Hearing Test

Pure-tone audiometry is the basic hearing examination which determines the degree of hearing loss in relation to the sound frequency.
Hearing Test features:
* pure tone audiometry using bundled headphones and predefined calibration coefficients from the database (possible for systematically increasing number of devices),
* calibration of the device (in the case of lack of predefined coefficients or for headphones other than bundled).

Additional features:
* viewing tests results,
* adding notes to the tests results,
* printing of the tests results,
* adjustment of calibration (calibration coefficients may be adjusted on the basis of your audiogram produced using an audiometer).
* verification of calibration coefficients,
* suppressing of the masking noise for the purpose of free field audiometry.

Great APP, I like it so far, Default calibration for original headset works accurate. Results give you a good idea of hearing status according to user age. I get recurrent hearing test, that's why I would recommend the developer to add an "ear selection" button; a "Sound" ON OFF button; Frequency selector button & volume control. This will give the APP the ability to test randomly each ear and to test someone else by instruct the person under test to indicate which ear hear a sound.

I give this app 5 stars for a very good experience. I've tested my young family, showing very plausible results. As an audio setup I've used a Bluetooth receiver with aptX HD, and the headset Cross from Roccat. Please don't use the phones analog audio output, since it can have very poor quality (signal to noise ratio for liw volume tones).

Overall excellent. No headphones with phone so used my own. With them wired in I was able to hear the sounds in both speakers so I had to remove one headphone, whereas the BT function had sound in only one ear at a time as intended. My functional hearing was somehow better than 0db with wired, but for my deaf ear I had the *exact* same level of hearing loss at the same frequency for both BT and wired functions so I guess it doesn't matter. Actually, far more accurate than a free preliminary test I did at an audiologist a while ago which told me I have perfect hearing (I definitely do not!) Thank you!

I would love to rate this app higher, it's excellently made. The problem is needing to have someone else with good hearing spend 7 minutes calibrating it for you first, but if you don't have anyone to do that for you, you can't rely on the calibration. It says it has the calibration for your device and the "bundled headphones" that came with it in a database, but what phone comes with headphones anymore?? You should be able to input the calibration data manually based on headphone specs

Even though I haven't tried the app yet, with the headset on, even through my phone speaker it is obvious to me this is a well-thought-out and professionally-made app to test your hearing. It's become harder & harder over time for me to understand other people speaking. Wondering whether those frequencies are getting harder me to be able to hear. Even with my phone speaker; I found out that it's true. (I looked up the frequencies of average human speech on a medical website)

I do have 2 suggestions for the developers. 1- if we can change the language of the displayed items, which will make it easier to use for those who do not understand English 2- Do not display the curve when doing the test, i feel like it might influence the decision to consider some sounds barely heard or not heard; personal experience

Very impressive! I just received a professional hearing test yesterday in the ENT section of a fancy downtown hospital. (I'm in my 70s, so hearing is always interesting, though I was seeing a specialist about unrelated issues.) I installed your app, plugged in my non-descript cheap earbuds, and ran it in "demo mode" for lack of a way to calibrate the buds. The agreement is so identical it's uncanny! I even have a weird non-linearity (6k>4k) that appears in both! A+

Good as a reference. I doubt the absolute values, but the relative values between measurements on different days/over years should help to estimate the development of the hearing loss. it's good to have the possibility to calibrate for certain speakers and also that many headphones are already in the database. In my case the app showed no hearing problems while there actually are.

Fantastic, little app that has been a great tool in ny hearing journey. Diagnosed with conductive hearing loss a few years ago and since had a stapedectomy to restore hearing and reduce tinnitus this app has helped me watch the deterioration and restoration over time. The results align with the test results from the specialist surprisingly well. Make sure you use quality bundled stereo earplugs.

