Hawaiian, along with English, is an official language of the state of Hawaii. King Kamehameha III established the first Hawaiian-language constitution in 1839 and 1840.
For various reasons, including territorial legislation establishing English as the official language in schools, the number of native speakers of Hawaiian gradually decreased during the period from the 1830s to the 1950s. Hawaiian was essentially displaced by English on six of seven inhabited islands. In 2001, native speakers of Hawaiian amounted to under 0.1% of the statewide population. Linguists are worried about the fate of this and other endangered languages.[5][6]

Installing again this was great on my last phone last time the only hard thong was installing.. alot of time went into making it usable but once it was in it was in and awesome a few minor bugs but was worth it. By now shoul be better had the app 6 months ago.
You haveto use maori to get kahakos!! They used to have the kahako, but they took it off! Now i have to use the Māori keyboard for the kāhākō's ( yes iknow that word has no kahako). As for the okina, the apostrophy is good nouf! Good app though!
First of all it didn't even work for me. Also from the pics on the app store it said Hawai'i on the space bar when it should really be Ka'ahua. Finally the okina is just a comma.
A blatantly incorrect thing to do in ‘ōlelo Hawai‘i.
Should add more hawaiian words and add kahakous and okinas but either than that superb!
Finally the best Hawaiian 'ōlelo keyboard and spelling suggester for the android world. And at first i thought the kahāko can't be obtained like the previous user mentioned ... but I found out how to type it! Just press the vowels you want, then hold down the 'okina, slide to the dash, and you get it! Kahāko Ā ē ī ō ū... all done with Hawai'i plugin, not the Māori one. :)
I can't get it to appear in my keyboard choices - I want it set as default.
