It does exactly what it says, simple! Makes grocery shopping simple by keeping your grocery list for you and marking off as you go. About 95% of the recipes have nutritional facts. Finally yes this app does vegan, vegetarian, ketogenic, paleolithic and downright sinful lite and regular desserts. Also the app has snacks , lunch items And holiday cooking ideas (including Halloween)! I haven't even used my own recipe book lately. Worth it. Finally, You can share everything...including lists.
Please let the app switch to landscape mode. Also need to add an easier way to get to you own inputted recipes. I would suggest an option in the main menu. I've been using the website for years, and other than the number of annoying adds, have been happy. This app should tie into spark people better too.
Useless, only good for processed foods. I tried creating a simple recipe using fresh ingredients and whenever I did a search, the only items that came up were processed foods or none at all. For instance, when I finally found chicken tenderloins it gave me a fixed amount and I wanted to have the option to enter a certain weight amount. it wouldn't let me. What kind of app is this? this app is not for home Cooks. I'm uninstalling.
entering in recipes is cumbersome. Please make an import option from the site by giving url or document to auto fill. Also, the ingredients entered in by users has wrong nutrient info. Consider adding an option for the user to edit the recipe info for personal use only when they mark it a favorite. These changes would make this app amazing. Right now I find it easier to stick to my Google sheet.
The app is okay. It works fairly well to put in your own recipes and calculate nutritional info. The browse function is very limited, though. It is missing the ability to apply multiple filters (e.g. gluten free and breakfast). I would use it more if the browse function was more user friendly.
I use Spark Healthy Recipes to calculate nutrition values on my own recipes, and to help me modify recipes to better fit my healthy diet plan (my own recipes and from others). It helped me to lose 55 pounds and keep it off for over a year now. For inspiration, I browse the app's recipes and can save the best to my collection. Wish more of my ingreduents were in the database (or that I could add them easily like I do in the Spark People fitness and food tracker premium app), but otherwise, it's just what I needed.
Better than doing a web search for recipes. I am FH and cannot eat refined sugar, refined flour, saturated fats and egg yolks. Trying to do a web search with these variables is mostly useless, especially for desserts. I have an intolerance to bananas and most sugar-free desserts include bananas for some unknown reason. Your filtering is not flawless, but more useful than the web. Great for now, but consider multi- condition filters down the road.
Extremely difficult to find even simple bacon! There are a lot "junk" food, but not real food! Moreover, cannot create and save a recipe as private, it has to go into the world!
Love how I am able to immediately see the calories before even clicking on the recipe. the app is very well organized and has an abundance of awesome recipes!!
While I can view the recipes in the app, I cannot link to my sparkpeople account. Continually says username and password are incorrect. Funny that I'm actually logged into the sparkpeople app, but can't log into this one.
Love this app! I can find recipes easily with the ratios that I need. So far all the recipes I've tried have been excellent.

Excellent app! Allows you to put in recipes along with easy to indeph recipes to follow. You can pick from time to prepare, cuisine type, or calories required.
I love that I can type in an ingredient and a bunch of recipes pop up. I also like the vegan and vegetarian options.
Very limited functions. Couldn't edit or delete recipes. Wasted space on my phone. The website is much better.
won't let me sign in or create a sign in. says my email is already taken. ok tried password help says login name email doesn't exist. tried again same thing. tried Facebook got error codes. pretty much useless.
Have to enter ingredients 1 at a time. There are better nutrition calculators that let you paste all ingredients at one time.
Terrible. I cannot log on to the app. I noticed others are having issues as well. Time to uninstall!
Would be better if there were more Ketogenic recipes. But there are some great ones in this easy to use app.
Great app to get new recipe ideas. I like reading the reviews and having caloric information as well.
Lots of good recipes with different cooking options to sort and search.
I would give 5 stars but several times it did not save my recipe and I had to re-enter it from a desktop.
Not looking for healthy recipes at 80 years old I have used almost every recipe in my books but I've not been looking for recipes that were healthy LOL
There are a lot of recipes in many categories. This app gives me. many ideas for meals.
Great overall. But one issue is that when making your own recipes, there's no search function to easily find your favorites from the corresponding calorie counting app. They're not listed in alphabetical order, so it takes lots of scrolling to find each ingredient. Another issue is that there's no option to organize your recipes, and they're also not listed in alphabetical order. And if you save other people's recipes, they get mixed in with your own, so it's hard to distinguish between the two.
