Helium (Premium)

Does not seem to work anymore. First time, I selected 12 apps, it went well and told me it had completed the backup. I checked and there were only 3 apps backed up. Imagine if I had wiped my data :( I tried again, same problem. 2 re-installs later (premium and normal app) and now it can't connect to google drive and says "backup error" with "internal storage".

STILL WORKS! if you're having trouble: in addition to installing the app on both phones and the pc, allowing usb debugging, etc. you have to use file transfer when moving carbon files, and picture transfer when backing up / restoring in the app. i forgot to switch back and forth and the app wouldn't work. i also strongly recommend hanging on to the install programs as it saved a lot of trouble. hope this helps!

I had such high hopes for this app. I needed to send a defective Pixel XL back after transferring the apps and data to the replacement phone. The backup crashed the first 3 times I tried to run it. I then selected a minimum number of apps to back up and it ran. I was so excited. I then opened the new phone and tried to restore the apps. No matter what i did, Helium said I did not have a Google account. Now tell me how you set up an android completely without a Google account. I tried uninstalling Helium and reinstalling it to no avail. It's too late for a refund, so I guess it is a failed attempt to make things easy. I'm glad to hear it worked for others. BTW, both of my phones are identical Google Pixel XL's and running Android 9.

It is a good app if/when it works, which it often doesn't, and then you have to spend hours googling solutions, because support is non existent. It asks for permissions it shouldn't need and won't work without them. But it is the only thing I have found that properly backs up my Angry Birds scores and lets me transfer them to new devices, albeit via convoluted means.

THIS APP IS NO LONGER SUPPORTED. The "Helium Backup" app is no longer in the Play store. So don't buy this! It stopped working for me, and as others have pointed out the developer never responds to emails. He certainly never responded to mine. So don't buy this. In the past, the app saved me from a lot of tedious work: Once on a new device, once after a factory reset, and several times after flashing a new ROM. However, it stop working reliably on my Nexus 6, at least four years ago.

This backup app has had problems since the beginning but it use to work. Now it no longer works to backup data on Android 11. It hasn't connected to Google Drive in years and this is where I had saved the backups when it was working but now they are as useless as the app. UPDATE THIS!!! Why a pro version if you never update it so it will work? - HELLO, McFly....

I'd say this is the only backup solution you'll ever need to backup and restore apps with their DATA intact, esp when your phone is not rooted. The rest of the backup apps out there would require you to root your phone. I just have to mention though that you'll need to install both Helium's recommended Universal ADB Driver and the "Samsung USB driver for Windows" on Samsung's website for this to work, at least with the one I have (S8 & S9+ phones and my super old laptop).

Not working for me. I have pixel with latest android 11. I can't move the app and app data to another phone. I get errors and I tried it every way possible. This app used to work great a few years ago and I paid for the premium too. This was an awesome app for non rooted users. Hopefully someone will update it soon.

This app was unable to backup many of my apps, activating it is unreliable and an inquiry to the developer went unanswered. I am much happier with the other main competing app. If this were the only option I would prefer to just reinstall all of my apps manually. This is the only app I have ever spent money on where I feel the purchase was a complete waste of money.

Well.. Nice application but it kinda annoying that I have to connect to PC everytime after the app closes. All features works out for me but when try to backup heavy file, the app seem to be broken or stuck at backing up. BTW Google login (and other 3rd party online storage) can't be logged in so I'm only using internal storage everytime.

1 star as the free app works within its confines and will back up to the SD card. I bought it as I thought it would solve a problem with app data. However it does not work to the cloud. I have emailed the developer but they just ignore you. Avoid its a waste of time and money.

No dice. Tried it on two different Android devices and the backup failed every time I tried. Even paid for the premium version. Waste of money. I followed all the instructions, enabled debugging and so forth and tried multiple times and it never worked.

Bought the premium version, which is essentially just a license key for you to support the developer. Went on to install the actual app (the free version client) and found out that it is no longer available. So essentially I paid for a product that is not offered anymore.

I've bought the premium but my license doesn't work. It didn't backup all my apps and it doesn't give any kind of report at the end so you know exactly what's been done. You can't backup to an external Sd card and the options and setting are very minimal.

App was useless and an absolute nightmare to use with an error occuring every step of the way. Had no choice but to purchase premium. It worked in the end after multiple errors even in the premium version vut it was clear the app has no intention of being any use unless you pay money. lt's fine to ask for money for your app but to make it free and mislead and frustrate you into paying for a free app is different. I got a refund and the app gets 2 stars for doing the job despite itself.

I read an old review from a reputable source. Followed the link which brought me to the premium app. Decided to go ahead and support the developer and bought it. Started the process and got to a wall where my phone and PC were waiting for each other but not connecting. Then researched and discovered that Motorola phones are not supported. Great. Then saw on the FAQ that they don't offer refunds. So I got screwed over.

Doesn't work. Invested a lot of time trying to transfer app data between devices. Purchased premium key, but purchase won't transfer to second device. Premium also can connect to cloud drive. Tried everything.

I had to do a factory reset of my phone. I took a backup in Helium and went ahead. What a mistake! Thank God for Whatsapp and other apps who have their own backup mechanisms. I'm trying to restore my SMS, call records, User dictionary, etc from Google drive but get the error "Unable to login. You have not setup any Google accounts". How would I sync Gmail and contacts if I didn't set up an account? Unless a genius has figured this out and responds to me I believe my backup is gone for ever.

I started using this app in 2014 and it was a dream came true; very useful, easy to use and versatile. However when I most needed it recently to restore app data it failed miserably, and I've been trying to reach support for some time without results. PLEASE DO NOT USE OR PURCHASE THE PREMIUM VERSION OF THUS APP!

Did not work. took away the ads, sure, but did not allow use of additional features which would not function in the free version. This used to be a great app, now it's non-functional garbage. * Backup attempts fail. * Restore attempts fail. * Contacting support fails. * Paying for premium works, but premium fails. * Adding cloud storage fails.

I am unable to backup most of the apps helium says I can backup along with an unknown error pop up or something like that. I'm only able to back up maybe a handful of apps out of the entire list of apps on my device which is a major problem because my video game data especially is very important to me so please fix this as soon as possible. My device is an LG Rebel 4 as you are reference. but actually I have a had this problem with helium on every device I have used it on.

Regular version can only save to SD card, and my Pixel doesn't have a slot. Paid for the premium version to enable cloud saving, but the app simply does not work because my Android OS is too new. I had to get a refund because of this.

Does not restore app at all. keeping getting error 80 percent of the way during restoration. tried many cloud accounts and methods with it. No luck. will change review once they fix this. trying to restore sausage legend save game

I had a lot of problems with this. Many features didn't work and the license wasn't detected on the device I was trying to restore to. Don't waste your money... it's a bit of a pain but the native ADB tools can do the job better.

seems to be a BS app and should be taken down. the free version says that if you waste your money on this spp you can save your back up to your Google account, but I have tried and tried to get it to work. it always says that you haven't added a Google account yet won't let you add a Google account. I tried to get a hold of the developer but haven't heard anything from them!

Excellent transfer app. Moving to a new phone I wanted to take all my cats from Neko Collector with me. Installed this on the old and new phone (both not rooted) and transferred all my kitties via Google Drive without issue. Very pleased! Well worth the price 😁

It's just like a scam, you download premium then it will say you have to download helium app to make it work as the premium is just a licence. Then you look all apps by the provider there is no other app does backup and restore. Waste of time.!!
