The app has Japanese and English on the userface. I don't know what it says but I click it to get into my results. This needs to be fixed. A language option in the settings menu. Also with the $1000 spent on the scale you should get rid of the ads please.
UX/UI ugly and settings very limited. Not compatible with other competitor devices (or very limited support). And, advertisements in the app for a bought product. What kinda of business model?! A pity because the product (not the app), is quite fine.
As of February 8th. I still cannot log into the app. The app team wrote me and gave me some suggestions but still not working. I even created a new account, that also did not work. I removed the app and cleared the cache and data.... Still nothing. I don't know what change but I cannot use my expensive scale and I am not happy. They said they were having server issues. It seems like the app is not authenticating to the user database.
Both the app and scale are highly disappointing. Trying to get the two to sync together is a painful experience. A lot of money spent for a lot of frustration and very little usability. The user experience is very poor.
stupid app. I hv tried connecting the device this morning for over 45 min and the same message reads: "device found. connecting". still cant connected. my blue tooth is on. my device has almost new battery. i plucked out the battery and put it back again to the device over 15 times. i even restarted this tanita app. but the sane damn message above appeared. this failure to connection in fact happened several times since i installed the app in early sep
Pretty basic, sync with Google Fit or Samsung Health missing. Update from March 2021 review: readings are consistently around 2% off on BF% compared to commercial BIA scanners (Evolt, I'm Inbody etc). Also still waiting on the promised Google Fit integration, wouldn't have bought this machine if the Google Fit integration was never going to happen.
Emailed to ask and fix log in issues (no response). Somehow when it got updated I cant enter the app automatically anymore. And app also keeps saying my email address is incorrect but when signed into web version it works. Y'all need to step up and fix this.
It is a poor app, the App's interface is very poor & overall app has a very poor built quality not at all expected from a company like Tanita. As an example, to find & compare your past readings is so cumbersome and non intuitive. Get inspired from Omron app which is so much better and highly rated, and rebuild your app ASAP. A lot of text is in Japanese and not understandable despite English being my default language?? Why do i see adds?? Future without a good app is very bleak so act urgently
Scale is good, app is very buggy. I set to lbs on the scale, the app is stuck on KG, meaning if I am 180lbs the says 180kg which is stupid. Then it says your super fat with a BMI of 60. After all the years of complaints from user Tanita cannot be bothered to fix a simple app. The Google ads is totally unacceptable.
the app is not stable when working with low energy bluetooth. always couldn't be connected. ios version works well. also i already bought the product (the scale), why there are still annoying ads???
App is good but some texts are displayed in Japanese. To understand what is on my phone screen, I have to take a screenshot and use Google translate to find out the meaning. Hope the app can match the phone system language better.
Pessim application, buy your scale 545 and have the worst possible application. It does not connect, it does not synchronize, it has errors everywhere. Garbage, I have a scale that cost me 500 dollars and its app is not useful. BAD BAD BAD BAD ...
Its too difficult to connect
Every few months my saved data gets lost having to completely start over. All constant issues are never fixed. I would recommened a different brand and app.
The app worked well until I upgraded to the Pixel 5a. Now it won't connect. It says it finds the scale when I reset, but says there is an error and "times out".
App is good. But it has issue in displaying 'body fat' For example: 1st measurement: weight=65 & body fat=21.2%. 2nd measurementz: weight=64 % body fat= 21.4% So body fat in 2nd measurement is less than 1st one. But the 'see graph' in the app displays that body fat in 2nd measurement is greater than 1st one. Ur app doesn't calculate body fat and display it. It just compare between the 2 percentages. So pls fix it asap
Works for a little bit. But will suddenly lose connection. After losing initial connection, device will no longer pair.
I have been happy for the last year but now it's taking ten minutes each morning to connect which is frustrating. I can't find any guidance online either.
Tanita RD-545. Issue when using pounds (lb). Body fat stuck at 5% when using lb due to registration issue using app as app profile only allows height in cm (no ft-in option) while the scale uses ft-in for height when using lb as a unit. Per userguide, when using lb, height is in ft-in automatically and in cm when using kg. Since app profile only allows height in cm we're stuck in using kg otherwise it will not register/sync properly (will asks to override BCM data) and BF% stays at 5%
The last update offers so awaited GUI improvements. Now the menu items are in Japanese and in English. SIMULTANEOUSLY🙄
App registration won't accept my perfectly valid email address. I rate it 1 star as it's useless because of this.

The tanita healthcare app is better then this version. Not sure why this one is recommended in the manual.

Spent a bunch of money on this product but app seems to be a dog. Won't log in.
The format/layout is okay however it would be better if it could link to my fitbit or myzone belt to record steps/calories burnt. There are also advertisements at the bottom of the page. Quite a few things in Japanese which is ditracting from the app which could be solved by making multiple language apps.
