Why HDR------------

Real life scenes often have a wide range of light intensity, which cannot be captured by a camera. In a photo of such a scene the bright areas look washed out and everything in shadows is pictured as a black spot with no details. The HDR technique allows you to capture details in bright and dark areas and have them merged in a single photo.

HDR photography is widely adopted by professional photographers. Wouldn't it be nice to have an HDR in mobile phones?

The problem is that HDR requires taking several differently exposed images in series, which must be precisely aligned and then fused. In order to be usable for real life scenes, the HDR feature should include moving object detection and hand shake compensation to avoid or minimize the ghosting in the final image. That requires a lot of computational resources and makes a challenge even for professional desktop HDR software.

Almalence has brought its expertise in professional HDR software to mobile phones. Our HDR fusion algorithms compensate hand shaking and detect moving objects in the scene, suppressing ghosting artifacts. At the same time, the algorithms are quick enough to provide comfortable processing time on mobile devices.

This was the best HDR camera app. The images are amazing! However the last update make it impossible to save images. Developer is unavailable. It's a shame!

Used to be great, but is now broken. It shifts the picture horizontally and doesn't photograph what's in the viewfinder!

Used to be great, now not so much. It won't even save, it keeps crashing.

Had the free version on my old phone and it was really good so I thought I'd buy it for this phone. Neither this or the free version work for my phone since lollipop update. It says decoding for less than a second then crashes and closes. Would really like to be able to use this app as it used to be so good. (HTC One M8)

Both free and paid version stopped working when I bought the paid version. App crashes. Pictures were beautiful when it worked. No longer works. Not sure if it's an HTC m8 problem or something else. One star as the dev hasn't attempted to address the crashes after months of issues.

Gives an extra 1 or so stop of dynamic range over the stock camera app. Focuses better than the stock app too. There is an option to save the individual bracketed frames along with the HDR composite. But the option that makes all the difference, especially in low light, is the option to apply no noise reduction in camera. The problem is that the LG's bundled camera app's noise reduction is way too aggressive, smearing any fine detail in the picture into a blur. This app allows saving a noisy, but detailed image for processing later in your favorite photo editing program (i.e. Adobe Lightroom). Overall, a great app and so far the only one that actually works as advertised on my phone.

If I could give this app 10 stars, I would. Amazing job, Dev. Once you adjust the settings to your phone, the pics are amazing. Stylo 3 Plus here. The contrast is out of this world. I think my wife is sick of hearing me talk about it, lol. Only took 30 minutes to realize I needed the paid version. I would have paid more.

Takes 3 shots to Make 1 pic which is subpar....I hadn't used this app for a while (have paid app) now I remember why I removed app from my devices. Pics are at time blurred, it takes 3 shots to make 1 pic and the pic it does make is subpar. There are better apps out there plus my stock cameras do a better job with their HDR or high resolution setting and they only need 1 shot per pic. Removed app AGAIN. I don't recommend it. Nothing has changed in app over at least 3 yes since I first bought it...

This formerly good camera is now broken on Lollipop. It crashes after taking the first picture, thus is unusable. I hope it get fixed since I liked it before. However, I'd like if I could use the volume up/down keys to trip the shutter. OK, now it's been fixed for Lollipop and is as good as it used to be, not perfect but quite good and producing good photos. I like it much more than the HDR+ mode incorporated into Google Camera.

This is a great app, but DO NOT BOTHER PAYING FOR IT. Reason: The free version will do pretty much anything you want and bug you with ads, the paid version doesn't really add that much AND WILL STILL SLAM YOU WITH ADS. You're honestly better off just using the free version, since the author doesn't seem to realise that getting rid of the ads is what people actually pay him for. The app is really, really good, better even than Google Camera at HDR, but the never-ending aggressive begging by the author makes me hate using it.

Free one sounded terrible so didn't install. Tried the paid for version as I couldn't find a better HDR camera app. Works pretty well! Interface ok but need to be quick to hit edit button to change final image. Still get ads..

Bought this app to find after every photo taken I get a full screen advert for their 'A better camera' app which I have to skip each time. These days a Dev must be crazy to place app-stopping adds in a paid app. This is outrageous. I've spent hundreds on paid apps over years to not see adds. This is only 2nd time I've left a review on Google play after about a thousand app installs which speaks volumes. Various other faults, E.g post-snap display of photo often looks out of focus where as the saved image is fine, so u have to leave app to be sure. Sort this & I will change review. I am reasonable. (Nexus 7 2013 Lollipop) P. S Other reviews I've read from this Dev lead me to believe that I will not get a helpful response but it's the principle. Hint: Great support can make a company O.o Just so u know...

Had this app installed on my Galaxy S2 and it never crashed or failed to produce awesome images. I can hardly wait to see what it can do on my new S4. UPDATE 06-15-2018: Still making use of this stellar app on my LG V30. And believe it or not, it works even better.

I love this app on every other phone I've had. It was my go to camera app when I went on vacations. It used to take great colorful pictures. Now it just says it cannot adjust the contrast and shuts the app down. Please fix this to work with Nexus 6P.

Useless on my cubit, only saved one shot after many attempts, will uninstall, so out of pocket.

I have the paid version which used to work beautifully on my LG G5. Not anymore since the upgrade to Nougat. The auto focus is dysfuntional and pictures are severely out of focus. A factory reset did not fix the problem. The developers must be asleep at the wheel.
