I use this app every time I go to Heine Bro's, and I like using it. Very simple interface, and good options for payment. I didn't have many complaints about the app until the other day when I went to go use it, and the barcode was blurry and wouldn't scan. It's like that all the time now, and I can't use the app anymore.
Can't order ahead at store in office building where I work, can't figure out how much i have left on my account, app is not user friendly, HB will never do the business Starbucks did at this same location unless they allow the option to order ahead. UPDATE: 4 months later, still can't order ahead at the location on PNC Tower lobby....
The app has been sluggish and the QR code has been "blurry" ever since Android 10 came out almost a year ago. Hopefully at some point the app is updated to work well with the newer Android versions.
Overall a good app. It would be nice to have an order ahead option. But the biggest thing I'd like is to have to option to turn off the automatic reloading in the ways to pay. I love being able to put $25 on it and pay with my phone, but I don't always want it to reload.
I really want to love this as they're local and have great coffee but as far as the app.... disappointing. Not only has there been no change after all these negative reviews but when there are seasonal drinks they don't tell you what's in them. Makes no sense. HB please spend a little time and effort to make the app more user friendly
Not created for the user. The menu is hidden. No way to talk to anyone regarding your frustration. Store level employees are not app trained. Too bad, coffee is great, app does not coincide, leaves too much to be desired.
The app could be better. It's nice and simple, however, I noticed that every time I order, the total it says on the app shows way less than I'm actually being charged (today's order should have been $4.21, as it said on the app, but I was charged $5.05).
Local Coffee made right. It's a lot more expensive than making it at home and there's more variety. All in all much better than Starbucks and you support local.
Can only get rewards using the app but will not let you pick up mobile order through drive thru. You MUST go inside. Makes no sense considering we are supposed to be limiting contact with others due to COVID. Will no longer be using the app or purchasing from Heine Brothers at all.
My wife and I ordered two medium drinks on Nov 3rd that were essentially only half full. These were specialty drinks, so we ended up paying $10+ for half full drinks which we were not very happy about.
It was 5 stars. As others have said the barcode is blurry because of the new version of android.
Great app but really needs an update to be compatible with the newest Android system update because the QR code is very low resolution.

Does not work on Android 10. Needs an update. Useless on my phone now.
Can't get your money out easily once it has been automatically charged to add funds. The owner has also told all their stores to take down any and all BLM movement posters and pictures.

It should be called HB Perk as in a singular ridiculous perk 95% of the time where you need to spend 50 DOLLARS on coffee before you get a cute $3 reward. Unless you religiously go to this place, its not worth.

QR code is blurry on Pixel 2&3
I don't like that I only get rewards by using my credit card. What about gift cards or cash? I love HB but often pay with cash as it helps me budget. I also looked at the app and can't find a place to load a gift card. Maybe I am looking in the wrong place? This seems like a common complaint.
No one should ever have to give credit/debit card info just to use a rewards app! Cash customers are being discriminated against!
Not user friendly. It is nice to be able to order ahead and does have some nice features but the design itself is lacking.. it not self explanatory. The app feels like it requires a training session. My biggest complaint is that it doesn't tell you your overall preloaded amount and the balance anywhere. If it does show it somewhere, I can't find it.
