Heartpedia

Congenital heart defects can be difficult to visualize and explain. Heartpedia, created by Cincinnati Children's Hospital, allows you to interact with 3D models of pediatric heart anomalies and defects. Healthcare providers may use these anatomically-correct models as visual learning tools to help educate patients and families on specific defects and repairs. Heartpedia may also be helpful to patients and families who want to learn more on their own or to share the details of a defect with concerned friends and family. Cincinnati Children’s believes that supplying the right information and tools ultimately results in the highest level of care and the best outcomes.

It's a cool app but support for it has disappeared and is never updated. Wish they added more heart defects before stopping entirely. Still a cool app though.

Not getting descriptions in the description tab for each defect. The other tabs and graphics work great!

Very cool app just wish it had my son's defect...Double Inlet Left Ventricle. Also wish you could add on defects like pulmonary stenosis for those who have multiple like we do. This would be a great tool for explaining chd to others!

I love this app. I use it a lot. It's interesting to see how a heart that's malformed looks before and after surgery. The explanations are very understandable, even if English is my second language. Also, it's a great help when explaining what was wrong with my heart. Great job, well done. I hope you will add other CHDs as well...

As a junior doctor this is a godsend! Detailed, anatomically correct 3D images of the normal, defective and surgically repaired heart with the fantastic video explanation make it so much easier to understand CHDs. I would recommend this to my colleagues and parents of patients

There aren't enough defects on this. My l.o has ASD, VSD, Tricuspid atresia aortic stenosis and thought this app would've been great to show others what happen in his heart everyday. This being said this app has huge potential!

Its a great app but my child has MAPCAs and its never seen or talked about. it would be really cool to see it 3D

Kyr. W. Nov 4, 2016

This would be great if the hearts weren't fully pink! The information is still really useful - but I preferred it when I could see the heart properly.

For some reason on our teaching tablet for the residents the images are just pink blobs. Great concept but a pink outline of a heart isnt helpful. May be the tablet (galaxy) but doesnt work

I would love to see more defects. My daughter has Tetralogy of Fallot with pulmonary atresia and multiple aortopulmonary collaterals with vsd. It would be nice to be able to see a 3d image of this.

Thank you to Cincinnati Children's for sharing this wonderful, interactive tool useful to educate providers and families about common congenital heart anomalies. So far the app runs without a glitch for iPhones as well as for Droids.

Excellent 3D models. Keep up the great work!

I wish it had Hypoplasic Right Heart Syndrome. But over all I like it. My son has had 2 open heart surgeries. And it's hard to explain to others what exactly is wrong. They don't really get it and it is hard to explain without pictures

What a great app to have it definitely helps explain things to some people. Would love to see a DORV heart and repair

Che. 2. Feb 5, 2015

It won't load diagram/image. I've clicked on it several times and it just cuts off and sends me back to my homepage
