Headway: Books' Key Ideas

I used the week trial for one day and didn't like it. The summaries cut the books so short it's like reading someone's article review on a book. After the second day I tried to cancel. No possibility to cancel in the app. (Either poor experience, or worse, this is done on purpose. I heavily fear the second is the reason) I then send an email to request cancellation to the support email. No reply (fury) Low a behold after 1 week they take the right to bill me an entire years worth. Still stuck

Decent enough app. Large book selection and okay summaries. Issues: - Some audios are buggy. For example, 5am club has two narrators and the audio doesn't match the text. - Most summaries are rather low-level and generic. You may want to lower your expectations on being truly motivated. - Can't play audio in the background. If you try to leave the book page (to search for example), audio will stop. When you come back, the audio restarts at the beginning instead of picking up where you left off.

I think its a great app, with a good selection. The challenges are fun and suited for the person. The length of the books are easily managable to sqeeuze in for busy days too! If i could suggest anything to make it better, maybe actually charging the weekly price shown instead of everything up front as an option and maybe more of a color selection for highlighting or reminders you want to save. 🙂

Great app, purchase is questionable. So basically they phrase it in a way where they say they will charge you x amount per week with a total of xx a year, and I was like fine, I can take this week to week and when I no longer have time for it due to studies or what not, I can cancel... Yea no, they deduct the full year once. Done. So be wary of that, it feels like they had options and I agreed to said option and then in reality it was not an option 🙁

Hi, I recently paid the annual subscription and I love the app to broaden my knowledge in English, but I have an issue with section "repetition", actually It only separates insights of each book and not words. I have many cards from different books and it's tedious to find and remember the words of each book. So I will very joyful If you implement new options to look at one glance many cards of each book.

I just activated today. And I've already had two books summarized. So far there's a lot I like about this app I do wish there were more voice options, but it's not a deal breaker. There are multiple subscription options but it seems like only one offers the free trial and unfortunately it's not the one that offers a monthly payment. I'm still looking into all the details. Great book options!

DO NOT PURCHASE THIS APP. Aweful experience. I was excited about the idea of listening to summaries of books but they are dry and monotone. I tried several in the first week and was not impressed. Then, after 7 days I was charged a full year subscription, although it was advertised as just a few dollars per week. I would not have minded being charged for a week or a month since a didn't cancel in time, but this is a complete rip off. DO NOT PURCHASE THIS APP.

So far so good. Love the summaries and the pathway. And have anybody realized how beautiful the app is? I have a suggestion though, perhaps at the end, there can be some sort of a cheat sheet summary for the book along with a quiz where your score would be shown and rank along other people who took the quiz to encourage reading and competition.

Absolutely fantastic if you love learning and improving yourself but, dont have time to read every book you want. I forgot to end my subscription before the end of my free trial and was a bit down about the $80ish I was auto charged for the year subscription. I decided to dive in and now this is my absolute favorite app. All of the insights are quickly digestible and allows one to easily acess the main points of many books. Not great for fiction. Useful for finding books to read in full.

They showed a different e-mail address in the app than the one I subscribed with, so that it didn't appear on my subscriptions there... Now paying for a whole extra year of this app. It's not bad, but it's quite far from being good. Content exhausts quickly, readers' voices are extremely monotonous, and the main takeaways of books are often not summarized well.

Definitely would recommend to a friend especially when they're learning English. I found it very useful catching only very important moments of the nonfiction books. Mostly I don't have time to read the whole book or frustrated until I get to the point that I need in the particular moment. Also I liked cards with translation and repetition it helps me building my vocabulary

I used to love reading long ago but found myself frustrated after not finding the time to complete the entire book, often finding myself with more than one that has my interest but no time to complete. I am loving that in using Headway it gives me the opportunity to get the heart of the book (in summary), and the option of purchasing the entire book should I want to delve deeper into the full subject matter & book. Less time TV/Social Media time wasted, more reading/learning something new!

