep on crashing. Also via ethernet not able to cast from Netflix and Amazon prime video and prime music. Please just sell it as Bluetooth speaker and not as a inbuilt Chromecast one. Please don't experiment on consumers.
I've never downloaded an app with such poor ratings. I used a 3.5 Jack and the speakers (Omni 10's) sound great. Everyone is right. The software? This APP? It's shameful. I've never seen something so perfectly not work at all. I think the joke is on us. I'm sure their is absolutely no code in this APP. Everyone is telling you it's absolutely useless. Why are you not embarrassed enough to fix it?
disappointing app for such an expensive system. app needs to be restarted if the music is temporary stopped with the pause button in the app. sometimes the system just doesn't respond. wish I done some more research before I bought 6 speakers
It worked quite well in the beginning. Now can't connect on wifi. No service support from a reputed brand. Terrible. As others mentioned, it's junk a set of omni 20+ and omni bar with subwoofer. At least can say there're outdated products and people won't waste their hard earned money on you products.
an app that gives you no control at all...low UX. would be great if user can direct where music files are in the device, switch to bluetooth connection via app, support spotify but that's almost impossible, support hi-res files like flac not just mp3.
Disappointed. It was quite difficult to configure the speaker. Then, the trouble were not ended since the application can not find the wifi (whereas the iphone was connected) or loose the wifi... Very unstable.
I bought the adapt product from harman kardon, since it is only controlled over qifi it became useless as the app cannot detect the device, tried iphone, ipad, my android phone even different wifi routers still the same thing, worst experience ever, I'm returning the device, never trust harman kardon, no online solution even
Not able to setup wifi on my HK omni 20+ even after tryibg multiple times. No success even after WPS mode. Worst app crashes anytime. waste of time. Is anyone from HK looking at customer issues as almost everyone in reviews is complaining about setup.
App is broken, my speakers are connected to wifi, i can see them in mt home network, but the app won't let them connect. Speakers sound great, but this is the worst app of any major speaker manufacturer
Firmware had been long since its updated and just mess up my Omni 20. Speakers end up producing distorted sounds. Making it worse, it's not compatible with Android version 8. Simply crappy
The WiFi router changed and it doesnt set the speaker up any more. Can the devs please do something? for the Omni 20+. Router doesnt have WPS. I'm reduced to using a lan cable for a wireless speaker. Also PLEASE MAKE SURE USAGE DATA ISNT ENABLED BY DEFAULT.. stop invading people's privacy.
was working well before until now when i moved and had to change wifi connections. app wont work now when trying to connect and keeps crashing. no updates. no support.
Workaround Below: This app is required to set up Omni+ products, some of which (the Adapt+) Harmon still sells. The IOS Controller App works, this Android version does not. It will not connect your speaker to your network. HARMON tech support told me this app was discontinued and to just use Bluetooth. Not good for a speaker I bought from them less than 3 years ago. For me, using the WPS buttons as described in the manual does work for initial WiFi Setup. This defective Android app then does allow you to complete setup. From then on Spotify/Chrome Casting work fine. Shame on Harman for not caring enough.