I think it probably works well, but have some doubts about the ability of my S9+ and headphones to actually deliver the sounds to my ears (I suppose all people with hearing loss would think that!). A year later, on an S10+; the results are still comparable with those from the S9, but show a big difference from a Boots Audiometry test. Since the latter is designed to sell hearing aids, I don't entirely trust it.

Probably the best app out there, free or otherwise. Not so easy to test if no one about with good hearing to calibrate. As a comparison from left to right, it's very good. Just had right ear de-waxed and can now see a marked improvement over other ear .

Excellent App. Takes a little while to calibrate. Results may obviously vary if you find your calibrator has very good or poor hearing. You can take you time in the test and move the volume up and down for each reading. The app is brilliant at assessment or a quick judgement as to whether you might need a hearing aid. Obviously best to go to a professional with a calibrated machine .

I'm not sure how to rate it honestly. If I'm calibrating my headphones using my own ears, is it even accurate? I'm sure I have some degree of hearing loss due to work with music, but after calibration and running a test, I scored "normal hearing" or above in all areas. After 8 hours of working in the studio today, I can't imagine that's correct...?

I first calibrated it with my brand new hearing aids connected via Bluetooth. Then I took the test without my hearing aids. I used earbuds that go all the way into your ears and seal out any outside noise. The results on the app we're very close to both of my audiograms done at a professionals place.

Easy to use. Similar results when compared to real audiogram. Good for trending audiograms . need to use one set of earplugs/headphones to keep consistant findings. Also note some headphones will have faint sounds in both ears so might have to use side your testing and plug other ear to ensure results are not positively skewed feom hearing sounds in both ears or sound traveling to good ear.

Using just a set of generic Skullcandy buds in demo mode, my results were very close to a recent report from a visit to the audiologist. Your results might vary, but it seems that as long as you use decent earbuds, your results should at least be consistent and meaningful. I especially like the age overlay: my left ear is 10 years younger and my right ear us 10 years older than the average guy my age!

My wife is nearly 100% deaf in one ear, but hears reasonably well in the other. Since the app does not give the ability to skip an ear, we tested her mostly deaf ear. Unfortunately at the higher sound levels, in addition to the super loud sound in the left ear we also got a faint sound in the right ear. This was not an issue of hearing the sound from the other side. We isolated and muffled the left ear bud and could still hear the sound in the right ear bud.

Indicated normal hearing for age group. A great app to check for music induced damage or loud environment induced damage. Fortunately I keep volume levels to 50%, if wearing headphones and listening to youtube or netflix via tablet or computer. I have no tinnitus or balance problems and can hear rustling leaves and soft rainfall - no problems; not too bad for 6th decade. The guy next door, music is so loud that I feel the vibrations thru the floor and kitchen doors buzz in step with sub woofer.

Very nice testing app with both tones and intelligibility. Included headphones calibration. It's not a sales pitch. EXCELLENT.

This was working well until mar 2021. The white noise generated used to be constant, now it oscillates/ comes with each pulse. Meniers sufferer. Maybe a phone setting changed? Volume on this phone changed today too, out of the blue without me doing anything. EDIT: something on the phone changed, all back to normal now 3/25. Love this app!

Chr. B. Apr 14, 2020

Great and reassuring App, as I started to notice a big reduction in hearing in my left ear and this App was able to quantify the hearing loss. Now I have just returned from a visit to the doctor, I was instantly able to confirm my hearing has returned to normal. Very happy with the App's performance.

The speech intelligibility test of this app is a complete joke. You will get a HIGHY VARIABLE and ERRATIC result. Like, you try for six times without pause and none of the results are remotely similar, and you get like a 100% score one one frequency, 33% one an adjacent frequency, but then again a 100% score on the next frequency. How come? Also, the headset calibration for hearing test is faulty; you ALWAYS hear a noise when the cross mark goes down. Such a trash.

What a refreshing app! Exactly what I'm looking for. Comprehensive tests that clearly displays the outcome of the tests. Doesn't ask for your personal info or show adverts. Results saved to compare with later tests. Highly recommend.
