With me being native Hawaiian , I'm wanting to learn the native tongue this didn't help at all I already know what the words mean. I just have a hard time pronouncing them and I thought this app would be able to help but it didn't. Didn't even teach you anything, just gives you a word and five other words to guess what it could be. I'm very disappointed I was hoping for something much better.
This is basically flash cards. I don't know how to pronounce the letters. I'm trying to learn to speak, not write, the language. I wish there was an audio portion to pronounce the words that appear. The app is still helpful and one of the best ones there is. I just don't see me being able to learn how to speak without hearing the words.
Cant pronounce the words, its just like flashcards basically, and if your starting how are you supposed to know what it means if your new to the language
This might be a good review tool for some, but as far as learning a language goes, much more than multiple choice flashcards are needed.
It's really good works EXTREMELY well with and without wifi. I just wish it had Audio then it would be PERFECT.
It's a very good app but it's only extremely helpful if you already know the Hawaiian language. But if your trying to learn and you have no experience with Hawaiian it can be very difficult. Great app but if it could pronounce the words it would totally be 5 stars. Great App👍
I always get excited with anything that has to do with Hawaii and I really enjoy this app... Didn't realise how much of the language I already knew till I got this... Yay!
If you need somebody to pronounce these words, I can. I am not a native speaker, but I lived in hawaii, and can pronounce hawaiian words. Let me know.
Its really helpful but all I'm able to do is read and understand. I can't speak it since the app doesn't help with pronunciation. Please make that possible in the next update.

All you need to know is how to pronounce the vowels and you'll be able to pronounce any word...there actually a you tube video by an online hawaiian instructor that teaches you the alphabet and how to pronounce the vowels...
Its great!I only wish it could verbaly pronounce it as well but other then that,no complaints here;)

The moment I saw that kama'aina was translated into 'island native' is when i realized that it needed work.
I am not from Hawaii but my aunt is and that's where I learned to surf. And she doesn't know how to speak Hawaiian either. So... It's fun to learn. Thank you!

Have had this app for about 3 years and am a 3rd year 'Olelo Hawai'i haumana at UH West O'ahu... and sorely lack vocabulary definition and conotation skills... at download, "HI tutor" was supposed to have a vocab of 800 words... My haole brain knew it would be easy, only 800 words... my na'au sat quietly knowing I would recognize my ARROGANCE about my excellent skill with grammar and structure... eventually... Played w/HI tutor for 3 years... still do not know all 800 words...
