Hands Down Best microphone booster I've experienced. Definitely the loudest. Voice filter is fantastic and helpful in reducing unwanted frequencies. Can't say enough good things. About the delay of sound through the app, I don't think app developers can fix that, it's the way Android OS processes the audio. I could be wrong, I'm not a programmer nor an app developer.
well it's an inconvenience for sure to have to keep the app open for it to work properly. my screen timeout is every 10 seconds(non activity) so if you guys can improve that as well as usage without headphones that would be awesome. I'm hearing impaired, nearly deaf. Those are my only two gripes if you will, it was nice hearing normally again. the sound everything makes, I don't wear hearing aids and I guess I kind of forgot what the world sounded like without being sounding 10 miles away
Works ok enough in emergencies, but not worth the purchase. I'm trying out various hearing boost apps, this one outputs to bluetooth correctly. However, there are things that need more work: - There is a noticeable audio delay between the input and output. There is no delay for the audio output with other apps (like youtube) but there's about a 500ms (blatantly subjective approximation) delay for processing the microphone input. This is a little unnerving since you can hear every little thing around. - The bluetooth audio isn't being picked up, it's using the device's microphone instead. There is no visible way to switch inputs. - The voice filter isn't very useful. I can hear every little noise around me, including ventilation, so I'm not sure what it's trying to filter exactly. Certainly not background noises.
This app does what its supposed to do. I've tried other hearing boost apps and they were junk. I could hear the boost the second I turned up the volume. From the sound being all the way turned off, I barely turned it up and I could hear the difference, I had an itch on my leg, i had both ear buds in and i could my scratch my leg thru my ear buds. I would HIGHLY recommend down loading this app, if your in need of a sound booster.
Disappointing, could easily be a LOT better. The "Wait 5 minutes" in trial mode is just dumb. Why should I wait to TRY? A demo-only mode should just work, then cut-off in a few minutes just when I might be starting to like it. Paid $2 to remove the "Wait...". It always starts at minimum gain, which does nothing. I know it should not start at high gain, but it could remember the last gain set. At high gain (100-200) it does amplify. The Voice switch cuts-off bass to improve voice clarity. When run with mild gain (so you can hear both direct and boosted) there is a noticeable lag (latency) which may be intrinsic to Android sound. I have severe high-frequency deficit. I paid another $2 to enable the equalizer. This is extremely frustrating on my screen (LGL43AL): far too small for fingers!! A sub-screen lets you pick center frequency and Q, but the range is too large for my fat fingers and it "slides" from 2000Hz to 14567Hz with imperceptible motion. And numbers over 10KHz wrap and look like 1KHz. Listening in my livingroom, I realize that low-level sounds cut-out. Whether this is a noise reduction or a LGL43AL limit, I do not know. But it makes it useless for my needs.
Personally I quite like the app. I can live without the equalizer. But the biggest thing I noticed while using the app was that for devices using bluetooth it wouldn't pull audio from it but instead the phone itself. Presenting unnecessary sounds when held in a pocket or other spaces. If it were possible to input an option for which mic to use that would be fantastic.
Very effective in boosting sounds around you. Massive amplification which is adjustable, good noise reduction, (paid, but not expensive) equalizer, and voice filter. Works in the background! Requests: selectable mic input (phone, wired or bluetooth), and clarity about paid options (unlimited use, equalizer, anything else? Make it transparent and allow an option to unlock everything at once, with a discount).
this software is garbage!!!! first it tells you to install headphones or there is feedback, tried it, and it was stuck in a feedback loop, i couldn't turn it off until i went back to the program, exiting the program wasn't enough. so i ran over to get my head phones to try it again, and it said i had to wait 5 min before i can try it again... worthless garbage. edit, nice, kind of snitty response. the fact i couldn't turn it off while it happened was a problem. couldn't test it a second time without waiting is a problem. one would think it should have a feedback canceller of some kind, not everyone owns headphones.
