Be careful about using this test if you are American. The pronunciation is foreign. This could make a big difference in results. Example- when I speak to overseas customer service reps, I sometimes ask them to repeat themselves, with American reps that almost never happens.
- I would give more stars if It could evaluate separately right and left ears. - And because there is an option to chose your language but even though the speach is in English. So it's not understandable what you have to chose your language for? - Also, as you have to remember three digit sequence, the concentration or memory problems eventually could affect the results. - And, finally, I found an App "Check your hearing" which has many interesting features. - Thanks.
I was instructed to plug in headphones or earbuds. The problem with that is that they were already plugged in. I unplugged and plugged htem in again and the app still couldn't detec they were plugged in. For this reason I was unable to proceed.
Don't waste your time! This is surprisingly terrible all it does output pink noise and the tones don't work with any headset! You'd think that it should work for all headsets and not just select ones. BTW trying to guess tones by there pitch is not a hearing test. A hearing test is based on amplitude of a pitch not how well you can recognise its frequency. In response to the reply. First things first the message about stereo headsets is ridiculous all headsets are stereo name me one headset that is not! I'm a sound engineer and programmer the issue is not the headsets, btw I have tried about 20 pairs lying around the studio here, it is the programming of the app. What the message should say is a stereo enabled device is required, not headsets!
A good idea with plenty of limits that could be explained better. When one reviewer asked if the app can measure one ear at a time, the developer said it "presents out-of-phase digits and picks up unilateral and conductive losses along with bilateral sensorineural losses". I doubt most people would understand what you are saying, no matter how well they can hear. Please speak plainly. To calibrate the volume, how about encouraging users to lower the volume until one (differentiated) digit is no longer audible? Otherwise I could use a volume ranging from 50% to 100% and get vastly different results. Lastly, the app refers erratically to trained people and to professionals but doesn't define them. I recommend putting something in the FAQs about audiologists, Otolaryngologists etc., and how to find or identify a qualified expert (and avoid charlatans).
Chinese is difficult. As my first language I only got 44, then I tried English and I got 84. I guess a good volume also matters a lot, I changed it to a better value the second time.
It was strange at first as there was a lot of fuzz....but this app is testing hearing with background noise ...listening through the noise! Ah if only that was explained at the begining, that would have helped!
Can't use the app due to the error "No headphones connected". Please take into consideration that Bluetooth headphones are very popular.
I've tried this app with multiple people of various age group. For all the people the score is below 45. I think the application is defective. But I appreciate the initiative.
Absolutely amazing..I'm scoring avg 82+ overall. But, elderly people or people with hearing problem would struggle to get 50+ It's a scientific approach to test your hearing. Thank you #WHO from 🇮🇳
Awesome and very relevant to know your hearing... I liked it very much and everybody should have this app and keep handy to check your hearing regularly for preventing hearing loss.❤️
Awesome App . It works great . You have to develop other similar apps that can diagnose other kind of body related problems .
I tested my ear with this application 5-6 times always i got result below 40. after checked my ear in hospital it found ear perfectly normal and your application giving false result. damn it.
Good ?!!! I only can hear in one ear and I scored about 43 with more than a one testing . Does it mean the other ear is damaged ?! I wish there is an option for testing only one ear .
I don't recommend this app. When I did the hearing test it said that I had hearing loss, so I went to the hospital to check my years, but I had normal hearing. That made me mad.
Didn't recognise wireless headphones. Changed to wired headphones then said I had changed the volume, which I hadn't and couldn't proceed (tried 5 times)
doesnt work - prompts me to connect headphones, even though they are connected already (through Bluetooth), no way to skip this step after the prompt
Tried twice. Higher score second time by not turning volume down at beginning.
I fully understand that this is a nit-picky review, but I had to do it anyway. There are several typos throughout the app.
A fantastic app with a lot of great features!! Didn't know that this technology even existed on mobile!!
Worth screening, awaiting on iPhone too. Expect unexpected results at times
its a great app. thank you for developing a health app. it shows accurate results
It's nothing in your or in this app because even though my headphone is connected it shows still connect your headphone
not able to use showing to connect earphones eventhough they are connected
Headphones not detected, can't progress to test!
Brilliant app I know I have damaged hearing not surprised with my results
initial volume setting is too weg. not definite enough.
NOT FOR AMERICAN ENGLISH! Couldn't figure out why I was getting a bad score--everything was clear. I took 2 other app- & headphone-based hearing tests & got excellent scores. It's due to the English accent! Example: With high ambiant noise, her "1" and "4" are so similar @ end. Americans are used to the N in "1" being discernible but her's is completely opened mouth, round O mouth to end-no tip of tongue for "N". She doesn't use the "R" in "4" so it's like "foe", same open round O mouth at end.
