Hash Droid
In this application, the available hash functions are : Adler-32, CRC-32, Haval-128, MD2, MD4, MD5, RIPEMD-128, RIPEMD-160, SHA-1, SHA-256, SHA-384, SHA-512, Tiger and Whirlpool.The calculated hash can be copied to the clipboard to be reused elsewhere.
The first tab enables to calculate the hash of a given string.The second tab helps you to compute the hash of a file located on the internal or external memory of your device. The size of the file and the last date modified are also displayed.The last feature helps you to compare the calculated hash with another given hash but more generally, you can compare any hashes by just pasting them.
A hash (also called checksum or digest) is a digital fingerprint, uniquely identifying a string or a file.Hash functions are often used in cryptography to generate strong passwords. They are also employed to check the integrity of files. Hash Droid is often used to check an Android ROM before flashing it.

Wow, I found ALTRUISM on the play store. I use this almost daily and it's never done anything less than what I asked of it. Bravo sir for making such a gem of an app apparently as a public service, no bs, no nonsense anti features, no ads, you don't even ask for coffee! AND its open source, clean, so rare! AFAIK its the only one of its kind with so many algorithms. A fine tool for education and security, use with an OCR app like Lens for very efficient hash verification across multiple machines.
"Built for an earlier version of Android" when install on 9.0. It is not listed on "open with" menu in Files. (Hint: "Hex file viewer" is). Also not listed on share menu.
As others mentioned, can't hash a file. "Cannot be read". Issues with read permissions maybe? Tried flipping storage permissions, still doesn't work. Shame, it looked promising, with many parameters.
Does exactly what it says on the tin without anything getting in the way. An overall refreshing experience by today's standards.
Works very well. Would also be nice to have an option to load a list of hashes from a file and have all the listed files hashed and compared.
great apps, plain view. i hope it has an option to hash all files in the folder (not just one file) vs Hash Calc does.
Hash Droid is easy to use and an excellent way to verify if downloaded files, especially large ones, have maintained integrity during the download process. You can calculate a file hash and easily compare it to the expected hash.
Simple and small, with no frills (great), but I couldn't read a file despite granting the permission.
A very intuitive checksums application once you get use to it. Best of all it's open source.
The fonts are very hard to read because the background color is white and the font color is like light gray

Does well and fast what it's ment to do. Unfortunately there's no SHA-3, no Blake, no Skein (nor any other SHA-3 finalists), and no MD6.