This app doesn't seem to be taking advantage of the modern phone microphone arrays, neither of Bluetooth microphones or any other streaming device and of course their combinations. It doesn't seem to use any form of adaptive frequency amplification or feedback cancellation and even with headphones on, the high pitched noise comes in if you choose high amplification. Useless? Almost. Plus it asks you to pay or wait 5 minutes for it to start on the second time you use it.
It's ok. I was hoping had more volume controls. If you had a good mic you could an ant pass gas. It's not what I was looking for. I was trying to figure out how cut out my mic, yet record audio. Yeah, I really need to buckle down on the coding/Dev/app making thing because I needs an app that toggle/switch off/pause apps and I/O "stuff" because our devices are awesome!
Terrible. Even with headphones all I got was white noise. Could not even pick up someone talking in the other room with the door wide open and I could hear the conversation without this so-called Hear Boost. What a junk app. I've had EVP apps that works 1000 times better than this app. In response to the app administrator, I found 3 other apps that work perfectly fine without having to reboot my phone. So your app is not working perfectly fine. Maybe you should stop thinking your app is perfect.
seemed ok but after just a few minutes when I tried to turn back on had to upgrade to use service. another gimmick to get you to try their app offering it as free should say free for 2 min then you are gonna be charged. I think it's almost to trickery and tons of apps are doing this but there are still tons that aren't. more honest representation and if we could afford a bunch of pay apps we would just download those to begin with....but the little I did get to use it seemed to be good product
doesn't stand out, sound quality sub par. I've tested others and this app doesn't meet up with them. The 5 minute wait is the nail in the coffin. Edit: nope still no dice, after doing what the developer suggested (it's not my first time with this problem with another a well) just not well enough and it seems to be a common problem with this app in particular. I suggest that the developer fixed the problem. also I'm not trying to diminish the developer just offer my two cents.
Scandolous. I, unsuspecting to having a quick one pulled on me, paid for the app; thinking it would unlock all the "premium/paid" features. No i only bought the equalizer apparently. Because i still have to wait 4:32 minutes to use the app. Bad bussiness and misleading and the creator knows exactly what im talking about. Rediculous. And a lot of vibrations through the air that form words i will get in trouble for saying. Its in the fine print, right?
My hearing aids broke, and this is almost as good as my aids. I don't like the latency. When I quit speaking I can hear myself a second later and causes me to stutter Other than that this app has saved my backside and has allowed me to go back to work. I'm a cashier/store clerk, supervisor.
Shady app, won't run at all without management of all files which is not even what it should use, it should be media only; and the app is a trial with every feature behind a paywall/timewall, and it didn't even work for my One Plus 7 Pro at all with any set-up. Not worth anyone's time as it is...
Cant buy only. Equalizer. Unless you are ok with a 3 minute wait to use the ap. Most hearing impaired who could use this with equalizer only need immediate availability so be prepared to pay for both upgrades. Sound quality is good and delay is better than all other apps i tried though. Refund was prompt and communication with vendor great
Works very well as a broadband booster. People with hearing loss need more precision in setting gain by frequency it is rare that one gain fits all. Please consider adding capability to drag a gain/frequency curve using finger or stylus.
Paid for the EQ, sound quality seems to have suffered a bit, thought I was also getting a mic adjustment option but that wasn't included in the purchase. Using this on a Z2 play Moto. All three mic,s active, would like to be able to choose which one to use.
The feedback was too loud to use this app without headphones, it requires you to wait 5 minutes between listening, and equalizer controls aren't available without purchase of the pro version. Also, while I was "listening" I tried to speak and my voice was not even transferred thru the speakers
App is awesome! BUT I HATE THE 5 MINUTE WAIT. I don't know if this affects anyone else's phone with this app, but it doesn't close when I close the app. I have to literally turn my phone off to get it to stop. Not reboot; power OFF. I'm sure the dev's will figure it out. Still, a strong 3 stars borderline 4, and if big gets fixed and the 5 min wait removed... 5 stars easy.
