HCSB Digital Text Edition

App was fine for awhile , then it stayed on Genesis 1 and wouldn't let me go anywhere else so I just uninstalled. Now it want let me send this text , goodbye with or without text

This app is completely non-functioning for me. When it opens, it wants me to choose from my bookshelf or some such. Clicking on my bookshelf crashes the app. Pressing menu button on that page brings up nothing. Pressing back takes me to a blank white page. Pressing in the background simply reveals text BibleReader 4. Pressing menu reveals menu with back and forward button that reveal new empty white pages. The search function does the same. Pressing bookmark crashes the app.

UPDATE: old problem fixed but have uninstalled and reinstalled due to all text fonts now displaying as outlines, not solid text. Reported problem, no answer. Staying uninstalled. Old review: Two installs ago I used the app's search tool. It then would not let me leave that page. Worse, it always went back to the search results every time I restarted it. Uninstalled the app twice now but with each reinstall, it's the same. Could be absolutely the best, if it were fixed. Don't bother with it until they do.

HCSB is highly recommend by well known pastors like Charles Stanley etc. This app makes it hard to read. Font is way to light and goes off the page, if your going to provide a free ver please make it usable this is Gods Holy word.

The app is tough to navigate and it has a terribly difficult-to-read font. I downloaded this thinking it would be handy to find a verse when I'm on the go, but finding a passage was harder than necessary, and then I could hardly read the text. Uninstalling.

Font supplied with app renders it unreadable and useless. App menus hard to navigate and seemingly still designed for older Windows machine. Not an Android mobile handset.

Some update caused it to have a sort of outlined font now. It's impossible to fix and impossible to read. I have uninstalled and reinstalled 5 times. I love this app so much, HCSB is my favorite and I can't find another good one. Please fix this

I have installed and uninstalled and reinstalled this app 3 or 4 times. The font has become unreadable with outlined white text. This could be such a great app if the font selection actually worked. It is so frustrating!

Hate is not the description. Failure to function reliably causing me to be forced to use another version while the class is reading from printed HCS version.

The menu key no longer works the way it used to. I realy liked this on the old operating system. I hope they can fix it.

Cannot bear the font. As mentioned by others, the letters are just outlines, and it is hard on the eyes. I can't seem to fix this through the options menu. Otherwise I would give it a better rating, but I can't bear reading the font unfortunately.

Could not get font to be readable. Letters show up as hollow outlines of letters. Makes it hard to read. No adjustments made any difference. Have hard copy but want e-version on tablet. Font still not fixed. It's unreadable!

Default font color is nearly impossible to read. After fixing the color, it was too zoomed out to read anything at all and no way to go back to previous view format. :(

Font is bad and no way to search the bible- it just starts you in genesis- good luck spending all day scrolling to the book of John when sharing the gospel

Cannot use notes or bookmarks when i try screen flashes solid white and app logo. Fix and i will change my rating. I love this translation and look forward to reading it

Installed on Note 2 in 2012 and worked great. After an android update the font became difficult to read. Now updated to Note 4 and font unusable. Too bad, I hope they update the version soon it was my favorite implementation

The font is just the outline of the letters, making this very difficult to read. This is probably a very ready fix. I'm not sure why the publisher is allowing it's reputation to be tarnished by a little big.

Nearly unreadable. Clunky interface too... Such a pity the HCSB is one of the best too.

There is no way to easily navigate through books of the Bible and the font size and type cannot be changed, which makes this app virtually useless.

Text is not adjustable for size and reading, and there is no menu that I could find to navigate to other verses other than scrolling and waiting forever for it to get to a passage I want to read

I can't read the font, this problem is two years old and no-one seems interested in fixing it.

App starts on Genesis 1:1 but no way to jump to other books or verses.

The only way to navigate is to start in gen and scroll down until you reach the book and verse you want. Takes way too long. I even reinstalled it. There is no menu page for ease of navigation. Please fix.

The text is impossible to read because for some reason it is only in outline.

God bless the team. The new English standard Bible is irritating me when I click on reference.

I really like how the app is more-or-less just a very nice copy of the HCSB. Scrolling animaiton and responsiveness could be better, though.

Great no-frills app of the HCSB. Terrible font display and selection. C'mon Thom Rainer. We expect better from Lifeway.

There are no links to individual books in this app. So to get to Matthew, for example, you have to scroll through the entire Old Testament first.

This does not meet LifeWay's quality standard. They need to do something about it.
