Works well as advertised. Three improvements needed for 5 stars would be: 1. Offline maps since you are not always in Cell coverage 2. Maps with contours of water body so you can follow a specific contour when fishing 3. Stop app from stopping when Smart Phone is used for another activity such as a call or another app.
Rubbish app Things I would expect to see is the waypoint routes not stop at each point for trolling being able to draw a line that it follows would be better then several points. A direction setting so it stays in a straight line while moving. Change direction while in anchor mode
app still needs improvement. this app needs to be able to save map areas to create routes. you dont always have internet access on the water!!
The main and biggest problem is that it does not have depth contours function. For fishing it is essential.
Does not always connect. Unable to change country in am in. My app says China, I am in North Carolin
Can not connect to trolling motor
Getting better all the time. Would be great if anchor lock was slower. Continually overcompensates. Should only go to faster speeds when further away from spot. Needs more finesse. Boat may only move a metre or two then motor seems to go flat out to get back to the spot and over shoots then process is repeated. Keep the updates coming. Edit. Upgrade has been performed and unit spot locks perfectly!
Helmsman works perfectly on IOS and Android devices. App is powerful, well featured and easy to use. Holds anchor lock position. Can lose bluetooth connection to motor via remote, if battery in remote gets low, as this is a safety feature.
Not great. wont connect to GPS on android device. Did some research and it can only connect to GPS on an IOS device. Can connect to remote but then GPS function does not work. please fix for android to allow for gps connection
I am using the new updated Cayman B GPS. I have a Samsung A5 and it works fine. The only problem you will have is uf the remote runs low on Battery power.
Motor now operates on anchor lock with new firmware installed .
Wont connect through phone to electric, saying bluetooth connection fail, is this a common problem?
A lot of bugs in the software. Keep having to reset accurate mode as it doesn't save. More updates and improvements needed. Has a long way to go to compete with more expensive unit's. Great support though. Still a great unit for the price.
Does not connect to haswing gps
app runs my new haswing Cayman trolling motor. problems with it following prerecorded routes. it will loose it's way and then I have to go to manual mode to gain control. when I then go back to the route it should go to the nearest way point highlighted in green. it does not, it wants to head the shortest way to get back to the start of the route. very annoying. the app should read the battery level of the haswing remote as you have no idea of its state of charge.