I requested a refund an hour after purchasing because I was not satisfied with the service, but it seems they prefer to get $ instead of better customer experience. Here's why I don't like it: 1. Monotonous narration 2. There's no pause between chapters. Like a robot is narrating. 3. Not so good summarisation compared to other alternatives 4. Not so much options in Settings/Not customisable 5. Terrible UI/UX when playing outside of app

Scam. Expensive and too hard to cancel. I decided not long after subscribing this app was not for me so cancelled well before the end of the billing period. Then, weeks later, another payment was debited from my account. I second guessed myself and went back to my account to check it and I had definitely cancelled. Currently chasing them for a refund for the 3 months subscription I had cancelled because I did not want it and don't use it. Feeling ripped off 😒

Hesdway has provided me "the way" I was trying to find to deal with my struggle in managing time and maintaining focus on reading books. I wish I had started using it earlier. The collection of books, the flow and content organization all done logically, what a reader needs for quick reading or listening. By automatically making cards, in highlights and translate, helps to "Remember" and "Remind" for future references. A very useful and well designed app. I'm lovin it!

ABSOLUTELY TERRIBLE! Do not even try to get the app. I downloaded it and just like other apps I have tried, it asked me for my billing info to get the free trial with the possibility to cancel within the trial period. Suddenly, I get an email saying that it charged me for the whole year without the possibility to a refund. THIS IS A SCAM! And I see that other reviews are mentioning the same issue. This is terrible. Stealing money, basically. I even thought, "ok, let's give this app a chance at least" but the content is just far from good, it's very limited. I would not recommend this app at all. DO NOT DOWNLOAD!

First day since subscribed. Good app for now. I dont see if I can read the whole book instead of just a summary that's why I put a 2 star and not a 5, or is there the full books? Also they are very misleading and not honest when they say get a 7 day free trial but they charge you for the full yr when you subscribe. I love reading and this app is motivating but that's not how you build trust and long term subscribers for long term.

Execellent UI, feels very immersive. Easy reading as well. Contains most popular titles. The summaries are pretty decent as well. Not too short and not too long. Voice over can be better but i prefer reading. The best feature is grouping of books according to category.

This app has become one of my favourite. It constantly reminds me to read or take up a challenge and also assist by reading for me whilst I also read on. The books available on this app are incredibly amazing. I would highly recommend this app for anyone who will like to improve their skills in reading and becoming a better person.

For some reason, I'm getting an error message, no matter what subscription I choose. I would love to use this app! Update: I just received a response back, as everyone can see. I've already reached out to you, Headway Support, and you said it was a Google Play issue. Still having issues.

Forgot I signed up to this a year ago, I was reminded by the 84 dollar charge they hit me with today. I have no plans on using this again, so there's money well spent. No options for refund either. Had I known I was still subscribed I would have canceled a long time ago. The audio books are garbage, usually read by computer voices. Don't waste your time on this.

If you are interested in obtaining more knowledge to make yourself into a better person, this is the app. I am a very busy highschool student but I have been read the free books they release daily. Not only am I proud that I'm able to add reading into my daily schedule, but I am also happy about the short summaries of the book. Getting back into reading was only possible through Headway because I feel I accomplished more finishing a summary than book. Although read your favorite book you find!

Really good App that summurize a lot of insight & information about each book. But the user profile need some changes as it won't show me when my subscription ends or if its set for auto renew . These are must have feature for any active subscription and kind of misleading as well.

I'll love to read a lot of books, but I don't have as much time, so headway has really helped to solve this problem by putting great books in easy summarised format for reading or listening such that you can breeze through lots of books in few weeks and still obtain same value and information as you would when you read the entire hard cover... Thanks headway for making this fantastic app.

To start they give you the option to do a 7 days trial with a yearly subscription. I changed it to a monthly subscription like most of you guys will do and apparently the monthly subscription does not include in the 7 days trial. they charged me for the first month immediately I've sent them a message to get a refund. I'm working hard for my money and I'm thinking carefully before making any purchases. This is a greedy company They wouldn't give a refund. They Lost me, my friends And family.

I was de eived by the app. It cost me the full annual premium. I thought I would get a weekly subscription since they show a weekly price. Its really expensive to pay once off. I would have stayed subscribed but this is infuriating I feel like someone stole my money. The app is actualy nice but will not recomend this paying an anual premium for something that you didnt expect make it feel like you have been scammed
