Fabulous app! The best I've found and there's hundreds of presets to easily download from the online community via the app. I use it via a sound cable from my phone to record direct into my daw as a live instrument, I just love the sheer versatility of this synth... pro version is amazingly good value!!! (•‿•)
Excellent sound and the VST works even on Linux (Carla host with Win VST bridge). Sadly the VST connection relies on broadcast discovery what does not work over VPNs. I do not want to have to disable the Netguard VPN firewall to use this. So please add an option to manually enter the IP address of the VST host. That will give it five stars for sure.
I was under the impression that, with this app, you could load a VST file from your PC, and say, plug a USB to MIDI cable into any generic MIDI controller, and play the VST from your phone, with the MIDI controller. Or at the very least, load a VST file onto my phone and play it in the app. Neither of these appear to be true, and if either ARE possible, there is NO help whatsoever, anywhere, to explain how. If this app isnt capable of doing that, there needs to be a description explaining that IT CANT DO THAT, OR, IF IT CAN, SAY THAT SPECIFICALLY, AND THEN EXPLAIN HOW. Vaguely worded, poorly written "VST Integration" page on the website only adds to the mystery and frustration.
Really good sound, I use this for the live band pop song. Piano, String, Brass, Bell, Hit, making this application like an expensive synthesizer keyboard. In addition, it needs to be updated for the sustain pedal, and portamento. Awaited update
This remains one of the few best musical-instrument apps on Android. "Still" because it has gone without love from its developer for some time and because the sound quality remains very good.
It's a pretty versatile synth. Started to get a tad dated with other newcomers allowing deeper control but definitely in the top group for Android.
Love this app. My favorite little engine. It is unfortunately becoming obsolete. It is wanting the older version of the platform in which it was designed. Any updates coming?
just writing a review as a reply to a bad review below... the description is very clear and has always been, I've had this app almost since it came out, it's always been known that this app does not load VST instuments, if you read the whole description it clearly states that there is a VST version for PC that you can load your patches in and use in your DAW. giving an app a bad review because you are ignorant is bad form
Never ending loading at start of app if I'm not online and I thought I could use my desktop's VSTs on my phone using this app, it does not. Bummer.
I have spent hours making tunes with this synth,it's the best that I have used so far. Recomend that you give it a try.

Of all the VA synths I've tried on my Android tablet this one by far is the best! The GUI is exceptional and size of the sounds and community is impressive. Thank you Nils for such an outstanding synth.

The Best Thing Ever, Period.
I love this app.. give the guy a break if he's all alone and working then it's going to take time to do stuff.. I have sent feedback from the recent update that crashes all the time and am waiting feedback. I still think it's an online thing that's crashing it as it runs fine on first run before trying to login or use any online presets

I might as well have neural interface with Heat as I have it in my hands everyday! Constructing intricate ambient drone sessions that I record, play back looping as I construct the next to compliment the previous. Thank you for dreaming it up!
After the latest update, the app won't open. Tapping on the Heat icon only opens the Play Store page. I'm running android 4.4.2 on Samsung Galaxy Tab Pro. The app has worked perfectly since 2014 on this tablet before the update.

Great sounds with very low latency, I could seamlessly plug my midi keyboard and play like a real synthesiser, with chords. There are a lot of great presets, including special ones like the laser saber of Star Wars that uses the phone's gyroscope. Excellent app, well done! Just missing a sequencer. Please note that the exported wav file is not being recognised by FL Studio, but the phone can play it.
