HeadTracker

Allows you to use your phone to track your head movement in games through FaceTrackNoIR (windows) and opentrack (OSX and linux). Extremely accurate, no filter needed. Connects to your PC via wi-fi or usb. Usage instructions can be found in the app.

It took quite awhile to figure out which movements had to be reassigned to yaw, roll, pitch, which ones had to be inverted , etc. There's also a bug that forces you restart the app every time you change a setting on it or the PC application. - But that being said, once it was all set up, it worked great!

Works very well. If you have trouble, try turning HeadTracker on in the right position (for me it's face down with the camera to my left, because that's how the phone will be when I use HT). Some phones just have bad sensors though. My old HTC One M7's sensors behave strangely since a not-so-intelligent friend of mine decided to put a powerful magnet in my pocket. The only issue I have is that whenever I press "stop", it won't work again until I completely close the app and start it again (using LG G4). Bluetooth would be really nice. It might be better than wifi when you're far from the router or if it's under load. EDIT: I just found out I can achieve the same results with tethering.

Transmission is okay but the data is completely random, even with the highest deadzone available. The gyroscope in my device, albeit probably low quality, works fine on a gyroscope test app so I don't think it's the issue there. Perhaps something else not in my control. Sadly, 1 star as I can't get it to do anything :/

~EDIT:~ After a few days of working with the author of HeadTracker, Mr Lawrence Simmons himself, We got my HeadTracker app transmitting properly. Mr Simmons seems interested in making updates considering the hardships provided and the app close-downs&restarts needed after every change made. (this is necessary). Considering the effort he put into helping, I'll give ★★★'s ------------ At first, No matter which port, internal ip, external ip, port forwarding, or Windows firewall I edited, OpenTrack got no info from HeadTracker. I own my router (Ethernet and Wireless), my desktop (Win7-64Ult), and my nexus7-2013LTE (Marshmallow). And I'm familiar with the details of working with them. I'd done all sorts of setting tweeks on OpenTrack, and tried both internal and external ip addresses and ports. I've opened windows firewall and my routers port forwarding. NOTHING worked, OpenTrack would not detect HeadTracker. However, Mr Simmons showed me that you MUST close and restart both applications completely after ANY changes you make in either of them or the settings do not take any effect. This is Essential.

Awesome. Simple setup works almost out of the box😀. Throw the phone on you head, put a hat over the phone to keep it in place! Enjoy any game or flight Sim with looking around. Thanks for your work.

If you read your smart phone book youl see these devices should not be placed on your head for large amouts of time for gaming porposes it is a tool a communication device and can be harmful to your health in my opinion its cell phone concept is flawed

The app works as advertised. I am no genius when it comes to headtracking software but I was able to decipher the instructions well and I used Opentrack. Currently still messing with the mapping settings but it does work. I use it with OMSI 2

Works fine, only thing it needs to improve is magnetometer input if the phone has it.

Facetrack noir doesn't work as it has no exe, and opentrack has no installer.

I was able to fine-tune it in Facetracknoir, using old Nexus 4. Works even better with Opentrack where you can add X, Y, Z motion along with rotation.

great app but it really needs the ability to stop and transmit from the pc so you can reduce the drift. but id say its a must have!

Not working on Oneplus 3. Have checked with Wireshark and the app is not even sending any packets.
